Q:10 Reading Scripture correctly? When we start as beginners in Jesus, we begin as babes in Christ, feeding upon the milk of the teachings. Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. (KJV) Peter makes a reference to David's 34th prayer referring to the Lord Jesus and His milk. Ps 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. (KJV) So where in one place of the Bible, is there found, how we read Scripture correctly? Isa 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. Notice Scripture begins as milk, for beginners starting in Jesus. Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: When you drink milk, or the Scriptures, you do so in small child like doses, one at a time. Scripture also says to line up line upon line, in other words all the themes and meanings are studied carefully. Milk is wholesome complete food not unbalanced food. Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. Now Scripture makes a prophecy that a new tongue will go out for those who need refreshing, so the Scriptures will speak to these people. 1Co 14:21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. 23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? Speaking in new tongues properly was what Paul is talking about here. The prophecy also refers equally well to writing Scripture in new tongues for those who need refreshing and cannot understand written Hebrew or spoken Hebrew. Thus this prophecy is saying the New Testament in Greek is a new tongue from a New Testament originally written in Hebrew. Why the Scriptures went out in new tongues is because the Jews did not want to hear, they did not want refreshing, even though Paul was Jewish, he was a rare person in those days speaking both Hebrew, Latin and Greek fluently. What was Paul's mother tongue? Ac 26:14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks (KJV) Jesus spoke to Paul in Hebrew because that is Paul's mother tongue. Jesus also spoke in Hebrew when He came as a Man to the earth to save us. So if we wish to read Scripture correctly, not with " with stammering lips and another tongue", and get a refreshing, otherwise w e do not hear correctly, we read the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments in Hebrew first, and than read that back into our own mother tongue, which for us is English. Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: Isa 28:17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. Isa 34:11 But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness. Scripture says to line up the "words" or "little stones" with each other, plumbing them as a straight line. Line up each Hebrew word to Jesus, the foundation stone. If we don't do this correctly, we get lines of confusion or "fuzzy translations" of the Hebrew into a new tongue. This sadly happens alot in the New Testament and the Old Testament because "holy men" translated as "they saw fit" and "as they thought the people needed to hear". This does not affect the original tongue, only hearing of the Scriptures in our new tongue. Thus we can experience "confusion". Now this could cause beginners on milk to doubt God's word, so learning Scripture in this way is only for "Stronger meat" for those who are mature. Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (KJV) Now we need a simple child like method to line up all the lines in the Bible concerning a word we need to understand. The simplest way to do this is to use an electronic Bible that allows us to read Hebrew interlinear with a translation, and get all the verses that use a particular word.Than we read that word, for a single basic meaning that fits all the contexts of that word in Scripture. But mockers and scholars have attacked this child like method, saying words have multiple meanings, so we need to always trust our scholars, since we are unlearned. Isa 29:12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. 13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: So if you want to remain in a world of confusion, keep trusting your precepts of men, otherwise start learning the child like method of reading Scripture in Hebrew. The Author of this simple salvation presentation here will do this only for one word, that is really important to understand in Hebrew, and that word is "Faith". Here is an important Scripture, Paul uses alot in the New Testament:- Hab 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Desire the second birth daily, in prayer say: Our Father, the straight live by faith. Please teach me what faith means, and how I get more and more of this faith. Amen You have just sown a prayer promise in your mind. ...... Mt 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. The Bible has hidden mysteries for a reason, so only those wanting salvation will find it.So what is the Hebrew meaning of "faith" ? Next, what does "faith" mean in Hebrew? |
