Q19: Welcome to prayer training by Jesus.. Understand the childlike foundations first:-
Consider prayer 15:-
Prayer 15:1 LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
John Wesley, a famous follower of Jesus writes "LORD-YHWH-Jesus who shall abide in thy Church? Who shall dwell in heaven?"
This prayer asks the question, Lord-Jesus who shall dwell with you in heaven?
The answer requires us to carefully investigate some Hebrew words:-
The Hebrew word "halak" means to "walk", according to Jeff Benner; and has both verb and noun forms. The pictograph means "Behold the Person! With authority on palms".
Notice the picture from the pictographs. The walking stick or cane, is a simile of the person's authority, is in his palms, and so he walks on a journey.
Jeff Benner translates this word in the verb form as "walk", but the Author is not so sure...Notice the image also of the road, the Author suspects the word more likely means "journey" or "travel".
This Hebrew word "yalak" more likely means "Walk". The pictograph reads "The active hands with authority on palms".
Notice the picture from the pictographs. This Hebrew word more likely means "walking".
Notice the Author is using the Ancient Hebrew pictograph meanings to help tell the difference between two Hebrew words. You shouldn't have two different Hebrew words with the same English meanings.
Notice these contexts for "yalak" and "halak":-
Ge 2:14 And the name of the third river [is] Hiddekel: that [is] it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river [is] Euphrates.
The river "travelled" towards the east... (rivers do not walk do they?)
Ge 13:17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.
Arise "travel" throughout the land...
Ex 3:19 And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.
Pharoah will not let you "travel" by my mighty hand.
De 1:30 The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
The Lord your Elohiym shall "travel" before you, and fight for you. How come Israel fought and killed people, rather than allowing God fight and do it for them? They had fallen into Baal master powers of self, they did not support that GOD would fight for them.
This is one example that answers the difference between the OT and NT times, with the same Lord of Love.
Jg 5:6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.
Here the KJV is translated correctly for both Hebrew words.
1Sa 8:3 And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.
His sons "travelled" not on his road, but turned aside...It is important to travel straight on the road of life...
1Ki 9:4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, [and] wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:
If thou walk before me, as David thy father "travelled" in completeness of heart...
Notice the "noun form of halak" :-
1Sa 14:26 And when the people were come into the wood, behold, the honey dropped; but no man put his hand to his mouth: for the people feared the oath.
The KJV treats this "noun" as a "verb" because they cannot translate the "noun" honey next to the "noun" halak very well, or consistently.
The people in the woods came across honey "which had already travelled"....
2Sa 12:4 And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
Here is the only other context of the noun form. And there came one "which had already travelled" unto the rich man...
Notice the Author translates "halak" as a verb as "travelling" and "halak" as a noun as "which had already travelled" to indicate the actions incomplete and the actions completed. This is a better consistent approach to the Hebrew.
The other Hebrew word with the active hand on the walking cane, more likely meaning to "walk".
This Hebrew word is related to "tamiym" but a more parent root, according to Jeff Benner also means "whole".
Job 1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect (tam) and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.
The difference between these two Hebrew words is not much. Perhaps "tam" is "baby-complete" and "tamiym" is "complete" or "active-complete". There are different stages of completeness in Hebrew thinking.
This Hebrew word "tamiym" is translated by Jeff Benner as "whole". The pictograph reads "Towards an important mark flows the active hand flowing" and this pictures your hands doing things that are important to GOD.
Consider some contexts:-
Ge 6:9 .. Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Noah as more actively complete than Job, yet both were saved in the end. Noah rested from the great flood, and got naked from excessive drinking, demonstrates that even Noah was subject to missing occasionally. The concept of being complete is your relationship with Elohiym is functional, active and your hearing the still small voice of Elohiym speaking to you, via the Holy Spirit.
Ge 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD (YHWH) "Lord Jesus" appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I (am) the Almighty (shadday) "Holy Spirit" God (el) "Strong Authority"; walk (halak) "travel" before me, and be thou perfect (tamiym) "complete".
Notice Jesus and the Holy Spirit (Shadday), both are named Persons carying the Father's flow of salvation befoe Abram. Why the presence of the Shadday? The Holy Spirit functions as a medium to allow the presence of YHWH before Abram, so that Abram does not cease to exist because of the encounter with Elohiym. The properties of a medium "change the glory of Elohiym" so that mankind does not perish. Mediums can make things appear magnified or diminished, upright or upside down, and always channels energy that is not personally it's own.
For more see Medium properties of Spirit
Ex 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish..
