Q(10) How are Christians deceived in their human efforts of salvation ? Ps 14:3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. .Ho 13:1 When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died. 2 And now they sin more and more,Re 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. Human works of salvation based on human power alone is called Baal religionand opposes GOD's method of salvation directly. For more on Baal Ro 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. Legalism religion is another market name for Baal. You cannot obey GOD out of obligation or based on human power alone. The human must co-operate with the divine. Ho 13:4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me. Salvation is based entirely on relationships. To a baby believer sin is defined as transgression of the letters of the law. But to a mature believer, attitudes to the principles of love take over, as the relationship to GOD becomes the principle thing. Why is the first of the Father's ten commandments listed here and added with a relationship principle, rather than retain only the letters of the law ? Because salvation is based only on relationship, when a believer grows up with GOD. Relationship is based on attitudes to principles of law, rather than the mere letters of the law. This does not abolish the ten commandments, which serve for the wicked, they serve to show sin for the baby believer, who has not allowed GOD to subdue their carnal flesh propensities yet; and they deepen to attitudes oflove for the mature spirit filled believer, where the sinner feels like a chief of sinners before GOD. Mic 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? These attributes are willingness, humility, meekness and selflessness. Mere letters of the law cannot define these relationship principles. See more on works . Highly recomme nded. God bless our child like work with Jesus. Shalom |
