Q1: SOP and Scripture understanding of New Light HYPOTHESIS: How does SOP see the "Discovering of more light from Scripture" ? INTRODUCTION: Most people today struggle to even read Scripture with ease.
We have lost our general reading ability, and this will get worse as we use electronic devices more and more.
Our societies will become watchers of words using video, rather than readers of words using our mind.
Will this impact the wonder of wonders Jesus promises for the last days of time? Yes...the wonder of wonders for the end of time
is an increase in the joy of the meek, from reading Scripture !
Isa 29:14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?
18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
And many will come to understand again..
Isa 29:24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.(KJV)
So how can we read Scripture in English, if Scripture light is made fuzzy by poor translations?
Do we supppose our translations are poor?
The reader says, I read in English, and that is good enough.
Fair enough.
But your trusting your "strong authority" the translator to give you your light, and the Holy Spirit who is your teacher has a battle helping you to understand Scripture,
because the words are fuzzy. Scripture written originally in Hebrew does not have error, but the translations prevent us from experiencing the light GOD intended for us to receive properly.
If Satan hates GOD, and the Scripture are the WORDS of GOD, how would Satan spoil the Scripture? Well Satan cannot change the WORDS because they are penned by holy men under inspiration of the Holy Spirit to write the "messages of GOD".
So the only way where Satan can attack the Scripture is to stop it from being read, which was successful until the priinting press was invented. Now the next most successful way to spoil Scripture is to make lots of Scripture translations
all with fuzzy meanings and lots of scholars presenting different scholarship. That will bring on confusion. Thus we have introduced a clashing of words with words.
`Re 12:7 And there was war in heaven:
Re 12:7 Now there is war on earth: Jesus and his angels fight over the WORDS in Scripture, against Satan and His angels over their WORDS in Education.
We do not understand WORDS have power.
Ps 33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
So how do you know the WORDS you get from Scripture are correct ?
God will have a people upon the
earth to maintain the Bible, and the
Bible only, as the standard of all doctrines
and the basis of all reforms. . . .
Satan is constantly endeavouring to
attract attention to man in the place of
God. He (Satan) leads the people to look to
bishops, to pastors, to professors of
theology, as their guides, instead of
searching the Scriptures to learn their
duty for themselves. Then, by controlling
the minds of these leaders, he can
influence the multitudes according to
his will.The Great Controversy, p.
595.
We, of child like faith, have to read Scripture in child like faith, ourselves. Independent learning. Sola Scriptoria. Pray with the Holy Spirit.
Isa 29:11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
Are we unlearned, relying on our Pastors and Scholars for guidance?
Do we continue in the traditions of our Church? The same old, same old? Is there nothing new under the sun?
Do we continue drinking milk all the days of our life...like a plant refusing to grow more and more...maybe we are pot bound...and long to be free in the earth, rather than a pot of limited soil.
Didn't Jesus say His truth shall set you free indeed?
If everybody is so hooked on electronic devices, is it really so hard to read Scripture in the strange language it was written in ? Hebrew...
It's so easy to click on a computer and get the interlinear WORD in the original language.
It's so easy to click on the Hebrew and get within seconds every verse the WORD was used in Scripture.
And it's so easy to read all the verses of context of that WORD to find out what that word really means, not trust on humans to tell us something else, but what Scripture says.
Sure such reading takes time...so pray for GOD to make time...He created time for us...every Sabbath is a ceasing of business time, and a special time is set aside for GOD...
so there is no excuse for not making time... once a week there is time... and every day GOD makes time for us...how much sleep at night do we really need ? Cannot GOD supply your power
and give you time before the day begins to read His WORDS? And cannot GOD violate His own laws of health, giving you more time to experience salvation in Him, even though according to His natural laws of health, you should be asleep already in death?
GOD is time and controls time, so do not make excuse for not seeking a relationship with Him.
But "these things are too deep for me"...
Fair enough
John 4:11 " Sir, the well is deep:."
Perhaps your a beginner.
So GOD has supplied this need also.
Ellen White, though she did not know this, is a Hebrew to English translator.
All you have to do is read SOP carefully as you would Scripture and read back the SOP
into Scripture, as you would a translation of the Hebrew into English.
And if GOD battles with Satan's fuzziness of wording, you can expect SOP to write carefully and gently
even though Scripture translations are fuzzy. In other words SOP deals with fuzzy translations all the time,
so reading ALL her material on a theme is paramount, so you are not confused. Treat the quotations of Scripture
as fuzzy words, and read her comments seeking to find the true Hebrew meanings behind the Scripture presented.
This should give you a good reading of the true Scriptures in Hebrew, without having to study Scripture in Hebrew.
So the reader has no excuse for absolutely trusting our Scripture and its purest of WORDS.
These SOP webpages might be useful to you to show you how this can be achieved in practice. Shalom
METHOD: The best and clearest SOP evidence is shown, just to give the reader an unbiased feel for the theme.
CONCLUSION: If GOD is light, and Scripture are the rays of light, how can we soak up the sunshine if the clouds distort the rays? If you want more sunshine, get higher and closer to GOD,
fly above the clouds, and soak up the straight pure rays of light coming directly from the Son.
DISCUSSION: The presentation of SOP and comments are below, will span across several webpages, as this theme is important to study properly:
"Let Scripture light shine forth.." ..
In His Word, God has promised to
give visions in the last days (Acts 2:17,
18), not for a new rule of faith, but for
the enlightenment of His people and
for correcting those who err from Bible
truth (cf. Early Writings, p. 78).
Light does two things:
We must not for a moment think there is no more light, no more truth, to be given us. We are in danger of becoming careless by our indifference, losing the sanctifying power of truth, and composing
ourselves with the thought, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing.? GW 31, 1915.
Light can become our food. If you do not daily receive light, you cannot photosynthese food.
Everytime you read His WORDS pray for renewed light, thus you are eating renewed food. This is not changing older doctrines
but experiencing older doctrines in renewed light.
While we must hold fast to the truths which we have already received, we must not look with suspicion upon any new light that God may send.? GW 311
Test the new light against the old light, to see if the light is true.
"Although we have in trust the grandest and most important truth ever presented to the world, we are only babes, as far as understanding truth in all its bearings is concerned....
"The question has been asked me, Do you think the Lord has any more light for us as a people? I answered that He has light thats new to us and yet it is precious old light that is to shine forth from the word of truth. We have only the glimmerings of the rays of light that is yet to come to us.? {Counsels to Writers and Editors, page 29}
If we are only babes reading the WORDS, then why not want to read more light shinning forth from Scripture?
All we have to do is remove the clouds and let the rays of light come forth.
So far we have introduced this theme of receiving new light:-
Personally the Author does not see reading Scripture in a proper and faithful way, as receiving new light...All we are doing is removing the clouds and allowing the true WORDS of GOD to shine forth..
Some of these clouds are "changing the letters of the original Hebrew" with a Babylonian Aramaic square script, "changing the meaning of Hebrew" into multiple meanings of context, and "changing the words of Hebrew" with different translations.
Removing clouds is something SOP does all the time. These studies show you how this is done, and something few people do with SOP...
taking the lesser light and placing it correctly into the greater light...in other words taking her SOP in English and placing it back into Scripture in Hebrew.
Do this carefully and the true understanding of GOD's WORDS is assured. We will show you how this is done...