Your lamb shall be complete. A strange context, hence the KJV saying "without blemish" saying the idea of complete as a double negative. If the lamb had a defect or a disease of any kind, it would not be complete. The lamb was a simile of an animal without known sinning. This was a poetry picture of Jesus, the Lamb of Elohiym who dies for our missing relationship to Elohiym.
Le 3:9 And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat thereof, and the whole rump, it shall he take off hard by the backbone;...
Notice the KJV uses the translation here are "whole" to describe the rump when removed. The "complete rump" was removed.
De 32:4 (He is) the Rock, his work (is) perfect: for all his ways (are) judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right (is he). (KJV)
The Father Rock works complete, his road judges, a Strong Authority of Support, without iniquity, (who is) straight, (as a cord is) straight (Ancient Hebrew)
The translation has some interesting features of our Father in heaven. A relationship with our heavenly Father is complete, his road always judges you, or watches over you, because the Father supports you as you respond supporting the Father.
For more see study of support or "faith"
Jos 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth:
Therefore respect the YHWH, work with Him completely with support...(Ancient Hebrew)
If the heavenly Father' road is always judging us or watching over us, when we are followers of the Father, we are complete as we Support Elohiym.
How many followers of Elohiym know what "faith" really means? And how we have "Faith"?
The Author finds memorizing the "promised WORDS of power" difficult already, since with just 15 prayers already studied in Scripture, there are dozens of "prayer promises of power" the Author has forgotten already. Hence the need to revise the WORD and ask Jesus to help us support him.
Ps 18:30 As for God (el) "Strong Authority", his way is perfect (tamiyim) "complete": the word (imrah) "Word-personified" of the LORD (YHWH) is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
Elohiym is a family of Persons interested in our salvation. YHWH is not in heaven alone as a single numerical one, as Jews and Muslims think. How does this verse tell us? Because the Hebrew word "imrah" means the Word-personified, was a Divine Being. Some who doubt Jesus as the Word-personified as a Divine Person already pre-existing, get around this conclusion by saying the the Word-personified was just in the loins of the Father, and came forth later.
Such people destroy the words of John:-
"Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the "imrah", and the "imrah" was with "Elohiym", and the "imrah" was "Elohiym"."
If you read Scripture as it reads, as a child does, there are dozens of passages that tell us Jesus has been the Son of the Father from eternity. The OT "imrah" was present as a Personal Power to save those who supported the Words-personifed in prayer, just as NT followers of the Words-personified in prayer do. Salvation has not changed. The just shall live by their support (Hab. 2:4)
Ps 19:7 The law (torah) "teachings" of the LORD (YHWH) "Father Lord" is perfect (tamiym) "complete", converting the soul: the testimony (eduwth) "witness" of the LORD (Lord Jesus) is sure, making wise the simple.
Notice the teachings of the heavenly Father are complete. Notice the word "witness" implies another Divine Being also as YHWH, representing the teachings of the Father, as the WORD-PERSONIFIED, supports the Father's teachings. The Hebrew word "amen" translated as "sure" is the same Hebrew words that mean "support".
Thus the Father's teachings and the Son's teachings are witnesses to each other. Both are found in Scripture. When we support Jesus, we also support our Father in heaven. The word "YHWH" is a community reference to two Family members of Elohiym supporting each other.
Mt 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect (tamiyim) {teleios} "complete", even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
This NT verse says the same thing ever so easily. Be complete as your Father in heaven is complete.
Mt 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect (tamiyim) {teleios} "complete", go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
The rich young man was following the directions of the Father, so he thought all the days from his youth, yet he thought he lacked something. He was following GOD using His Baal master powers of self. Jesus saw this and gave the man a Baal master power that by himself he could not achieve. He told the man to sell all he has and than come and follow Jesus. The rich young man saw the cost of hopping over from Baal master powers of self, to the powers of Jesus as a ruler over your life was too great. So he went away sad.
Jesus challenged the man to be complete, he was almost all a follower of Jesus, almost a Christian, but wholly lost. This is a Hebrew pun written by our Hebrew English translator, the SOP. Jesus said to the man, if you want to be whole, go sell all you have, give it to the poor, than thou shall treasure in heaven than come and follow me, otherwise you can be almost whole following me, but be also wholly lost. Catch the play on words?
Sad isn't it? Many following Jesus, do not suppport Him, but follow Him as foolish virgins do, without extra powers of Jesus inside them, not completely whole and so wholly lost.
Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect (tamiyim) {teleios} "complete" in Christ Jesus:
We have to be complete in Jesus. Or be made whole in Jesus. No blemishes. No diseases. Nothing lacking.
Col 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect (tamiyim) {teleios} "complete" and complete (mala 4390) {pleroo 4137} "filled" in all the will of God.
