What is Sabbath for?

Sabbath is a special time of ceasing from employment work so one can be refreshed, energized and become joyful and delighted with rest.

Sabbath is a special form of recreation. Normal human recreation involves the elevating of self. God's recreation is different and does not exalt pride. We are to speak God's words through us on Sabbath, and share God's fruits in us with others. The Sabbath day was meant to be a special day for the redemption of others, through praise and worship of Jesus, and through doing redemption in His Name if required. The Sabbath is a Family day. This term includes the inner family of parents as well as the larger family of faithful assemblies, as well as the universe of the Family of GOD.

Jesus said it is lawful to do functional things on Sabbath. Mark 3:4 De 5:15 .....therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to "do" (asah) the sabbath day.

Here Jesus is commanding us inside the changes to the Ten Commandments to do on Sabbath. The Hebrew word asah, means to do. Make. Build. Share. Serve. May we be found active on Sabbath doing redemption for Jesus. Shalom
