| THIRD STEP TO JESUS Q9: How does one destroy affective prayer power ? (1) Pride destroys the power of prayer. GOD will not answer those with pride.
The whole Psalm speaks of prayer : - Ps 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of
his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
The opposite of pride is to be humble :- Ps 10:17 LORD, thou hast heard the
desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
(2) Guilt weakens the flow of prayer power as sinning destroys the relationship
between the sinner and the Saviour. Sinning is extremely dangerous to Jesus
because it breaks the relationship flow of good things in your life. Ps 66:18 If I regard iniquity (guilt) in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: 19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
(3) Presumption immediately destroys the flow of prayer power as this form of
arrogant pride has the sinner assuming the flow of power for self and for selfish
reasons. You cannot prayerfully abuse GOD's commandments for your own
glory. You cannot control GOD's salvation process. GOD's flow of power
through you is for His glory, not yours to assume command of. Ps 19:13 Keep
back thy servant also from presumption ; let them not have dominion over
me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in
thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Be humble to receive Jesus, mournful of power lost and meek to not abuse
His power and your prayers will ever increase in affective power. Shalom
