Q19: Can Sola Scriptoria include outside messengers such as Ellen White and others? Hypothesis: Can Sola Scriptoria include other messages from the Holy Spirit outside the Bible?
Introduction: This is a critical question, for where do we get our inspiration ? Only from Scripture ? Or from our Parents ? Our class teachers ? and from other learned men? or inspired people outside the recorded Scriptures?
Since religion is caught from the Strong Authorities who live in families, modelling the Strong Authories in heaven, there must be Scripture saying one can have outside influences for leadership apart from Scripture. So where is this found in Scripture? And how do we test their Authority?
Method: See the Bible verses presented
Conclusion: The messages of the witness Ellen White have been tested, and in the balance of probabilities across many words tested, they are recorded messages from the Holy Spirit in Ancient Hebrew meaning, something Ellen White as a human did not know herself.
Sola Scriptoria is a book of torah-teachings plus eye witness accounts of prophets writing down messages as from the LORD. Such witnesses, beginning with Moses also includes other witnesses as prophets such as Paul, John and more modern ones as Ellen White. And in the last days we can expect other witnesses to come bearing the witness of Jesus.
Discussion:
Strong's 8584. The Ancient Hebrew reads "The marked eye sees securely through the door. Behold the Person!" The word "ta`uwdah" describes a "witness".
The word is closely related to "appointed times";
"The flowing secure eye through the door". Thus the word "ta`uwdah" describes a "witness" coming at an appointed time.
Ru 4:7 Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbour: and this was a testimony "ta`uwdah" (witness) in Israel.
Isa 8:16 Bind up the testimony "ta`uwdah" (witness) , seal the law "torah-teachings" among my disciples.
Isa 8:20 To the law "torah-teachings" and to the testimony "ta`uwdah" (witness): if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Who are these witnesses ?
Isa 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
They are not spirits, Satanic angels acting as mediums or wizards. We do not consult the spirits of the dead? GOD is living, not dead.
Isa 9:1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
The witness is predicted to come from the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, from Galilee..
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
The witness would be born bearing the NAME of Elohim.
Isa 10:19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
Only a few witnesses will remain under the Great Witness of Jesus Christ.
Isa 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
Jesus comes as the Branch, See studies.
Ac 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
In the last days, we can expect prophets to come prophesing, and people having visions and dreams about our Lord Jesus.
1Co 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
In the last days we can expect all kinds of power to come through God's people.
Re 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony "witness" of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony "witness" of Jesus is the "Holy Spirit" of prophecy.
The early disciples were eye witnesses of Jesus, and many of them were also prophets. One of the prophets was Paul, who wrote down many messages of Jesus for our learning.
1Th 5:20 Despise not prophesyings.
Paul tells us to welcome prophets into the Church bearing new messages from Jesus. But we are to prove all things and test the messages.
1Ti 1:18  This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
Finding truth is a simile of being a soldier in the war. Fight the good fight of faith, and avoid all conflicts that wrestle against your soul.
Re 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth , and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Our beloved John was also a prophet and wrote down the last day messages of Jesus soon coming and the acts He would do upon the earth in Revelation.
Mt 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mt 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
{History tells us that in AD 66 the Christians fled during the Feast of Tabernacles during Jacob's Trouble into the mountains, as the ROMAN ARMIES of Anti-christ became the abomination of desolation bearing false emblems in the holy place broke into the very Church presence of GOD, the Christians expecting the Lord to return very soon, but He didn't.}
Mt 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
The people alive in the hearing of Jesus all passed away and died. Yet Jesus did not return. He did not return at the fall of the Jersaluem. Why ? Is the prophecy of Jesus Himself wrong ? No, the prophecy was conditional, and this does not make the prophet a false prophet, only that man has lost their first love and failed to make the prophecy come true.
Jer 18:7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
So some prophecies are conditional. Jonah fortold the fall of Ninevah, but because people repented God spared the city for many years longer.
This does not make GOD a liar, but sometimes with prophecies GOD wants mankind to experience hope and joy and to feel the depression and shortfalls of love as well, for the future is a story of mankind, God already knows the future, but man has yet to experience it. To the early Christians in AD 66 they were living in the hope of Jesus return, so GOD did not dash their hopes with distant future times. Notice this advice in Scripture:
Re 10:10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
This experience speaks of Jesus Second Coming in 1844, but this also did not happen. And again the Bible tells us to prophesy AGAIN.
