Q18: 25. . . The Call by the Sea..

Show the Desire of Ages is inspired..

(1) Why use Master & Lord?

Love for his Master, shame for his own unbelief, gratitude for the condescension of Christ, above all, the sense of his uncleanness in the presence ofinfinite purity, overwhelmed him. While his companions were securing the contents of the net, Peterfell at the Saviour's feet, exclaiming, "Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

Why does the SOP use both Master and Lord, when Scripture uses LORD all the time?

So as not to discourge a child like reader of faith, how else do you deal with fuzzy translations that use both Master and Lord? What do you say about scholars who say Jesus was only a Master, not a Lord in heaven? The fuzzy translations tell you this ...

Eph 6:9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master (kurios) also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

Lu 5:8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord (kurios).

See the problem? How can a Greek word have two totally different English meanings...Lord and Master...

Better translators, like Martin Luther do a better job of translating the Scriptures.

See a translation study of Lord.

(2) Why use unschooled ?

Jesus chose unlearned fishermen because they had not been schooled in the traditions and erroneouscustoms of their time. They were men of native ability, and they were humble and teachable,--menwhom He could educate for His work.

Men who have not been schooled by human schools of tradition...in other words brain-washed by false customs and traditions...

Men who are raw, teachable, humble and lowly.

Isa 29:12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

  • 13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Schooled men taught by masonic education cannot read the Holy Writings, because such people are not learned...they come near Jesus, but their hearts are far away...fake Christians...

Isa 29:14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder:

Jesus promises to do a wonder and miracle with His Holy Writings...

Isa 29:18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.

The blind sees, the deaf hears, the Holy Writings come to these people...how ?

Isa 29:19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD,...

The meek shall increase...this is the promised miracle and wonder, Jesus allows His Holy Writings to come into you...and increase joy in you...

Isa 29:24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

We can come to the Holy Writings and not err, and learn truth correctly...

Isa 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it,

The "how" is answered here, the Holy Spirit talks audibly to you via the conscience of your mind...

Ro 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the (nomos)(torah) "the teachings", do by nature the things contained in the (nomos)(torah) "the teachings", these, having not the (nomos)(torah) "the teachings", are a (nomos)(torah) "teacher" unto themselves:

  • 15 Which shew the work of the (nomos)(torah) "the teachings" written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness,...

Written correctly, the NT says the same thing...

Ac 8:29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

Ac 10:19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

How do we know we have the correct "spirit" speaking to us ?

1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try "test" the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

We should test the "spirits" that come our way... test them against what ?

Mt 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.(KJV)

    (3) Life begats life...

It is not the highest work of education to communicate knowledge merely, but to impart that vitalizingenergy which is received through the contact of mind with mind, and soul with soul. It is only life thatcan beget life. What privilege, then, was theirs who for three years were in daily contact with thatdivine life from which has flowed every life-giving impulse that has blessed the world!

The Spirit of Prophecy says "It is only life thatcan beget life."

    What a profound statement!

  • (1) words are written down, studied with eyes and the mind

  • (2) words spoken are not written down, the words come from the mind speaking to GOD, and the ears hear

  • (3) fruit are symbols of life lured by others from smells promising abundant living, such fruit is not written down, nor spoken, but shared via relationship; but as life begats life, so fruit empowers life in others...

Notice the three stage, steps of Jesus from easiest to hardest....

The SOP statement is also found in he Holy Writings:-

Ex 21:23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,

Jesus came to offer his eternal life for our eternal death...a perfect match, life for life...This proves Jesus was not a mere sinless man, for such an offering is not a life for a life, the match is unequal...since a mere man has no divinity..How much Jesus and the Father loves us to make such an offering for sinners like you and me.

  • Notice the fruit of the Holy Spirit are actions involving relationship...

Words the eyes see from the Bible, the eyes read in your mind, or thoughts about Jesus the eye sees from Creation.

Words spoken, that the mouth speaks and ears of your conscience hear, is about you gaining a closer relationship with GOD, experimenting with His power of faith through prayer.

Words that come as fruits of character from Jesus, that the hands share with others and that people come to you seeking God's blessings, is the highest evidence that the relationship is completed with the Father's fruit of love.

