This context reads better as "error" rather than "sin-offering".
Sometimes the Hebrew word is difficult to understand in some contexts.
( 314 ) Ac 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness , that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins "chatta'ah".

( 315 ) Ac 13:38 Be it known unto you therefore , men and brethren , that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins "chatta'ah":

The torah teachings spelled out the processes for making a sin-offering
packaging one's sins unto the sin-bearer. This was the purpose
of the torah. Some call torah teachings to do with sin-offering,
the "ceremonial law".