The Second Coming will seem to linger but will not delay is indeed a prophecy:
Hab 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith .
This was written 600 BC speaking to the Second Coming long before the First Coming even even. Will there ever be a Second Coming? Oh Yes because Scripture speaks of the Third COming of Jesus to earth:
Zec 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives , which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
This prophecy is Jesus coming down from heaven and touching the mountain making the NEW city of Zion sit exactly where the old city of Jersaluem sits today.
Notice Jesus walks on the earth during the FIRST coming, but never during the Second Coming, and touches the earth with His feet during the Third Coming.
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Any majestic Being coming as "christ" during the second coming walking on the earth will immediately tell you its Satan as Anti-Christ, deceiving millions of people.
So we to test the messages of the Holy Spirit which come from Witnesses of Jesus.
1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
John the prophet writes that Anti-christ was already in the world in his time.
So the first test of any witness bearing a messages from Jesus, is the words must coming with the same meanings as the Bible words, in the language meaning of Ancient Hebrew, the Hebrew written from 3000BC.
Isa 8:20 To the law "torah -teachings" and to the testimony "witnesses" : if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
The messages must match the messages from the torah-teachings already written before in Scripture.
There are many other Bible tests of inspired messages, and you can see them from other websites if you wish. SCIENCE is only a method of testing the NOW inthe present. Anything in the past cannot be tested by Science in strict terms of Science Testing, and one has to test the NOW using assumptions that reach into the past, This is dangerous Science testing and why both Creation and Evolution are theories of faith known as religious beliefs, not strictly Science.
Thus this hypothesis testing of the messages of Ellen White on the basis they were written in Ancient Hebrew bears true, proving the messages were in fact recorded by the Holy Spirit. Any Scientist can verify the testing of her messages and words to validate this theory of faith, because the NOW testing will always confirm the evidence, even though the messages were written in the past. This is the most valid non-biased testing of her word as inspired messages one can think of, rather than dealing with historical accounts of people, and events which may not bear truthful accounts of witnessing. (Such accounts of witnessing is subjective to begin with, and thus not testable by Science.) Testing WORDS in the NOW is immediately more reliable, and thus a more reliable way to validate inspiration. Beware though of Scientists who test selected words to prove biased agenda. One can even prove the Bible words have human errors if a Scientist wants to, but on the balance of probabilities over many words tested, we can concluded the words were recorded by Ellen White did come via the Holy Spirit , penned in Ancient Hebrew understanding. Many of the words studied were chosen to be far beyond current mainstream faith and understanding, even into the world of mere speculaton, just to prove her inspired messages are consistent and true. And yet Ellen White never knew Hebrew herself, nor did she understand the Ancient Hebrew meanings written and preserved inside the modern Hebrew letters of the Bible.
To conclude, here is a touching website witness of Ellen White messages coming upon a scholarly Jew who was converted by her English messages:-
QUOTE: " One day Rabbi Joe Kagan got hold of a book called Patriarchs and Prophets by Ellen G. White. He read it with astonishment and wanted to know who this Ellen White was. That is when I met him. He was asking who is this Ellen G. White and what university did she attend. We told him she only had a 3rd grade education. "Then where did she learn Hebrew?" he asked. We told him that she never knew Hebrew, but was the most prolific female writer in history and that this was only one of her books.
He was amazed at her knowledge, saying that the information in this book (Patriarchs and Prophets) is Mishnaic. The Mishnah is part of the Hebrew scholarship. He said the Mishnah had only been translated into English 30 years ago and that only high-level rabbis knew this information. This is the history of my people and it is very, very accurate. He also said that you have to know Hebrew to be able to write like this because her sentence structure is not English, it's Hebrew. The rhythm the meter, the arrangement of words and expressions are not English. He said it's as if she wrote in Hebrew and it was translated into English. "End QUOTE. Source Link
One cannot find other witnesses in electronic form available for free as sources of Holy Spirit messages from GOD to test as inspired, apart from Ellen White messages. The works of Martin Luther for example come to mind, but his complete works are not available in electronic form for free, and thus cannot be tested.
See a small study of some of Martin Luther's works compared to the works of Ellen White, against a selection of Ancient Hebrew words.
On the next webpage we will consider some websites that condemn the messages of Ellen White, and show them to the reader in a different light.