Ga 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is maleness-love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

  • 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law "teachings".
  • 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
  • 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
  • 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one a nother, envying one another.

During our Creation, a relationship with GOD was formed, the breath of life, is the actual presence of the Father via the Holy Spirit that lives personally in all humans (all living things for that matter too). With humans the relationship is special because God places a "will" in it, so the "living thing" can choose to continue in the relationship and not to continue in the relationship.

Ec 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

The "spirit of man" is the "character of man", that is administrated by the Holy Spirit, is the partnered relationship of GOD with man, and is recorded upwards so that mankind can choose to live forever in a relationship, if the man chooses to partner with GOD..in salvation through Jesus.. Notice humans who are saved do not own their "character" and take it to heaven...there is no Hebrew word alone meaning "Character", the word also means the "Holy Spirit" thus the term relates to a "Relationship" we take to heaven, if we choose to live in Jesus and His power of relationship...

But the first earthly parents each went away from relationship with GOD, towards another Being known as Satan, the missing caused a broken relationship with GOD forever. The relationship immediately daily began dying, but GOD in His love strained to keep the relationship going even if it was broken.

Ge 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely (muwth) die (muwth)"dying die".

Notice the word "dying" is written twice in Hebrew...so much for translators hey? This is important because the relationship daily died and mankind eventually moved further and further from God...the first relationship is broken forever, and eventually leads to complete separation of GOD (the second death)..

When we experience the first death, this is actually the session of the relationship with the "will" so that the "living machinery" ends with character development in a "sleep", some other cells might continue living because GOD empowers not only all things, but also the atoms themselves with existence from His quantum force. The second death experience is different, is when GOD leaves all His powers from matter, and everything, including "atoms of dust" falls to the ground into a state of non-existence. Thus the second death is really the permanent separation of relationship, it is an ended relationship with GOD, it is the end of matter itself.

But humans assume they can come to GOD, pray for some of His power, and live in their broken relationship using human powers alone...this kind of relationship is not a relationship with GOD...it is broken...it is broken because Adam first sinned and it is broken because you daily sin, and it is broken because at no time do you ever live in GOD's relationship of power... You are really all alone, that is why Jesus says "depart from me, I never knew (yada) you" there is no intimate relationship there...(Matthew 25:12)

This is why verse 24 says ( they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.) we are crucified with Jesus in our flesh, the old broken relationship is gone, finished.. with its affections and lusts.. proving the old relationship is the cause of our sinning..

And where does this old relationship that is broken get its dysfunction from ? From Satan ruling over you, claiming to be prince of your broken relationship...(Romans 5:17-19)

Ro 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were ruled sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be ruled righteous.

If you doubt the poor translation here for the Greek word "kathi stemi" see how to read your Bible correctly here using this word "kathistemi" as an example..

Jesus acknowledged this claim, and said "the prince of this world will be driven out when I am lifted up" (John 12:31-32) This is why the old nature, the broken relationship, must be destroyed on the Cross, the price for a new chance of a new relationship with GOD, replacing your broken relationship with a ongoing relationship of eternal life, cost Jesus eternally as well...but so much was His loving for you...

And so through the Holy Spirit, via the sacrifice of Jesus, the flow of the Father's love can come into us because our relationship with GOD is fully restored...

And as verse 26 says, we will not spoil our relationship to GOD, because our relationship with others comes not from ourselves or from other people, but directly and only from GOD...

Why do we provoke and envy others in Church? is because we ourselves do not fully believe our relationship with GOD is complete, so we seek the relationship with others instead...This shows our relationship with GOD is faulty... If we are truly with GOD in relationship, and we share His fruit with others, we will not be destroyed by others who mock us, or scoff because they do not have what you have, and so sap you down to their level of human powers of broken relationship... Instead, look to GOD, be a tree bearing the Father's fruit, if such sharing of the Father is mocked and abused, it is not your concern, your relationship with GOD does NOT depend upon acceptance with humans...even though we are constrained to love them as GOD loves us...

Imagine the pain Jesus went through, what Paul calls the "thorns in the sides of his flesh" other church goers who mocked Paul and his relationship with GOD... church people can be very thorny because they seek the kingdom of GOD, without a relationship with GOD, but on their own, using human power, and a broken daily dying relationship (the old former nature) that means nothing to GOD, even though GOD sustains your will a little longer so you can choose to "cross over" to Him and begin a brand new relationship that is not broken through Jesus.

