.. accept of the punishment of their guilt .. Strange that land can be punished by our guilt. It seems this entanglement as a result of sinning, is a concept with far reaching consequences.
( 26 ) Nu 5:15 Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest , and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal ; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy , an offering of memorial , bringing iniquity "`avon" to remembrance .
.. memorial bringing guilt ..The guilt offering, hardly seen in churches these days, is Biblical. Such as offering is to make ammends for the entanglement you sinning has made on others, and show your love for others by making such an offering to GOD.
( 27 ) Nu 5:31 Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity "`avon", and this woman shall bear her iniquity "`avon".
.. .. the man be guiltless from guilt ..shall bear her guilt ..Then the man is freed from his guilt, and the woman shall bear her own guilt. Notice the King James version translates "avon" in the first occurence correctly.
( 28 ) Nu 14:18 The LORD is longsuffering , and of great mercy , forgiving iniquity "`avon" and transgression , and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity "`avon" of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
.. .. mercy forgiving guilt ..the guilty, visiting the guilt .. GOD forgives our guilt, the entanglement we make on ourselves and others, and even the land we walk upon.
