SECOND STEP TO JESUS Q6: What is the purpose of Bible study ? The purpose of Bible study is to make your attitude humble to receive Jesus daily. The opposite of humility is pride. Jas 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Pride is symbolized in the Bible as stony hard soil, or rocky high places. In
Hebrew a special rock called "cela" is used to figure Jesus, but it is also used
to symbol those who in pride think themselves as equal to the rock of ages.
Jer 23:29 Is not my word "dabar" like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock "cela" in pieces?
As you read your Bible, your pride is weathered away into soil, and the seeds
of Jesus germinate in your mind. The more you read in humility, the better
the soil becomes, promising more harvest.
Mt 13:8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
Begin my friend each day reading Jesus' words. Feel the weathering process
of the Holy Spirit and the growth in Jesus. Shalom
