Q79: 86. Go Teach All Nations Show the Desire of Ages is inspired.. (1) Our commission to be His witness At the time appointed, about five hundred believers were collected in little knots on the mountainside, eager to learn all that could be learned Page 819 from those who had seen Christ since His resurrection. But some doubted. So it will always be. There are those who find it hard to exercise faith, and theyplace themselves on the doubting side. These lose much because of their unbelief. But some doubted. They refused to support Jesus, even though they had knowledge of Jesus. Words is not enough, we must support Jesus words in prayer and claim His power in our lives. That is true faith. Being a good or socially important person in a church meeting, is nothing to Jesus. You have to have Jesus' power flowing in your life, and the only way to achieve this is to sow His Words daily...that is what "support" or "faith" means. Shalom Before leaving His disciples, Christ plainly stated the nature of His kingdom. He called to their mindswhat He had previously told them concerning it. He declared that it was not His purpose to establish inthis world a temporal, but a spiritual kingdom. He was not to reign as an earthly king on David'sthrone. Again He opened to them the Scriptures, showing that all He had passed through had beenordained in heaven, in the councils between the Father and Himself. All had been foretold by meninspired by the Holy Spirit. He said, You see that all I have revealed to you concerning My rejection asthe Messiah has come to pass. Jesus supports his little flock of believers by supporting them with His words...words written down and words spoken which would become the NT latter rain of His teachings. Words are important because they are a foundation to our Lord, and through the support of His words, we come to claim His power in our lives. The Saviour's commission to the disciples included all the believers. It includes all believers in Christto the end of time. It is a fatal mistake to suppose that the work of saving souls depends alone on theordained minister . All to whom the heavenly inspiration has come are put in trust with the gospel. Allwho receive the life of Christ are ordained to work for the salvation of their fellow men. For this workthe church was established, and all who take upon themselves its sacred vows are thereby pledged to beco-workers with Christ. All who support Jesus with His words, grow by those words and make fruit by those words of Jesus. People will come to see the fruits of Jesus in us and praise GOD in heaven. All are invited to the witness of His power through our lives. (2) Supporting Jesus does miracles.. The disciples were to have the same power which Jesus had to heal "all manner of sickness and allmanner of disease among the people." By healing in His name the diseases of the body, they wouldtestify to His power for the healing of the soul. Matt. 4:23; 9:6. And a new endowment was nowpromised. The disciples were to preach among other nations, and they would receive power to speakother tongues. It only takes a spark to get a fire going, And soon all those around will be warmed up in it's glowing... That's how it is with God's love...once yo u're experienced it.. You'll spread His love to everyone... You'll want to pass it on.. Modern wonders of Jesus, are His miracles of power flowing through us, as Jesus did healing people of their diseases...The SOP says when we allow Jesus to heal others, if they will support Him, such miracles are a sign the physical healing is assurance Jesus' poweris flowing in us, and our words we speak have living meaning. Shalom In the Saviour's manner of healing there were lessons for His disciples. On one occasion He anointedthe eyes of a blind man with clay, and bade him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam. . . . He went his waytherefore, and washed, and came seeing." John 9:7. The cure could be wrought only by the power ofthe Great Healer, yet Christ made use of the simple agencies of nature. While He did not givecountenance to drug medication, He sanctioned the use of simple and natural remedies. Jesus' miracles was not using drugs made by man, but simple remedies made by God through Nature, and through the wonderful flow of Jesus' love. I wish for you my friend this happiness that I've found, You can depend on Him, it matters not how your bound I 'll shout it from the mountain top, I want the world to know The Lord of Love has come to me, I want to pass it on .. Jesus is a burning, that only needs the support of a mustard seed, to get His fire going, And soon all those around will come to see it's glowing.. That's how it is with God's love, once you're experienced it, You cannot know what makes it glow, You'll want to pass it on.. Knowledge of Jesus will increase in the last days, at the same time a famine for the word happens in the end of time.People can read on this website "how to experience the wonderful salvation of Jesus" as the Sola Scriptoria teaches, but many do not read nor trust to read the narrow way of truth. It is unpopular, and scholars write doubt, and so the words of Hebrew remain