What is sanctification?

SECOND STEP TO JESUS Q4: What are steps of salvation ?

Step 1 Ho 14:1 O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Step 2 Ho 14:2 Take with you words, and turn to the LORD...

In the Saviour Principle you have seen the first step to being saved. The verse in Hosea starts off with your Name "O Israel" and the Name of your Saviour "LORD elohiym" and includes the reason why you are fallen is your guilt (iniquity is a poor translation). Notice the first step also includes the Hebrew word shuwb "return" in the second step "turn", so repenting is a process of turning homeward to Jesus as a progression of relationship, rather than an independent step of process. In fact all four steps can be achieved each day in seven seconds, and this relationship is called the germination of Jesus. However there is another relationship progression that produces more fruit in a sinner called by scholars sanctification, or what the Bible describes as growing in Jesus daily. The purpose of studying each step of this relationship progression is to embrace how sinners grow in Jesus daily and what the human work of co-operating with Jesus' divine power is.

In the second step, to return homeward to Jesus each day we have to "take words with us". This Hebrew word "dabar" is identified in the New Testament as Jesus Himself. Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God (Elohiym) , and the Word was God (Elohiym). May we take Jesus' words with us each day. Shalom
