Psalm 39, cease,

Q49: Prayers of David..

Understand the childlike foundations first:-

  • (1) How to support Jesus
  • (2) Former rains in Jesus
  • (3) Latter rains in Jesus

    (4) Deeper prayer training.

  • Consider prayer 39:-

Ps 39:4 LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.(KJV)

How difficult at times the process of translation is. This verse has some difficult contexts:

The Hebrew word "yada" means to "know as to be intimate with", to know deeply like one in relationship. It is not a word meaning knowledge. The Hebrew word for knowledge, is "science" or "madda". Or even "daath" which means "knowledge". It would be a good study to look at all these words as to why they are different in different contexts.

The Hebrew word "chadel" according to Jeff Benner means to "Cease". The Author finds this strange, as "Shabath" also means to "cease". So here is a babe like attempt at a better reading:

Prayer 39:4 LORD YHWH, make me intimate to my mine end, and the measure of my days, {help} my intimacy {not} cease.(Ancient Hebrew)

Let's investigate the Hebrew word "chadel":

Shabath, verb form, meaning cease. Strong's 7673. The pictographs read: "Pressing the home towards an important mark".

Chadel, verb form, meaning cease. Strong's 2308. The pictographs read: "Outside the door of authority".

What's the difference between these two different unrelated Hebrew words, both verb and noun forms means to "Cease" ? Notice some Scripture:

Nu 9:13 But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin. (KJV)

Nu 9:13 But the man that is clean, and is not 'on the road', and ceases to do the 'hop-over-feast', even the same 'living-energy' shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his 'appointed time', that man shall bear (nasa) his sin. (Ancient Hebrew)

Notice how good and mechanical the King James Version translation of the Hebrew is. There are many Hebrew idioms here,

  • 'on the road' means your on a journey.
  • 'hop-over-feast' means passover.
  • 'living energy' means soul.
  • bear his sin. The usual meaning for "nasa" is to lift away, but its opposite meaning is intended by the context. English words do not do this in sentences, but Hebrew words sometimes does.

Pr 10:19 In the multitude of words there wanteth (chadel) "cease" not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.(KJV)

When we speak too many words, sin ceases not. A wise person stops talking too much.

This is good advice, because when we speak in the presence of mockers, we use our Baal Master Powers of Self, and thus sin, rather than asking Jesus for His powers to speak His words. So stop talking, ask Jesus what to speak, choose a Seed Promise to sow, and edify others, rather than waste time in mocking mockery.

Pr 23:4 Labour not to be rich: cease (chadel) "cease" from thine own wisdom (biynah) "understanding".

KJV is correct here, but the Hebrew word "biynah" comes from "build" and "building" and does not refer to wisdom, which is a Divine Person empowering wise decisions. The word "biynah" is the idea to build your own decision from your own understanding. So the Scriptures is saying do not build on your own understanding. How many church buildings are built as man feels like it, not following the pattern of how church sanctuaries were supposed to be built on earth, as found in the Scriptures?

Jer 44:18 But since we left off (chadel) "ceased" to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine. (KJV)

Jews who tell you they followed all the days of Jewish history a single numerical one of YHWH in heaven, are telling you a falsehood. The Jews even in Jerusalem, followed an idol way of worshipping the Divine Family in Heaven, along earthly ways as close to the Divine Pattern as possible, according to Adam Clarke's commentary, and other writers. The Jews worshipped the Queen of heaven, as well as the King of heaven. What is interesting is there is no real clear Scripture text saying the Father is a King of heaven and the Holy Spirit is a Queen of heaven. The Scriptures only say the Father made Jesus their Son a King of Heaven.

For more see Heavenly Father is a King?

    Notice the difference between

Ge 5:29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work (maaseh) and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.

    and

Ex 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work (malakah), thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Malakah, meaning "Godly-work". Strong's 4399. The pictographs read: "The flowing Authority is strong on your palms. Behold the Person!".

Maaseh, meaning "Manly-work". Strong's 4639. The pictographs read: "The flowing eye sees prickles. Behold the Person!".

