Ancient Hebrew , can we trust Ancient Hebrew pictographs?

Q:1. Why trust Ancient Hebrew?

These webpages are about Ancient Hebrew...please spend time with this journey. But the reader says:

  • "My Bible in English is already OK?
  • Can we trust a new translation update?
  • Why read Ancient Hebrew anyway?

These are good questions, not easy to answer in a few minutes of your time.

For example, take the translated word as "God":-

In modern Hebrew this word looks like this

The original Hebrew from 3,500 BC looked liked this, the first letter is easy to see, the second letter is drawn over in red by the Author.

The letters do not tell you much about the word do they? But what happens if we show you the letters in a very old Egyptian like script. An Eden like Semitic script called Ancient Hebrew, or Paleo-Hebrew by some scholars...this is very recent research..

The Hebrew spellings are wrong, older scholars say "el" and modern scholars say "al". But if we show you the Ancient Hebrew pictures that correspond with this word, we have:-

Now the Hebrew starts to represent something...assuming the pictures help us with the meaning of the word itself.

The letter "A" is a picture of a bull and means "strong". The next picture is a shepherd's staff and means the "Authority" of the shepherd. Thus we can suggest this Ancient Hebrew word, Strong's number 410, means "strong authority", not necessarily God.

Now because years ago we did not know this Ancient Hebrew script, we assumed Hebrew was a confused bunch of letters, and so scholars have wrongly assumed words in Hebrew have many different meanings. They could not find a way to relate Hebrew words with other Hebrew words, so they assumed no such common link exists. So the scholars invent their own scholarship, they justify their ownership over translation, and thus the meaning of Scripture is beyond an independent believer of child like faith. But this is no longer so...and if you bear some time with us, we will show that Ancient Hebrew works for Scripture meanings of words...not all the time...but often this tool is useful to help us know what God intended to say in Scripture.

We should no longer trust "strong authorities" such as our "Governments", who were supposed to uphold our basic rights, we should no longer trust "strong authorities" like our doctors, who are supposed to make us well, and we should no longer trust our translators bringing us the true and pure words of GOD, because these "Strong authorites" are wanting to change God's word meanings. Why is this ?

  • Re 13:9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
  • 10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
  • 11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Some might know that a beast is a "strong authority" or "government" on earth, and this prophecy refers to the USA, who is a world power that is a symbol of all other "goverment powers" because the USA carries influence all over the world. So as we approach the end of time, all world goverments will eventually speak as a dragon...

Hang on a minute, conspiracy theories?? Really??

Scripture speaks of conspiracy theories, especially in the end of the age:-

Isa 8:12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid

The word translated confederacy is the same for conspiracy...but we are told not to fear them...

Isa 8:13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

The LORD is who we are to fear...God is in control...

  • Isa 8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Here the stone (eben), stated elsewhere in Isaiah 28:16 is a symbol of Jesus, because He becomes one of us, Jesus is laid upon the Father rock (Tsuwr) of offence, and becomes a snare to Jerusalem. Sadly Jesus becomes a snare even in our modern churches.

Isa 8:15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

Many people are taken because they do not study God's words...

Isa 8:16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law (torah) among my disciples.

The testimonies of Jesus are sealed in His torah (the Scriptures) among His disciples. But you have to spend time reading and growing in the power of Jesus torah, His words in the Scriptures.

  • Isa 8:17 And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
  • 18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

Notice the LORD promises signs and wonders to His own, those that wait on Him and spend time with His testimonies in the Scriptures..

Isa 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

Notice what Satan presents as signs and wonders for His own....spirit mediums, wizards, emotional mutterings, the traditions of dead men...

Isa 8:20 To the law (torah) and to the testimony (of Jesus): if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

The signs and wonders God promises are in His words.... see WORDS are important... the WORD is a symbol of Jesus..

  • Isa 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
  • 14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid

Here is one of the very rare places where GOD does a sign and wonder... Yet the people draw near with their mouth but their lips do not honour GOD, they seek the wisdom of scholars, trusting their scholarship. The precepts of men.

Isa 29:18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.

In that day at the end of time, the deaf hear, the blind see the words properly, but many who see become blind...

Isa 29:19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD,

So the sign and wonders GOD promises are meek believers, not Satan's signs and wonders, which satisfy our feelings, our eyes and our ears. God's signs and wonder satisfy our minds, with His words that are pure and true, as He intended them to be written.

That is why Ancient Hebrew is useful. It promises to us the original pure and true meanings of Scripture. Not that Scripture has error. It does NOT. But our translators today are confusing us. How are they confusing us?

For example, Strong's word 410, spelled "el" or "al" means according to Strong, the following meanings:-

  • (1) God (god),
  • (2) goodly,
  • (3) great,
  • (4) idol,
  • (5) might(-y one),
  • (6) power,
  • (7) strong.

See the problem? This Hebrew word "al" can have seven English word meanings...The translators should try to make one English word fit, because this would alert the reader to know each Hebrew word is translated consistently and faithfully.

Now notice what KJV does with this Hebrew word in some verses, and what Ancient Hebrew meanings do as well:-

Ps 80:10 The hills were covered .. (with).. the goodly "'el" cedars ('erez).. (KJV)

The hills were covered (with) the strong authority of cedars

Ps 36:6 Thy righteousness is like the great "'el" mountains (harar).. (KJV)

Thy righteousness is like the strong authority of mountains

Isa 57:5 Enflaming yourselves with idols "'el".. (KJV)

Enflaming yourselves with (other) strong authorities (idols)

Eze 32:21 The strong "'el" among the mighty (gibbowr).. (KJV)

The strong authority among the mighty humans..

See it is possible to make Scripture words consistent in meaning. God is a "strong authority". But so is an idol, and a cedar tree and even a mountain, are symbols of strong authorities. This was a long introduction to Ancient Hebrew, but it is important you see all the Scripture verses yourself. And whole passages of Scripture are shown, not just a verse here and there.

So if you want to develop into a true Christian like Christ, you have to spend quality time with His words.

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus is the WORD that came down to us in person, but Jesus is also a symbol of Scripture words.

Ex 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law(torah), or no.

Jesus is the WORD that came down to us from heaven, as the symbol of bread, as the symbol of torah in Scripture, which is a symbol of rain.

On the next web page are presented simple pictures to prove to the reader why Ancient Hebrew is useful.
