SECOND STEP TO JESUS Q3: What does repent mean ? Ac 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Ac 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
Notice repentance is a gift from GOD when you as a sinner return home
to Jesus. Jesus forgives your sins and gives you another gift, the Holy Spirit,
who lives inside of your mind. Repentance is turning away from your old ways
and turning homeward to new ways in Jesus. Repentance is also listening to the
still small voice of Jesus talking to you via your conscience, via the Holy Spirit
who becomes the medium through which the voice of Jesus is heard.
These gifts are received by taking. Have faith to take. You have already
received these gifts if you have given your will to Jesus in the Saviour Principle.
There are two Hebrew words that embrace the concept of repentance.
Ps 90:13 Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy
servants. This is a poetry parallel expressing similes.
Shuwb is the action of returning home .
Nacham is the feelings of sorrow required to return home.
May we learn returning home each day to Jesus. Shalom
