( 191 ) Ps 51:3 For I acknowledge my transgressions : and my sin "chatta'ah" is ever before me.
.. my transgressions and my sin-offering ..
My sin-offering is ever before me....if Christians placed the sin-bearer and
sin-offering in a correct standing, the attitude of gratitude would change
the complacent way we deal with our sinning. We would embrace the
power of Jesus more. We would see our sin-offering ever before us
reminding us of being the chief of sinners. While we feel we are sinning
more and more, especially ignorantly; others would see us as sinning
less and less.
( 192 ) Ps 59:3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul : the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression , nor for my sin "chatta'ah", O LORD .
.. for my transgression nor for my sin-offering ..
( 193 ) Ps 59:12 For the sin "chatta'ah" of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride : and for cursing and lying which they speak .
.. sin-offering ..
( 194 ) Ps 79:9 Help us, O God of our salvation , for the glory of thy name : and deliver us, and purge away our sins "chatta'ah", for thy name's sake.
.. us, and purge away our sin-offering ..
( 195 ) Ps 85:2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people , thou hast covered all their sin "chatta'ah". Selah .
.. thou hast covered all their sin-offering ..
( 196 ) Ps 109:14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD ; and let not the sin "chatta'ah" of his mother be blotted out .
.. the LORD and let not the sin-offering ..
( 197 ) Pr 5:22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins "chatta'ah".
.. with the cords of his sin-offering ..
Why is the wicked held in the cords of his own sin-offering ?
It is only at the depths of sinning and error can the sinner at the end of his or her
rope feel the need for a Saviour and embrace the sin-offering that lifts away the
burden of sins. Until that repentant mind turns homeward, the sinner remains
trapped in the cords of his own sin-offering. The salvation process through
human effort fails. The sinner is sick of his own sin-offering and longs for a
sin-offering that truly saves. The sinner is tired of human effort that flows
to nothing (Baal religion) and is now ready to embrace the salvation that is
empowered by Jesus, a better sin-offering.
( 198 ) Pr 10:16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life : the fruit of the wicked to sin "chatta'ah".
.. fruit of the wicked to sin-offering ..
Here is an interesting Bible poetry parallel.
(1) to labour is a simile of making fruit
(2) to be righteous is the opposite simile to be wicked
(3) to experience life is the opposite simile to experience the sin-offering
What this couplet verse is telling us is, the sin-offering promises life
but only if the sinner labours to make fruit. This means the sinner must allow
Jesus' power to grow in the sinner. If the sin-offering does not bring forth
renewed life than the sinner has not embraced the promised gift of power
in Jesus. And if the sinner has not embraced power from the sin-offering,
than the sinner remains "wicked" in God's eyes.
John explains this verse in similar words like this ....( I will have to translate
these words correctly...the Greek word hamartia "sin" is the Hebrew word
chataah "sin-offering" and the Greek word "poieo" is the Hebrew word "asah"
meaning to "do" )
1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
And now a different translation
1Jo 3:4 Whosoever does a sin-offering does the torah (of salvation): for the
sin-offering is the doing of the torah (of salvation). ( Not sure if this verse is
correct for there is a negative "no" prefix in front of the Hebrew word "torah" ? )
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sin-offering; and in him
is no sin-offering. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth
hath not seen him, neither known him.
John is writing about those who believe in Jesus as their sin-offering,
live in Jesus' power; and therefore do not keep on wilfully sinning. If you do
keep on wilful sinning than it is proof you do not have the power of Jesus
living in you. By your fruits, ye shall know them.
Now to encourage the sinner who fails and makes mistakes with sinning....Often
our sinning is ignorant because we have problems in a relationship when others
come into our bubble space (me and Jesus). When sinful humans in our bubble
space speak, the 'me' speaks rather than the 'Jesus with me' speaks, and we
break off our divine relationship and embrace 'human powered' speaking
instead. This common sinning I do is difficult to resolve because the
'self-powered relationship' is strong. GOD knows this and lovingly
trains us in the correct path of living correctly in His relationship.
Thus my friend do not be discouraged that walking in a realtionship
with Jesus your sinning actually increases rather than decreases.
As long as you know your sinning and your walking in a relationship
with Jesus, your sinning does not break off having a relationship to Jesus.
Humans who choose to sin wilfully choose to do so because they love their pet
sinning habits. Beware of this habit. Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit
in your mind and be obedient to that voice. Be careful for Satan speaks to the
conscience as well. By your fruits ye can discern which strong authority is ruling
over you. God's grace and patience with you, Shalom.
( 199 ) Pr 13:6 Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way : but wickedness overthroweth the sinner "chatta'ah".
.. overthroweth the sin-offering ..
( 200 ) Pr 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation : but sin "chatta'ah" is a reproach to any people .
.. exalteth a nation but sin-offering ..
