End of time, knowledge shall increase

Q16: 23. . "The Kingdom of God Is at Hand"

Show the Desire of Ages is inspired..

(1) An increase in knowledge..

A starting point for thisperiod is given: "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment torestore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore andtwo weeks," sixty-nine weeks, or four hundred and eighty-three years. Dan. 9:25. The commandment torestore and build Jerusalem, as completed by the decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus (see Ezra 6:14; 7:1,9, margin), went into effect in the autumn of B. C. 457.

As the message of Christ's first advent announced the kingdom of His grace, so the message of Hissecond advent announces the kingdom of His glory. And the second message, like the first, is based onthe prophecies. The words of the angel to Daniel relating to the last days were to be understood in thetime of the end. At that time, "many shall run to and fro, and knowledge (da`ath) shall be increased." "Thewicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand."Dan. 12:4, 10. The Saviour Himself has given signs of His coming, and He says, "When ye see thesethings come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand."

Da 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge (da`ath) "tree of knowledge" shall be increased.

There are many Hebrew words translated "knowledge"...so what makes each Hebrew word different? By looking at the letters of Ancient Hebrew, we get a clue to the special applications of each word:-

  • "The door of the soul sees" is knowing things by observation. But there is a difference in the knowledge gender males sees to what gender females sees.

    Job 36:3 I will fetch my "maleness knowledge" from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

    Isa 28:9 � Whom shall he teach "femaleness knowledge"? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

    Notice the contrasting difference of GOD and mankind in these two verses... Scripture knowledge comes to us as a Mother teaches her young child...is a figure how the Holy Spirit is our teacher of all things.

  • "The door of the soul sees towards the mark" is the knowledge of special importance, of the general "Tree of Knowledge", the cross letter is a figure of wood or a tree, and is used to describe the tree of knowlege of function and dysfunction in the Garden of Eden.

    This is the knowledge that increases at the end of time, all kinds of knowledge that is special and important, including an increase in the meanings of Scripture, shall increase.

    "The flowing door of the soul sees" is "mada" or the knowledge of science, what is see, flows onto other things..as seen in Daniel 1:17.

    "The active door of the soul sees" is "yada" is the most common word used for knowledge and refers to the intimate relationship of knowledge, one who knows like the back of his hand..

    The Spirit of Prophecy agrees with the Bible that at the end of time "knowledge shall increase"... We see an explosion of knowledge today, some of it good and some of it not so good. The best increase of knowledge, is how to know Jesus, to have "yada" or "intimate knowledge" with Him. Shalom
