light we live by, unpopular truth, define family of God

Q17: 24. . . "Is Not This the Carpenter's Son?"

Show the Desire of Ages is inspired..

(1) The light we have we are judged by..

Our standing before God depends, not upon the amount of light we have received, but upon the use wemake of what we have. Thus even the heathen who choose the right as far as they can distinguish it arein a more favorable condition than are those who have had great light, and profess to serve God, butwho disregard the light, and by their daily life contradict their profession.

Mt 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

This parable speaks of Jesus who is a hard man, always expecting His Seed to make a useful harvest...many are afraid of using Jesus power and love...

Mt 25:28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

  • 29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

To those who grow into a big tree, more water and more food from Jesus is required for daily growth...but bigger trees promise more fruit...and more shade helps others stay cool..

Ho 14:6 His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

  • 7 They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine:
  • Ro 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
  • 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

We are judged by the light we receive..but do not be afraid to grow more in Jesus...today in Him, every day is a day of paradise...

    (2) Define family..

From what dangers, seen and unseen, we have been preserved through the interposition of the angels, we shall never know, until in the light of eternity we see the providences of God. Then we shall know that the whole familyof heaven was interested in the family here below, and that messengers from the throne of Godattended our steps from day to day.

The Spirit of Prophecy seems to define "family" as "GOD and His angels" ??

Does SOP suggest GOD is a family as a kind ?

{CH 222.1} The Godhead was stirred with pity for the race, and the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit gave Themselves to the working out of the plan of redemption. 6T.091.003 Bapti sm is a most solemn renunciation of the world. Those who are baptized in the threefold name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, at the very entrance of their Christian life declare publicly that they have forsaken the service of Satan and have become members of the royal family, children of the Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord "YAHWEH" Almighty "Shadday"." 2 Corinthians 6: 17, 18

Eph 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

  • 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
  • 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

The SOP uses the term "royal family" just as Hebrew uses the term "royal law" suggesting that GOD is a "family kind" that the Father Son and Holy Spirit, are similes of a Family as we humans consider a family on earth.

  • (3) Study OT seeking Jesus in the NT..

They clung to their creed and their uselessceremonies when the truth of Heaven awaited their acceptance. They spent their money for chaff andhusks, when the bread of life was within their reach. Why did they not go to the word of God, andsearch diligently to know whether they were in error? The Old Testament Scriptures stated plainlyevery detail of Christ's ministry, and again and again He quoted from the prophets, and declared, "Thisday is this scripture fulfilled in your ears." If they had honestly searched the Scriptures, bringing theirtheories to the test of God's word, Jesus need not have wept over their impenitence. He need not havedeclared, "Behold, your house is left unto you desolate." Luke 13:35.

The Scriptures during the NT times of Jesus was the OT, written in Hebrew...not English and not Greek...yet today humans read their own creeds, without checking how the truth is to be obtained...

    (4) Truth is unpopular..

Truth was unpopular in Christ's day. It is unpopular in our day. It has been unpopular ever since Satanfirst gave man a disrelish for it by presenting fables that lead to self-exaltation. Do we not today meettheories and doctrines that have no foundation in the word of God? Men cling as tenaciously to them asdid the Jews to their traditions.

A common popular creed that has no Bible foundation is

  • The Holy Spirit is a "He"..

Sure there is a few NT translations that make this error, if humans want to trust human translators, than we can make any creed we like. But does the entire OT and NT in Hebrew, suggest the Holy Spirit is a "he" ? NO it doesn't...
