One of the problems of the "self indulgent person", the theme
we are studying is the clinging we do to fellow humans....
we enjoy the presence of fellow humans...in a school level
this is called peer group pressure, we cling to our human heroes
and are influenced to do as they do, street crime, street violence
and street stealing, all the things youth in groups are empowered
to do by clining to other human beings and human power.
At an adult level, this continues with adults clinging to communities
of friends, or work colleagues or work mates. We adopt their
religion of Baal, because Baal is an exciting religion, no doubt
about that with all its self indulgance, of lust, appetite and
pleasures. A human effort of heart feelings that flows to nothing.
Remember the word Baal is a religion of fun indulgence.
Remember the Hebrew word Bal is a word that means
the opposite of the Word heart, a flow of the heart that comes to nothing.
What a sad was to describe Satan's religious efforts !
Beware of friends, and clinging to social groups !
How often in churches dedicated to Baal worship we
see the circle of friends clinging to their social values
and their social ego, climbing the social ladder of
acceptance, fueled by the latest gossip and empowered
by the latest toy to enter your possession. You can see
such Baal religious people by the display of their clothes,
the array of their jewels, lusty designs and costly garments.
You can see the actions of such people for they walk
strong, their neck muscles stretch, the Bible calls these
the stiff necks. Learn to read the Ancient Hebrew and
you will see non-verbal behavioural clues all over people.
May God help us to see the curse of self,
and the curse of self indulgence. Shalom