Receive the Seed of Jesus into your mind. Choose daily to follow Him. Claim specific seed promises of power for that day. Is this not easy to do? Do not worry about what the Seed will do, or how Jesus does this in you...just accept Jesus daily through His faith, a gift of His gracious power freely given to those who seek...

The seedling relationship grows in you, and you become a partner with Jesus...His hands remain with your hands, and you both walk and do in relationship...Is this not easy to understand? Even a child can grow and watch the results of growing that comes from GOD...sure there is a little work we humans do in this partnered stewardship, but all the growing power comes from Jesus...We need only direct this growing in our lives as we walk and talk without ceasing to Jesus in relationship.

Finally when the Father's fruit is complete in us, the Holy Spirit imparts this fruit of the Father because of your daily relationship with Jesus, to others, and so we share God's food with others...As the SOP says life begats life. It is a living relationship with Jesus, that causes others to take notice something is divine about you and your walk with GOD...

Not that humans can boast, because relationship is not our own, nor owned by any human or Divine person alone, relationship is a partnered stewardship of abiding in the Father's flow of love, relationship is a community concept, just as Elohiym is also highly relational. Shalom

    (4) Through a relationship...

God takes men as they are, and educates them for His service, if they will yield themselves to Him. TheSpirit of God, received into the soul, will quicken all its faculties. Under the guidance of the HolySpirit, the mind that is devoted unreservedly to God develops harmoniously, and is strengthened tocomprehend and fulfill the requirements of God. The weak, vacillating character becomes changed toone of strength and steadfastness. Continual devotion establishes so close a relation between Jesus andHis disciple that the Christian becomes like Him in mind and character. Through a connection withChrist he will have clearer and broader views. His discernment will be more penetrative, his judgmentbetter balanced. He who longs to be of service to Christ is so quickened by the life-giving power of theSun of Righteousness that he is enabled to bear much fruit to the glory of God.

Read this passage a few times and take note how the SOP is speaking about relationship.

There is no Hebrew word for "relationship" because such a concept is a "noun" and Hebrew concepts are mostly verbs...actions...

So there are Hebrew words that describe our relationship with GOD..such as:-

Na 1:7 The LORD is good (towb), a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth (yada) them that trust (chacah) in him.

We see GOD is good, we can trust GOD, we can become intimate with GOD. (Yada is the highest word to know...to know something so well it becomes a part of you)

Mt 9:28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.

  • 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

Here are two more relationship action words we need, to believe GOD can do with us, and have faith His power works in us..

Some think faith is just believing GOD is powerful and leave the relationship part of faith out...that's like saying I believe in electricity, but I do not use it's power, is dead faith... We have to use the relationship of faith, we have to believe in the relationship of power, we have to trust the relationship with GOD...

Is there a work everyday for us? Yes...a farmer will tell you sowing seeds is not the only thing we have to do... The seeds need water (holy spirit). The seeds need weeding from weeds (watch where your eyes see, so that you will not fall into sinful weeds) The seedling needs protection from wicked ones (watch where you walk so that wicked ones will not walk and trample upon Jesus inside you. The fruit from the seeds needs to be shared with others. So pray for GOD to seen you to others who will appreciate the Father's love in you and praise GOD in heaven. So yes there is a daily work humans do, in caring for this relationship and making sure the partnerd power is nurtured and looked after in this wicked world. Our biggest problem is the trap tendency to fall back into our first broken relationship, where we use our flesh powers of self, rather than Jesus powers of divinity.. We cannot kill our old flesh relationship, otherwise we would also literally die, so every day we must die daily to our old relationship, and renew our old relationship with the power of Jesus in a renewed relationship. This becomes a war of faith, to change from one relationship to another.

1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

  • 2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The word "new" here in Hebrew is "chadesh" meaning "renewed" as a "full moon" is "renewed each month" not made "brand new creature", so the fight of a good fight of faith, is about renewing our old relationship with GOD with a renewal of Jesus in His relationship, that is without missing (sinning).