Notice two Greek words used side by side, almost similar meanings. The Hebrew context implies our prayers must be complete and be filled with Jesus and His power. We do this by supporting Jesus with His words.
Jas 1:25 But whoso looketh into theperfect (tamiyim) {teleios} "complete" law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Some Internet websites say the Ten Commandments of the Father, does not save, but here it says the complete teachings of liberty. What makes the teachings a complete way of liberty? When we support Jesus and His words, He empowers us to support our heavenly Father. But the follower of Jesus has to be a doer of Jesus' words. There is no point praying over promised words of power, if such power does not refresh you while your refreshing others around you. Love is a community circuit of sharing powers, fruit or character with others.
1Jo 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect (tamiyim) {teleios} "complete" love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Finally complete love casts out fear and trembling. When you have a complete relationship with Jesus and our heavenly Father, via the Holy Spirit, our love responds with respect, but not fear. We are awed by Elohiym's majesty, like the simile display of lightning in the storm before the refreshing showers than fall over us later.
Now that we have studied these two Hebrew words, let's consider the answer to the prayer: Who shall dwell with you in heaven?
Ps 15:2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. (KJV)
Can't see the words correctly?
Prayer 15:2 He that travels completely, working straightness, speaking words of support, in his heart-feelings. (Ancient Hebrew)
Does the reader understand, who shall dwell in heaven? Only those to travel with Elohiym completely. We must speak in prayer words of support, which come as heart-feelings, or emotions when Elohiym's power flows through us. Than our relationship is no longer pointless, but a straight one, because we are minute by minute connected hand in hand with Jesus, who makes us straight.
Our Father in heaven, thank you for Your words of salvation, we can read;
thank you for making Jesus, your Son, the WORD personified,
may we bring forth your fruits of character in their season,
when we support Jesus' words, help us to travel completely, we support Jesus words. Amen
Notice the list of things that David prays about, helping us define the travelling a follower of Jesus does which is complete:-
Those who have estrangement in the home, with our loved ones around us and our family members who us, say:
Ps 42:10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God (elohiym)?
Here is the same Hebrew word, our closest friends and family, daily mock and pierce us with words saying "Where is Elohiym and this wonder of power flowing through your life"?
The Author remembers as a youth, Pastors saying there are no miracles in modern times. Other Pastors say there is no voice of Elohiym speaking to us via our conscience. We walk with Elohiym just by faith they say, as if Elohiym was silent and unseen.
Is this how the daily flow of power from Jesus is? Unseen and silent. Our fruits cannot be seen? Our members closest to us pierce us with taunting words, "Where is your Elohiym"?
God is not dead. Power flows everywhere all around us. We need only ask by supporting His words, for the wonderful flow of Jesus to refresh us daily. But notice this refreshing which flows from His Heart empowering your soul is also for the souls of others.
Salvation is a community of living souls, just as the heart pumps a flow of blood over the community of living cells. There is a simile here every day how salvation works. We must become a refeshing catalyst for community, using Jesus' powers of refeshing.
Prayer and fasting is relational.
For more read Fasting and prayer is for?
Notice :-
Isa 58: 5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Can't catch the message from the Holy Spirit speaking to us?
Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day;...
Most think Sabbath is for ceasing, after all the word is a day of ceasing, that's what the Hebrew word means. So you can't do anything pleasurable, you can't work, it's like Sabbath has become a fasting of activity.
Is that what prayer and fasting is for? No.
We are to be doing redemption on Sabbath. Not doing your pleasure, yes, but doing the Lord's pleasure instead. Most of us cringe when is comes to witnessing. Stressful, hard work. If our love refreshes only ourselves, what kind of love is this?
Selfish love, a love that is dysfunctional and destructive. Such love means nothing to GOD. Love is only complete when refreshing love redeems other souls around us. Love is a community of giving and receiving. Love is relational.
The Hebrew word for "humble" is to be your brother's keeper, to watch out for them, to be ready always to be refeshing them with your wonderful flows of Jesus.
"aniy" "humble"
For more see Humble study
Dorcas was looking over the people with active hands, and thus according to the Sola Scriptoria definition of this Hebrew word, Dorcas was humble. She was also kind.
This is the fasting and prayer purpose of the wonderful flow of Jesus. It refreshes others. It is humble.
Who shall dwell in heaven with Jesus? David prays the answer with negatives. Let's answer this prayer looking at the positive things we do to be complete:-
As we learn to support others, they in turn will respect and support us back. Love works like this, either others will respond positively or negatively to your loving, but they will respond.
But first you have to be involved in community, "looking over the nations with active hands", this is true humility.
Next we consider prayer 16:
