| Q7: Ch:10. The Voice in the Wilderness Show the Desire of Ages is inspired..
(1) Our will has : power.. The tempter can never compel us to do evil. He cannot control minds unless they are yielded to hiscontrol. The will must consent, faith must let go its hold upon Christ, before Satan can exercise hispower upon us. But every sinful desire we cherish affords him a foothold. Every point in which we failof meeting the divine standard is an open door by which he can enter to tempt and destroy us. Andevery failure or defeat on our part gives occasion for him to reproach Christ. (DA page 124) I do not know Scripture verses to prove this SOP statement. There is a Hebrew word for "self will" Strong's 7522, the Greek for "self will" is Strong's 2307; but no verse that speaks of Satan in regards to our will power.One has not studied all there is, and I strongly suggest readers having fun proving this SOP statement does exist in our Bibles. These verses may help readers get started:- Put all these verses together, perhaps there is enough to help readers understand, but O how easily does SOP explain matters to us. (2) faith or presumption.. But faith is in no sense allied to presumption. Only he who has true faith is secure against presumption.For presumption is Satan's counterfeit of faith. Faith claims God's promises, and brings forth fruit inobedience. Presumption also claims the promises, but uses them as Satan did, to excuse transgression.Faith would have led our first parents to trust the love of God, and to obey His commands. Presumptionled them to transgress His law, believing that His great love would save them from the consequence oftheir sin. It is not faith that claims the favor of Heaven without complying with the conditions on whichmercy is to be granted. Genuine faith has its foundation in the promises and provisions of theScriptures. The Spirit of Prophecy says faith is a power from GOD but is the direct opposite, presumption, is a power from Satan. The Author does not know a Scripture verse speakng about faith and it's opposite: presumption. There is only ONE verse in the OT speaking of faithfulness: Hab 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith (faithulness). And only these in the OT speak of faith: De 32:20, Pr 13:17, Pr 14:5, Pr 20:6, and Isa 26:2. Sadly the children of Israel lacked faith. Notice Hebrew does not have adjectives, to make an adjective two nouns are placed side by side. For example "faith" "man" is translated in English as "faithful man". So enjoy seeking the NT for examples of faith and its opposite: presumption . There is however, a story about presumption, the Hebrew word is "ruwm" which means "high" or "lift" which suggests "faith" means "low" or "humble". Nu 15:30 � But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously "ruwm", So one who lacks faith, actually despises the ten commandments where the gift of faith is promised...and one is actually empowering himself as he pleases. It's a chilling story about the results of a lack of faith... (3) God has always been ruler.. When Satan declared to Christ, The kingdom and glory of the world are delivered unto me, and towhomsoever I will I give it, he stated what was true only in part, and he declared it to serve his ownpurpose of deception. Satan's dominion was that wrested from Adam, but Adam was the vicegerent ofthe Creator. His was not an independent rule. The earth is God's, and He has committed all things toHis Son. Adam was to reign subject to Christ. When Adam betrayed his sovereignty into Satan's hands,Christ still remained the rightful King. Thus the Lord had said to King Nebuchadnezzar, "The MostHigh ruleth in the Page 130 kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will." Dan. 4:17. Satan can exercise his usurpedauthority only as God permits. There is a profound verse that aligns with these SOP statements. Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.(KJV) GOD is in control of all things, including function and dysfunction, or "good and evil", that even the breath of life which Satan needs comes from GOD.The very materialism of atoms, time and space also come from GOD. Without GOD nothing would exist. So imagine the strange request Satan made on the Father, to have a world where less of God's power existed, so Satan could pretend to be a ruler over his kingdom for a time... Job 1:9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Notice GOD protects His own, those that love GOD have a hedge protecting them from Satan...but not always, as we see in Job...often Satan is given control within certain limits... A question some always ask is why does GOD allow bad things to happen to good people? Well Job was a good person and God allowed bad things to happen to him...read the story and find out... Jesus was also a good person, but GOD allowed Satan to do bad things to Him...He was abused, cursed, beaten and lashed twice, and finally crucified.Jesus was also subjected to a cruel fate no living Being will ever face, the Second death, a place where GOD is separated from you...you cease to exist... See SOP define death as dissolution. Those who claim Jesus was a human sinless person only since Mary's womb, not an eternal Creator like Elohiym, need to unravel Jesus' death in Sheol...If death is defined in Holy Writings as separation from GOD (Ps 22:1) why does Jesus not cease to exist when GOD left Him for three days and nights...His body did not decay...(Acts 2:31, Psalms 16:10) ?Those who say Jesus was just a sinless human, would have to say, the Father kept the body from decaying...but this proves the Father never left the sinless human, so Jesus never really died of separation...But when the Father returned unto His Son, the relationship re vived (Psalms 49:15). Some say if Jesus was the Son of GOD, how can a GOD die? But death is never defined as the cessation of biochemistry, but the separation of GOD, God leaves you... And did not GOD, the Father and the Holy Spirit both leave their Son alone for three days and nights ? Yes. Why didn't the body of Jesus decay? Well for one thing...Jesus own divinity might have kept the body from decaying...(afterall Jesus is Elohiym, Jesus has ongoing living within Himself)... the agony of Jesus was not the cessation of biochemistry...but the cessation of relationship that love demands continually. Those who say Elohiym is a single numerical "god" like a heavenly Father, destroy the function of love, because love is relational, and one "god" on it's own cannot function with love... self love does not exist... Ge 1:2 And the Spirit of God moved.. Something cannot be moving without relativity to time, space and other objects, otherwise you cannot rationalise movement. This single verb alone, tells you Elohiym is a harmonious collection of Eternal Beings that move relative to each other as one. This is further described by the Holy Spirit of Elohiym, the Hebrew that says "GOD moved"... For example a car moves on a road, the earth moves in space, the electron moves around a proton, and The Holy Spirit moves relative to the Father...nothing cannot move relative to nothing... thus Elohiym is a Family of heavenly power. Job 1:16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. So when Satan is given permission to do certain things, He does them, even using GOD's power with selfsh cruel intentions...Satan caused the power of GOD to fall from heaven and destroy, the Father Himself did NOT do this... One must ask the author of bad things...and that Being is Satan...a Being most modern people think does not even exist...talk about being deceived...do we even read our Bibles, and make such emotional statements based on little evidence? How can one say such things if we have never read the Bible to seek answers from the Holy Writings? Such a story like Job, tells us that the heavenly Father is on trial...that GOD is being challenged...that love can exist without rules...Satan claims that love can exist without rules known as Naturalism... Notice the cruel abusive laws of Satan's rules of Naturalism .. Contrast this with GOD's laws of love...a concept of Relationships .. Such love laws make Elohiym relational...after love is generated by holy Eternal Beings in relationship...nothing in materialism moves on it's own..everything moves in relationships...even the atom has three fundamental particles that move in relationship to each other... Satan wanted a world where relationships do not exist...Satan is self deceived...why even His world of pretend power, He destroys using the power of selfishness, powers that come from a dysfunctional relationship with GOD... And one day when GOD is no longer on trial, and love is vindictated, GOD wil l end all suffering and all abuse will end forever... Since GOD is on trial, mankind cannot sin unless mankind chooses to sin, for all power is give to mankind if we ask and seek...even faith is a gift...we only have to choose GOD or choose Satan...which realy means choose GOD or not choose GOD. Notice Job's faith: Job 42:5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. When Job heard GOD, he claims to have seen GOD...wow !!! When you read the Holy Writings, humbly and prayerfully, GOD via the Holy Spirit, will talk to you, via your conscience...and thus you will see GOD...(Romans 1:20, Romans 2:!5, Acts 8:29) Believe this faith, act on His promises and seek is salvation in Jesus.