The Author gets the impression that we have six days to do godly work helping and loving our neighbour, as a witness for GOD, and come on Ceasing-Day to rest from a week of redemptive work, just as GOD made holy work to redeem Adam and Eve from dysfunctional disorder, making Creation into an ordered and beautiful place. Question is how many of us do godly redemptive work during the week loving our neighbour as a witness for God?

The only work I see the rat-race of the world forcing on us is the flowing eye sees prickles, and man toils over his dysfunctional world. In other words, we waste time fighting with sinful consequences. For example, as a gardener, I spray weeds, prune overgrown branches and trim untidy growth on hedges. People look down on their I-pads fixed to TV movies, addicted to the screen and rarely talk relationship these days. The rostered time off among our workers in a time of silence. Mankind is just wasting time doing things in a dysfunctional world.

What we should be doing is functional work, godly redemptive work, the kind of work that is about people, and relationships and affecting their love response towards GOD.

This kind of doing is commanded by Jesus on Ceasing-Day. Notice the fourth commandment changed and added by Jesus:

De 5:15 ... therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. (KJV)

The reader can't read anything special? That's because some Hebrew words are translated inconsistently:-

De 5:15 ... therefore the YHWH-Jesus of the Divine Family, commanded thee to do on ceasing-day. (Ancient Hebrew)

Notice the Hebrew verb "asah" means to do.

Ge 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested (shabath) "ceased" on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

Notice GOD ceases on the seventh day, the first time ceasing-day is referenced, so it is referenced as ceasing on the seventh-day, in order to identify this time, and this time only begins here.

Ge 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified (qadash) "made it special" it: because that in it he had rested(shabath) "ceased" from all his work (m@la'kah) "godly work" which God created and made.

So what makes ceasing on ceasing-day special? When we remember all the godly work we have done during the week for mankind. What happens if we don't do any godly work for God with His powers flowing through us for others during the week, and we cease on ceasing-day, doing nothing for GOD and worshiping GOD with no offering of specialness to bring to GOD, are we saved in the Special Sabbath? No

Most of us do not see what ceasing-day is for. What does GOD do on ceasing-day for example?

Ex 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed (naphash) "energized" (KJV).

When GOD created order from disorder, doing godly work of redemption, for Adam and Eve, who had yet to be formed, GOD ceased on ceasing-day to re-energize ( a verb form of soul). The noun form and verb form have to have simile meanings, but different actions. Hence, the noun form or "soul" means "living-energy", and the verb form means "energize".

So GOD ends his godly work of redemption and energizes, "recharging his batteries"so to speak. Why and how ?

Elohiym is a "generator of love" and hence highly relational.

Joh 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

When Jesus finished doing his six days of godly work of redeeming order from disorder and filling order in a very beautiful way with living-energy, he also forms relationship made a little lower than elohiym,

Ps 8:5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels (elohiym), ..(KJV)

..so Jesus comes to this brand new relationship and talks to Adam and Eve, getting re-energized by this process. Does the reader get the idea?

Sadly churches see ceasing-day as a time for socializing and small chit-chat. After all if you have no godly work of helping people come out from disorder into order during the week, than there is nothing else to talk about on the Ceasing-Day, is there?

David is praying his intimacy with GOD will not cease..

In prayer 39:7 David prays Lord Jesus my hope in in thee.

I am dumb and open not my mouth,

I am blind and do not see,

I am deaf and do not hear,

What is David praying here ?

David want to say what Jesus tells his to say, David wants to see what Jesus would see, and Do what Jesus would do, and Go where Jesus would go, and thus hear Jesus talk to you via your conscience.

This is what praying is for. To re-energize your living-energy. To refresh the divine relationship, so you can impart love with the earthly relationships, doing God's godly-work of bring order into people living in a disordered world. This process is called redemption, or salvation, a process that comes from Jesus, but through your hands, not His Hands. Jesus is in heaven, you are no theh earth. We must support Jesus, and thus go supporting others with His love flowing through us.

Our Father in heaven, thank you for Jesus, the Grain we kiss, thank you for making me a seed watered by the Holy Spirit, may we bring forth your fruits of character in their season, we support Jesus words. Amen

    Next we consider prayer 40.
