( 301 ) Joh 8:46 Which of you convinceth me of sin "chatta'ah"? And if I say the truth , why do ye not believe me ?
.. me of sin-offering ..
Why does Jesus say which of you convince me of sin-offering (chataah) ?
Why not say which convince me of sin (chata) or (chet) ?
Is there a error in translation in the Greek ? Have we lost the Hebrew intent ?
I don't know...
( 302 ) Joh 9:34 They answered and said unto him , Thou wast altogether born in sins "chatta'ah", and dost thou teach us ? And they cast him out .
.. born in sin-offering .
How a sinner be born with a sin-offering ? Or be born with sinning factors ?
Does the verse really say this ? Or are the Jews speaking human reasoning ?
What does Jesus say about sinners born with sinning ?
Joh 9:2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
Jesus said no, sinners are not born sinning.
Joh 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
Babies born have to with a will choose to do sinning before becoming sinners. The term "chata" is a relationship concept, ie: "missing the mark of relationship".
( 303 ) Joh 9:41 Jesus said unto them , If ye were blind , ye should have no sin "chatta'ah": but now ye say , We see ; therefore your sin "chatta'ah" remaineth .
.. .. ye should have no sin-offering ..see therefore your sin-offering ..
( 304 ) Joh 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them , they had not had sin "chatta'ah": but now they have no cloke for their sin "chatta'ah".
.. .. they had not had sin-offering ..for their sin-offering ..
( 305 ) Joh 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did , they had not had sin "chatta'ah": but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father .
.. they had not had sin-offering ..
( 306 ) Joh 16:8 And when he is come , he will reprove the world of sin "chatta'ah", and of righteousness , and of judgment :
.. the world of sin-offering ..
( 307 ) Joh 16:9 Of sin "chatta'ah", because they believe not on me ;
.. sin-offering ..
( 308 ) Joh 19:11 Jesus answered , Thou couldest have no power at all against me , except it were given thee from above : therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin "chatta'ah".
.. thee hath the greater sin-offering ..
This context reads better as "error" rather than "sin-offering".
Sometimes the Hebrew word is difficult to understand in some contexts.
( 309 ) Joh 20:23 Whose soever sins "chatta'ah" ye remit , they are remitted unto them ; and whose soever sins ye retain , they are retained .
.. sin-offering ..
( 310 ) Ac 2:38 Then Peter said unto them , Repent , and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins "chatta'ah", and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost .
.. the remission of sin-offering ..
