The Old Testament salvation system was not only based on animal sacrifice.
The attitude of gratitude really mattered to GOD.
Mic 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
We are required to love mercy and walk humbly before GOD....
( 269 ) Mic 6:13 Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins "chatta'ah".

( 270 ) Mic 7:19 He will turn again , he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities ; and thou wilt cast all their sins "chatta'ah" into the depths of the sea .

The sin-offering is cast into the depths of the sea. This suggests the salvation
process removes the guilt and records of sinning packaged into the sin-offering,
and that the sin-bearer purges away all complete memory of sinning. This is
