Q7: What happens if I am fearful of change ?
We all are fearful of change, and resist changes to our daily routine. There is the story of a man afraid of using Jesus power, and went and hid His Master's power. This is what Jesus' had to say to those afraid to be willing: Mt 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord,
I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown,
and gathering where thou hast not strawed: Mt 25:25 And I was afraid,
and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked "poneros" and
slothful "okneros" servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not,
and gather where I have not ...
The man's will was not willing to try Jesus' power. Jesus calls this person
a "fornicator" and a "slothful" person. Be sure to study both words here.
We are already fornicators in the Bible sense because we sow our seeds
among two Master's: Satan and God. We are not loyal to one Master, and
we pick and choose between both to live our lives. Jesus prefers those who
are completely loyal to Satan or GOD rather than lukewarm hypocrites who
sow seeds in both camps. However many are ignorant of salvation and
Jesus respects this. The other problem of slothfulness is really a form of
laziness, or stubbornness. Jesus expects obedience, not one who says
he loves Him but refuses to go.
Now of course, if you give Jesus a try, Satan will be upset with you and you
will find your life possibly worse than before in terms of power and
struggles. But you also find Jesus hedges and protects those He calls.
And He only allows Satan to give us a hard time, if we can bear it.
Don't make excuses about not getting started with Him. Otherwise
these words of Jesus here may hurt and condemn you. Shalom
