.. of riches and the desire of the world..
The world has the idea that to take power is a sign of success. The Bible does
not condemn the desire for power, only that we should give power away, not
take power for selfish use.
A good example of power and desire was Solomon. But as he was given more
power, he desired more. Eventually little by little, he wanted to take power
rather than give power away...so the desire for power corrupted the latter part
of his reign and he sinned.
Tithing was designed by God to reduce the abuse of power through desire.
If we learn to give power away, Jesus can give us more power to give away,
What tends to happen is we become selfish and we take power to ourselves.
Than our desire corrupts us and we sin.
( 38 ) Lu 22:15 And he said unto them , With desire "chamad" I have desired "chamad" to eat this passover with you before I suffer : {With desire...: or, I have heartily desired}

When he speaketh a lie , he speaketh of his own : for he is a liar , and the father of it . {of his own: or, from his own will or disposition}
.. the devil and the desire of your father (Satan) .. Notice Satan is called a
"father" of this world, and we are his "children" Satan fell from heaven because
of sin. He was proud for position, that was not his. And he desired for power,
that was not his.
( 40 ) Ro 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts "chamad" of their own hearts , to dishonour their own bodies between themselves :
.. through the desire ..
