Q30: 37. . . .The First Evangelists Show the Desire of Ages is inspired.. (1) The Family of Jesus.. The apostles were members of the family of Jesus, and they had accompanied Him as He traveled onfoot through Galilee. They had shared with Him the toils and hardships that overtook them. They hadlistened to His discourses, they had walked and talked with the Son of God, and from His dailyinstruction they had learned how to work for the elevation of humanity. Eph 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Is not Zion the heavenly Jerusalem the female bride for the groom, our Saviour Jesus Christ? The people in the city are figures of femaleness-love, saved by the maleness-love of Jesus. We are the adopted family of Jesus and He is our biological and spiritual Father, the strong one in our Home. But this typology also implies the Son of GOD is a family member too, with His heavenly Father, and the Holy Spirit, a heavenly Mother. These are not titles, nor pictures, but descriptors of function... Our heavenly Father protects and provides for us, our Holy Spirit gives us the blessings of life and glues us in the heavenly Home. For more, see:- (2) The Gospel message goes as two.. Calling the twelve about Him, Jesus bade them go out two and two through the towns and villages. None were sent forth alone, but brother was associated with brother, friend with friend. Thus theycould help and encourage each other, counseling and praying together, each one's strengthsupplementing the other's weakness. In the same manner He afterward sent forth the seventy. It was theSaviour's purpose that the messengers of the gospel should be associated in this way. In our own timeevangelistic work would be far more successful if this example were more closely followed. The Spirit of Prophecy says witnessing must go out in pairs, just as Jesus sent his disciples out to witness in pairs. Why two persons? Because the couple are a coupling like strands of rope. Just as the DNA is two strands of rope coupled as a coupling, for strength, unity and helping the other. If one strand of DNA fails to remember information the other strand immediately recovers what is lost or confused. This typology of witnessing is similar to marriage as well, as couples of love (love has two very different functional personalites) are coupled together into a coupling. (3) Spend more witnessing doing healing During His ministry Jesus devoted more time to healing the sick than to preaching. His miraclestestified to the truth of His words, that He came not to destroy but to save. Crowds were collecting around them to hear from their lips theworks that the Lord had wrought. His voice was the first sound that many had ever heard, His name thefirst word they had ever spoken, His face the first they had ever looked upon. Why should they not loveJesus, and sound His praise? As He passed through the towns and cities He was like a vital current, diffusing life and joy wherever He went. Jesus performed many wonders among the sick, giving them reason to believe in His spiritual lessons as well. Here are two Hebrew words translated by translators as "wonder"- This image comes from Jeff Benner's Lexicon, cut and pasted by the Author. Notice "wonder" can be "the flowing secured mouth speaks towards a mark" meaning people speak of a wonder that is very important to them. We see this word often used to show Jesus' power and miracles. The other "wonder" is "a Marked flow. Behold the Being!" suggests an amazing sight performed by a heavenly Being, or some special person of power. The verb and noun form have similar meaning but different actions. Here is the first of wonders Jesus as Lord Adonay does to His writngs:- Isa 29:9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. Why does the Father via the Holy Spirit close down the words of the Holy Writings to the pastors and prophets? Because they forake Elohiym. Isa 29:13 Wherefore the Lord (Adonay-Jesus) said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: The first wonder, is the closing down of the Holy Writings to make some blind, and the opening up of the Holy Writings so the blind see, making a people who are meek...their eyes fixed on Jesus ! So this wonder is about opening the Holy Writings, and making the meek increase their joy in Jesus. Here is the second wonder: Hab 1:5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you. Why does GOD raise up antichrist at the end of time? Hab 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. This second wonder is about Jesus' coming will not linger, but come on time, while His people shall live by His faith. And the NT also uses this Hebrew word "wonder" :- Ac 2:19 And I will shew wonders (Greek Teras) in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: This verse is quoted by Peter, during the Latter Rain experience of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit pours out the fullest powers of the Father via His Son Jesus. (4) More than angels in the army.. They are to contend with supernaturalforces, but they are assured of supernatural help. All the intelligences of heaven are in this army. And more than angels are in the ranks. The Holy Spirit, the representative of the Captain of the Lord's host, comes down to direct the battle. Our infirmities may be many, our sins and mistakes grievous; but thegrace of God is for all who seek it with contrition. The power of Omnipotence is enlisted in behalf ofthose who trust in God. Here the SOP speaks of the Holy Spirit as a representative of Jesus, the Holy Spirit commands an army of angels, for Jesus. Since the Holy Spirit looks like a "bird in function" with "coverings like wings" notice the SOP in other places:- How easily the armies of heaven brought down the walls that had seemed so formidable to the spies who brought the false report! The word of God was the only weapon used. The Mighty One of Israel had said: "I have given into thine hand Jericho." If a single warrior had brought his strength to bear against the walls, the glory of God would have been lessened and His will frustrated. But the work was left to the Almighty; and had the foundation of the battlements been laid in the center of the earth, and their summits reached the arch of heaven, the result would have been the same when the Captain of the Lord's host led His legions of angels to the attack. They did refuse to hear, and He pronounced His judgments upon Israel; He visited with special wrath the man who had proudly lifted himself up against the Almighty. 