| Q10: Trees .
Science looks at how Christians grow.
Ho 14:5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. 6 His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon. 7 They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
(1) Christians grow as monocots or dicots , as symbols of plants.
Once a sinner takes the Seed of Jesus, with the hope of salvation
through faith that the Seed will germinate and begin growing straight (righteous),
at some stage after the sin-offering is made unto GOD, the seed becomes
a seedling. The seedling is now a symbol of you, a believer created by
the Holy Spirit into the very sap of Jesus, and thus partakers of His
divine nature. The Bible speaks of this process as a grafting in, of the
human to the divine. The process of grafting is easy for people to
understand. Other symbols such as quickening; the creative process of
the Holy Spirit is a mystery to us all.
Ps 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind (Holy Spirit) bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Here the Holy Spirit begins the literal second birth of the believer, in a creative process that we cannot understand called quickening. The slowest process is to put the right spirit within us, the wind of man, or spirit of man, a poetry symbol for our character, something the Holy Spirit is an administrator medium for.
Ro 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
Here the Bible speaks of grafting, allowing Gentiles to come into the trunk
(a symbol of Jesus, the orginal seed that becomes the seedling support for believers).
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches:
While the concept of humans being a tree, or a graft to the vine, or grass
or some other plant, how the human become partakers of the SEED of Jesus, as
the seedling co-operating with Him, is not explained well in Scripture. It is a
mystery act of the Holy Spirit.
Ps 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Ps 92:12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Now we have shown Christians become partakers into Jesus the Seed as trees,
let's discuss how a tree grows, and see the harmony in how Christians grow in
Jesus. This process of becoming a seedling for Jesus and allowing His work to
flow through you is called the seedling stage, or what scholars call sanctification.
(2) Christians grow as seedling co-operating with Jesus in sanctification.
Ro 15:16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
1Co 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ
Notice sanctification or being made special by GOD involves all members of the Family of GOD, especially Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Isa 40:7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. Pr 11:13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. Isa 44:3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
Trees take up lots of water before sunrise, to keep the leaves cool during the meeting with Sunlight. Christians take up alot of the Holy Spirit before Son-rise, to keep righteousness going during the meeting with GOD's light. After the heat of the day in the meeting, the leaves wilt and become exhausted. After the tribulation of the day bringing troubles, our righteousness fades away and we fall into ignorant sinning. In the cool of the evening the tree drinks again of the water and continue to make food in it's leaves. In the cool of the evening the Christian drinks of the Holy Spirit after the stress has gone, and makes fruits of the Spirit adding further to God's righteousness.
(3) Christians final climax is the production of food following photosynthesis.
The ultimate purpose of being a divine partaker of Jesus power is to make
creative changes to our character ( a literal but mysterious process called
quickening, or what Science calls in the plants photosynthesis). While
this happens in you, the divine process comes from GOD. Science labels
the photosynthesis equation as :-
CO2 + H2O (in the living catalyst in sunlight) = C6H12O6 + O2
The water of the Holy Spirit before this meeting in God's light, + the prayers
of the Holy Spirit mediated by Jesus (in the living presence of the Christian
in the catalyst functional powers of the Holy Spirit, in the righteousness light of
Jesus and the Father) = literal flesh (created from Jesus) + Holy Spirit's
ongoing life (oxygen).
Scripture calls this process a mystery.
The water + food minerals found during Bible study make plasma or blood
as a results of the HS creating the Words of Jesus in you humbly.
Than before the trials of the day begins, you pray via the Holy Spirit to Jesus
ready for the encounter with the Father and the trials of the day. Food is made
, the kind of food that changes character for heaven, real food that empowers
you to live forever in GOD's presence without exhaustion. The process of
making this food change to your character is slow, otherwise God would destroy
the uniqueness of you. The ongoing life process has stages of production, as
former and latter rain of the HS helps in the first and final touches of fruit making.
Tribulation makes fruit sweeter and of higher quality, though painful to the plant
is an affliction brought out by the dysfunction in the world that opposes the
functional changes GOD wants to come over His own. You are tested by your
fruit, fruit made and seasoned by GOD, to God be the glory for your fruit.
Joh 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Joh 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
How do we eat and drink Jesus ?
Ps 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Ps 69:32 The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live "chayah" (quicken) that seek God.
Ps 119:107 � I am afflicted very much: quicken" chayah" (ongoing life) me, O LORD, according unto thy word.
Joh 6:63 It is the spirit (Holy Spirit) that quickeneth " Hebrew chayah" "Greek zoopoieo"(ongoing life) ; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit (of the Holy Spirit) , and they are life "Hebrew "chay" (life) "Greek zoe".
1Pe 3:18 � For Christ also hath once suffered for "sin-offerings", the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Ps 51:10 Create "bara" (fill me up by GOD's engineering) in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit ( a functional character or wind that can live forever in heaven) within me.
The creative mysterious process of making Jesus' character a part of my
character is what Scripture calls the quickening spirit, the right spirit within me.
It comes to me via Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
And finally we make fruit, the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
Mt 13:8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. Ga 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Heb 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Some fruits are of higher quality when produced in tribulation. Some trees require
vernalization or some trial to trigger the fruiting stage. The fruit is usually sweeter
and more nutritious than without tribulation.
Mt 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. Mt 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Mt 24:32 � Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
Mt 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
Mt 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Heb 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Jas 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
Re 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
There is much more Science one could apply to how Christians grow.
This is an introduction into the harmony of GOD's creative world and