hidden behind the translations few people read anyhow. Shalom (3) Supporting Jesus is a community response.. GOD is a family of love, and the circuit of loving is a community response. Notice the inspiration of the SOP:- The Spirit of Prophecy says ... It is Page 823 His plan that every part of His work shall depend on every other part, as a wheel within a wheel, allacting in harmony. The humblest worker, moved by the Holy Spirit, will touch invisible chords, whosevibrations will ring to the ends of the earth, and make melody through eternal ages Where does it say in the Holy Writings, that the Holy Spirit moves people functioning like a "wheel within a wheel" ? Eze 1:20 Whithersoever the spirit(ruwach) was to go, they went (yalak), thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. (KJV) Eze 1:20 Wherever the Holy Spirit walked, they walked, the Holy Spirit walked; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the "Holy Spirit of life" was in the wheels. (Ancient Hebrew) To save time in translating this correctly, the Author uses Jeff Benner's Lexicon dictionary of Hebrew meanings. Eze 1:4 And I looked, and, behold, the Holy Spirit (like a whirlwind), came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereo f as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire (Ancient Hebrew) The whole chapter describes functional aspects of the Holy Spirit, who is the "spirit of life" in Hebrew "ruwach chay" poorly translated in King James as the "spirit of living creatures". Eze 1:24 And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty (Shadday), the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.(KJV) The chapter concludes with another functional Name of Elohiym, the Shadday. In this chapter we have YHWH, Ruwach and Shadday mentioned. Can the SOP tell us who the Shadday is ? O, how much we need genuine missionaries! How much we need men and women who will labor under the supervision of the Almighty, in the power of his Spirit! How much we need those who know that God has called them to his service! It is when the work goes hard, that living missionaries reveal by their courage and fortitude and their trust in God that they are led and taught by the Holy Spirit. {RH, September 27, 1906 par. 24} Passages like this tell us community flow of Elohiym (GOD) is administrated by the Shadday, a term describing the Holy Spirit. RH.1906-09-27.024 (1906) O, how much we need genuine missionaries! How much we need men and women who will labor under the supervision of the Almighty , in the power of his Spirit! How much we need those who know that God has called them to his service! It is when the work goes hard, that living missionaries reveal by their courage and fortitude and their trust in God that they are led and taught by the Holy Spirit. Here the SOP makes it clearer the Shadday (almighty) is a functional descriptor of the Holy Spirit. For more see SOP and Shadday (4) The SOP defines disease.. To many of the afflicted ones who received healing, Christ said, "Sin no more, lest a worse thing comeunto thee." John 5:14. Thus He taught that disease is the result of violating God's laws, both natural andspiritual. The great misery in the world would not exist did men but live in harmony with the Creator'splan. Disease is caused by the breaking of God's teachings, both natural and spiritual as found written in the Bible teachings. Wow ! What a study one could make looking as the health teachings in the Bible. (5) The SOP presents Sola Scriptoria.. Teach the people, He said, "to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." The discipleswere to teach what Christ had taught. That which He had spoken, not only in person, but through all the prophets and teachers of the Old Testament, is here included. Human teaching is shut out. There is noplace for tradition, for man's theories and conclusions, or for church legislation. No laws ordained byecclesiastical auth ority are included in the commission. None of these are Christ's servants to teach."The law and the prophets," with the record of His own words and deeds, are the treasure committed tothe disciples to be given to the world. Christ's name is their watchword, their badge of distinction, theirbond of union, the authority for their course of action, and the source of their success. We are to be lovely people of the Holy Teachings, drinking the words in the former rains (OT) and latter rains (NT). Not rely on human tradition, human decrees and human ideas. (6) The SOP presents lack of support.. The gospel is to be presented, not as a lifeless theory, but as a living force to change the life. There were places where the Saviour Himself could not do many mighty works because of their unbelief. So now unbelief separates the church from her divine Helper. Her hold upon eternal realities is weak. By her lack of faith, God is disappointed, and robbed of His glory. God's wonders will not flow into those who will not "support God's words". Unbelief are people who do not claim the words of Jesus, they will not support Him, they lack true faith in His words. The next chapter of Desire of Ages..we look at "To My Father, and Your Father" |
