Q49: 56. Blessing the Children Show the Desire of Ages is inspired.. (1) Except we become as little children... Jesus was ever a lover of children. He accepted their childish sympathy and their open, unaffected love. The grateful praise from their pure lips was music in His ears, and refreshed His spirit when oppressedby contact with crafty and hypocritical men. Mt 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. The Greek word "strepho" means to "turn around", not to be "converted" which is misleading... Mt 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be turned around, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Lu 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. The translation implies Peter wasn't a true Christian with Jesus for several years, until this terrible pride encounter with Peter's baal self powers. Lu 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou "turned around", strengthen thy brethren. So what's happening here? Peter is getting another subduing process by the Holy Spirit, as he surrenders his "Baal Masters Powers of Self", he begins to accept the "master powers of Jesus ruling over him"and thus we see "surrender" or "subdue" as a process of deepening the relationship with Jesus. It does not imply Peter had no relationship with Jesus. This is why "subdue" or "surrender" is not a salvational step to Jesus, but a growing process of knowing more and more about Jesus in His relationship. Notice we have to turn again and become like little children. Why? Because their "baal master power of self" is so underdeveloped, they trust others easily, and are not so overburdened with self.Little children are more trusting...we older ones have to turn around and become like little children...Shalom For more (2) Poetry figures of a mother.. Even the babe in its mother's armsmay dwell as under the shadow of the Almighty through the faith of the praying mother. John theBaptist was filled with the Holy Spirit from his birth. If we will live in communion with God, we toomay expect the divine Spirit to mold our little ones, even from their earliest moments. The Spirit of Prophecy says a poetry figure or parallel here, many of us miss:- Dwelling under a shadow we need two objects, the Source of light as a Divine Being, and an object blocking the Light, as a Divine Being. The earthly dwelling mother dwells in the shadow of the Shadday, praying for her little children. The SOP links dwelling under the shadow of the "almighty" as "communion with God" or "elohiym" is correct, as a shadow is made observable by two Divine Beings, the Father as a source of light, and the Mother as the Holy Spirit, causing the shadow. And in simple poetry pictures we get this picture from the SOP, many of us miss it's message. The Holy Spirit as a motherly figure collects us as her children, praying over them before Jesus our Saviour, and the Father our strong one in the heavenly home. For more (3) Keep truth simple.. He knew that these children would listen to Him and accept Him as their Redeemer far more readilythan would grown-up people, many of whom were the worldly-wise and hardhearted. In His teachingHe came down to their level. He, the Majesty of heaven, did not disdain to answer their questions, andsimplify His important lessons to meet their childish understanding. He planted in their minds the seedsof truth, which in after years would spring up, and bear fruit unto eternal life. A teacher's job of teaching, is to make complex things simple to understand. "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." A quote from Albert Einstein. Why do human teachers make and invent non-Bible words to increase complexity? Because they do not want children to be saved. They seek to rise in pride and so make scholarship out of salvation. Human translators are also teachers of the Hebrew and invent multiple meanings to increase complexity? Because they do not want children to read how simple salvation is. This website is about keeping salvation simple, but not simpler, making salvation true according to Sola Scriptoria, not according to human ideas or human traditions. Thus to do this we have to read the Holy Writings in Ancient Hebrew and study the writings how the Writings say they should be studied. (4) Jesus functions as a Mother.. As the mother teaches her children to obey her because they love her, she is teaching them the firstlessons in the Christian life. The mother's love represents to the child the love of Christ, and the littleones who trust and obey their mother are learning to trust and obey the Saviour. Where does the Writings say Jesus functions as a Mother? Mt 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!(KJV) Mt 23:37 ... how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a bird gathereth her birdlings under her wings, and ye would not!(Ancient Hebrew) Where does this Writing come from? De 32:11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: (KJV) This Writing uses the term "fluttereth" only three times in the OT, and is a reference to a functional simile of the Holy Spirit, who functions as a Mother. Here we see Jesus as a "figure of the Holy Spirit's function" and in this poetry example both the Holy Spirit and Jesus are referred to. We think in Western eyes, not Hebrew eyes, so do the Writings also make Jesus function as our Heavenly Father? Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. So Jesus functions as a mother and father functions, but this does not mean Jesus is the Holy Spirit, or that Jesus is our heavenly Father. Where does the Writings say GOD functions as a family? Eph 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, This is the only writing in the entire Writings that make "elohiym" into a "family" concept, with the Father, and the Holy Spirit and Jesus their Son. The Hebrew word "family" tells us the "flow continues" but in the OT "elohiym is not referenced as a family" for a reason, because GOD does not continue, nor is subject to time. But in the NT, such a concept is suggested because Jesus functions as one who continues the flow of the love of Elohiym over His redeemed, and in this sense, a "Family concept of Elohiym" is engineered as Jesus came down from heaven to save sinners by becoming a brother born of humanity like us, and thus becomes our father in this sense. If we think of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as a "divine family" all our mysteries and wonders cease, and we make the Writings simple to understand. Therefore cease using the word "trinity" which is NOT a Hebrew word, and use "family" instead. Shalom (5) Jesus functions as Object Lessons. Teach the children to see Christ in nature. Take them out into the open air, under the noble trees, intothe garden; and in all the wonderful works of creation teach them to see an expression of His love.Teach them that He made the laws which govern all living things, that He has made laws for us, andthat these laws are for our happiness and joy. Salvation is best understood when compared to natural object lessons. Ps 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; We grow as similes as trees grow. Jesus is the Sunlight/Sonlight. The Father is the fruit in us. The Holy Spirit is the water, the air and the administrator of the salvation process, just as water carries everything in the cell, the Holy Spirit carries everything for our salvation. Ps 1:4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Dried out leaves falls from the tree because they have no relationship with the tree anymore. The Holy Spirit which supplied life to those leaves now blows them away because they no longer have relationship with GOD. This picture is also a figure how "death" is, the "cessation of relationship", not the "cessation of biochemical reactions". Mt 13:3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; Behold the Lover went forth to love... Jesus is our lover.. Jesus is our farmer...we are the soil... the Seed are smaller packages of Jesus thrown into the Soil of the Nations, so Jesus can grow inside of us. For more on this see the latter rains of Jesus Isa 28:24 Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break the clods of his ground? Does the Plough plough all day to sow? Hebrew loves word puns, the same meanings in verb and noun forms... Here the clod is a simile of us with pride, and the plough cracks us open and weathers us into fine tilth so we are humble and lowly enough to receive the Seed. Ho 10:13 Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men. Ploughing wickedness is the Hebrew term for fornication, and is a ploughing process of many seeds, where one cares not for marriage to GOD or marriage to man, the person cares not for relationship but to self, to have fun being alone, and abusing relationships for personal gain. Such people make inherited environnmental changes to their genes or epi-genetic propensities to grow, they trust their own "baal master powers of self" and follow the example of the crowd. The traditions of men. Since Israel was mostly an agricultural nation, many object lessons about Jesus come as agricultural, but there are examples of other object lessons. 1Jo 1:5 .. that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. Light, darkness, shadows and sin-offerings not unto death, are all object lessons in 1 John... For more see The next chapter of Desire of Ages..we look at "One Thing Thou Lackest" |