4T.179.001 (5) Witness with small showers NOT a flood of words.. "Behold," said Jesus, "I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise asserpents, and harmless as doves." Christ Himself did not suppress one word of truth, but He spoke italways in love. He exercised the greatest tact, and thoughtful, kind attention in His intercourse with thepeople. He was never rude, never needlessly spoke a severe word, never gave needless pain to asensitive soul. The servants of Christ are not to act out the dictates of the natural heart. They need to have closecommunion with God, lest, under provocation, self rise up, and they pour forth a torrent of words thatare unbefitting, that are not as dew or the still showers that refresh the withering plants. This is whatSatan wants them to do; for these are his methods. Ec 5:2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few. When we witness to GOD, though we have much training of Jesus, and much knowledge of Jesus and His WORD, we are NOT to talk too much to people beginning the new life in Jesus. Always begin with them as a shower, not a flood of words. (6) SOP comments on the meek.. The power by which they are to overcome evil is the power of Christ. The glory of Christ is their strength. They are to fix their eyes upon His loveliness. Then they can present the gospel with divine tact andgentleness. And the spirit that is kept gentle under provocation will speak more effectively in favor ofthe truth than will any argument, however forcible. Strongs 6035 "Seeing" " across the people " "fixed" A person sees others securely without provocation, is someone meek. Such people have their eyes fixed on Jesus, and thus can witness to others with gentleness. From Jeff Benner's Lexicon Interesting hey? How the SOP speaks of those who have power from Jesus have their eyes fixed on his loveliness, can present the gospel of Jesus with tact and gentleness. Jeff Benner translates this Hebrew word as gentle, the KJV as meek. Such people can look over others securely without getting upset by them, or led astray by them, such people are true as a magnetic needle is to the pole. See studies of humble See studies of meek (7) Church buildings designed by men.. Continuing His instruction to His disciples, Jesus said, " Beware of men." They were not to put implicitconfidence in those who knew not God, and open to them their counsels; for this would give Satan'sagents an advantage. Man's inventions often counterwork God's plans. Those who build the temple ofthe Lord are to build according to the pattern shown in the mount,--the divine similitude. God isdishonored and the gospel is betrayed when His servants depend on the counsel of men who are notunder the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Worldly wisdom is foolishness with God. Those who rely uponit will surely err. Our Church buildings dishonour Jesus, they face the wrong direction, they have an altar of steps, they are designed with human wisdom... (8) Witnessing with words from the Father.. Under examination these arerequired to answer, and their judges to listen to the testimony borne. God's grace will be dispensed toHis servants to meet the emergency. "It shall be given you," says Jesus, "in that same hour what yeshall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you." As the Spirit of God illuminates the minds of His servants, the truth will be presented in its divine power andpreciousness. Those who reject the truth will stand to accuse and oppress the disciples. But under lossand suffering, even unto death, the Lord's children are to reveal the meekness of their divine Example. Thus will be seen the contrast between Satan's agents and the representatives of Christ. We speak the words of the Father, via Jesus, via the Holy Spirit, during the end of time, showing meekness... When they were brought into trial, the Holy Spirit would bring to theirremembrance the very truths that would be needed. The k nowledge obtained by diligent searching of the Scriptures would be flashedinto the memory at the right time. But if any had neglected to acquaint themselves with the words ofChrist, if they had never tested the power of His grace in trial, they could not expect that the Holy Spiritwould bring His words to their remembrance. They were to serve God daily with undivided affection, and then trust Him. One reason to study Jesus WORD in His teachings, both former and latter rains (OT and NT) is so we can use such power of those Words, as examples to other men. The Holy Spirit brings such memory of words of Jesus back to us, at the right time. (9) Our Father is active.. The Bible shows us God in His high and holy place, not in a state of inactivity, not in silence andsolitude, but surrounded by ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands of holyintelligences, all waiting to do His will. Through channels which we cannot discern He is in activecommunication with every part of His dominion. But it is in this speck of a world, in the souls that Hegave His only-begotten Son to save, that His interest and the interest of all heaven is centered. God isbending from His throne to hear the cry of the oppressed. To every sincere prayer He answers, "Heream I." He uplifts the distressed and downtrodden. In all our afflictions He is afflicted. In everytemptation and every trial the angel of His presence is near to deliver. Not even a sparrow falls to the ground without the Father's notice. Satan's hatred against God leads himto hate every object of the Saviour's care. He seeks to mar the handiwork of God, and he delights indestroying Page 357 even the dumb creatures. It is only through God's protecting care that the birds are preserved to gladdenus with their songs of joy. But He does not forget even the sparrows. "Fear ye not therefore, ye are ofmore value than many sparrows." Some theories of faith say "GOD" is 80% of the time a reference to the Father...is a misleading theory of faith... Notice the Ancient Hebrew picture of "elohiym" which is translated as "god" :- Notice our heavenly Father "flows", the pictograph of flowing water suggests our heavenly Father's power flows. This is what making "elohiym" plural really means, the heavenly power of love via our Heavenly Father, flows. But such love is not made by the Father alone, though love flows out from a single source...seems like Elohiym is a single strong Authority...but this is not the case upon closer inspection. Many see the Father as inactive, but contrary to such misconceptions, our heavenly Father is busy with love flowing out for others. (10) Jesus is a medium ?? Jesus continues: As you confess Me before men, so I will confess you before God and the holy angels. You are to be My witnesses upon earth, channels through which My grace can flow for the healing ofthe world. So I will be your representative in heaven. The Father beholds not your faulty character, butHe sees you as clothed in My perfection. I am the medium through which Heaven's blessings shallcome to you. Notice the SOP explains the "medium" affect of Jesus... just as we humans are a channel conduit for Jesus' grace to flow through us via the medium of the Holy Spirit, Jesus is our channel between us and the Father, and thus our medium for the Father to see His perfect character flowing through His Son, which is flowing through us. Complicated hey? Yes... Ps 131:1 LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. Faith is having confidence in heavenly power flows through us that we do not fully see or fully understand... better to be a child of child like faith and accept things, than to try to understand GOD. We cannot even understand all there is about God's creation, let alone about His salvation system established for us. 1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one "echad" mediator "mesites" between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; A mediator must bridge or ladder Elohiym to Man, therefore a mediator must be both Elohiym and Man, the Son of GOD must be also a Son of Man, the Being Jesus Christ. This text alone is proof Jesus pre-existed! Jesus cannot be a sinless human bringing man to the Father, for this only bridges the flesh of the human sinning as an atonement. How now can the forgiven human develop a sinless character ready to fully endure the Father in eternal glory? A sinless human alone cannot do this for a sinner, unless He is of Elohiym as well. Thus Jesus is two bridges connecting both problems. Jesus is the Son of Man, living now for eternity in human flesh without sinning, to biologically marry fallen humanity in human flesh, AND as the Son of GOD, be the bridge for heavenly co-eternal power to flow into a forgiven believer, who grows up with Jesus' character in him/her until that person can stand the fullest glory for eternity in the Father's presence. Some might argue that Yeshua was chosen by the Father to become His human Son (since conception and union with the heavenly Father), and so because of His sinless life, we sinful humans have life through the Son via the same faith Jesus had life through His Father. Salvation does indeed work this way, for our Father flows though Jesus into humans who once sinned. But Jesus was a different human, because He never did any sinning. But how can one biologically human, yet without sinning, endure the Father's presence for eternity? Well Adam did, but Adam did not sin, nor was Adam condemned until he sinned. But now that Adam sinned, and was condemned to a state of non-existence, a Father's miracle conception to born a chosen son, who lives in such a biological body of condemnation for death, but lives without sinning, can the Father accept this despite the condemnation? Ro 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. This KJV verse is translated correctly, so death reigned since Adam even over Jesus who had not sinned. So how does Jesus overcome the death problem which condemnation wrought? Living sinlessly only helps humans who have sinned, but it cannot restore a condemned human because Adam .. originally sinned. So how does Jesus remove the death... curse? Muslims say Jesus cannot be "god" because "god" cannot die. They do not have a correct understanding of death. Since when is death the cessation of biological reactions? Even at so called death, skin and finger nails grow for a while. Death has to be the separation of Elohiym, thus Jesus has to be one of Elohiym, in order to feel this separation for three days and three nights in the belly of "hell". Nature recoils from the thought of dissolution, which is the consequence of sin. {3SP 161.2} Therefore Jesus pre-existed. For more:- (11) Estrangement in the home.. He who would confess Christ must have Christ abiding in him. He cannot communicate that which hehas not received. The disciples might speak fluently on doctrines, they might repeat the words of ChristHimself; but unless they possessed Christlike meekness and love, they were not confessing Him.The Saviour bade His disciples not to hope that the world's enmity to the gospel would be overcome, and that after a time its opposition would cease. He said, "I came not to send peace, but a sword." Thiscreating of strife is not the effect of the gospel, but the result of opposition to it. Of all persecution thehardest to bear is variance in the home, the estrangement of dearest earthly friends. Estrangement in our home is our hardest daily test of witness...do we really have Jesus meekness and love...not knowledge about Him, but the power flow of Jesus through relationship. Estrangement in our church-home is our hardest weekly test of witness...do we bear the fruit of the Father in us? Do we really have characters worthy that others praise GOD in heaven?
