Surrender to Jesus

"Palms home pressed"

Many see surrender as some final process of knowing Jesus, that stops us from receiving daily the power of Jesus flowing in our lives. Many preach surrender the final Step to Jesus.

Is surrender a final step to Jesus? No

Ge 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue (kabash) it:

Here is the first mention of the Hebrew word for "surrender", also translated as "subdue". Mankind was supposed to press caring hands on the earth's dominion. Too often we think of "subdue" as controlling and "treading underfoot" earth's resources.

Jos 18:1 .. And the land was subdued (kabash) before them.

Here Israel receives their land from GOD. This is possibly why "subdue" has the idea of walking over something to rule over it:-

In Joshua 1:3, God tells Joshua, spelled as Yeshua, a figure of Jesus, to walk over the land, so the children of Israel support God by building a huge double wall shape around the ark and camping area in the shape of a shoe. These pictures from Don Batton's research shown via U-Tube video.

Here Miles Jones discovered rocks near Mount Sinai with foot prints carved into the rock.

The Hebrew letter "kaff" has a cup shaped curve, meaning the cup of the palms and the cup of the foot, the three lines symbolize the digits of the palms or the foot. Hence the Israelites were saying, God says where we walk with our foot, we will subdue.

Hence the letter K, like the Hebrew word "kabash" or in English "surrender", includes the actions of the palms, as well as the foot.

Mic 7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue (kabash) our iniquities;

Here GOD "presses our guilt with His hands" and throws our sin-offerings into the depths of the sea !

In the NT, Paul uses this Hebrew word, in a different way, explaining why Israel never became a follower of Jesus:-

Ro 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted (Greek hupotasso ) (Hebrew kabash) "surrendered or subdued" themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Israel empowered themselves with their own Baal masters powers of self, establishing their own straightness by following the teachings, rather than supporting the teachings which promises Divine power through them.

Notice the steps to Christ, from Ellen White and the words Jesus told her to write:-

  • (1) God's love for man
  • (2) The Sinner's Need of Christ
  • (3) Repentance
  • (4) Confession
  • (5) Consecration
  • (6) Faith and Acceptance
  • (7) The Test of Discipleship
  • (8) Growing Up Into Christ
  • (9) The Work and the Life
  • (10) A Knowledge of God
  • (11) The Privilege of Prayer
  • (12) What to Do with Doubt
  • (13) Rejoicing in the Lord

In these salvational steps to Christ, surrender is not listed as a step, surrender is a process of achieving daily all these steps.

When you place Ellen White's Steps to Christ, next to Yeshua's Special Scriptures that show us salvational steps using Hebrew words, we see both "steps to Jesus" match, and there is no mention of "surrender" as a "step to Jesus".

Here are all six contexts where Ellen White, our Hebrew-English translator, uses the term "surrender" in Steps to Christ:-

EGW SC (1) Jesus said, "Therefore doth My Father love Me, because I lay down My life, that I might take it again." John 10:17. That is, "My Father has so loved you that He even loves Me more for giving My life to redeem you. In becoming your Substitute and Surety, by surrendering My life, by taking your liabilities, your transgressions, I am endeared to My Father; for by My sacrifice, God can be just, and yet the Justifier of him who believeth in Jesus."SC p 14

The very first mention of "surrender" in the booklet, Steps to Christ, concerns Jesus "palms home pressing" unto His Father's love, for us. Surrender is a pressing for power.

Jesus became a human under the salvation steps of the Father, and to achieve this salvational process Jesus had to surrender His will daily to the Father, and support His Father's words in the OT Teachings. Thus Jesus was saved by faith power in His Father's life flowing through Jesus. This is the same process we are saved, except we cannot be saved directly by our Father, because we have already sinned once since our birth, so our salvation rescue comes via Jesus our Saviour, who came down to our level adding humanity to Himself.

Imagine the enourmous daily temptations of Jesus while on earth dressed in humanity, to use His own Baal Master powers of Self, rather than support His Father's words to gain that daily flow of the Father's power through Jesus life on earth as the Son of Man. Our Baal Master powers of self, is weak, but Jesus Baal Master powers of Self was His own Divinity as an Elohiym Power. He could have achieved all things using His own powers as a member of Elohiym, unlike our human powers of weakness. But doing this, would be missing relationship to His Father, defined as sin. Love is always relational, so powers must flow by pressing unto source.

When Satan tempted Jesus to turn stones to bread, this is something only Divinity could do, Jesus supported His Father's words and quoted Deutronomy 8:3 back to Satan. This is how salvational support works, which humans translate as "faith".

So this first temptation to do sin, was to show us "self" as an independent power - Jesus was the word, personified in His Father's words. Satan was asking Jesus to do something using self, without pressing unto His Father. To use the promises of power, to satisfy self. Jesus' answer was this is not "supporting His Father", so He would not do this request.

So on the second temptation to do sin, Satan quoted a Bible promise and said, well let's test to see if the promises truly work. This sin is about the presumptous use of Bible promises to boast in self. But again, Jesus says we are not to test the Bible promises of power. That is not supporting GOD, but supporting SELF.

Finally on the third temptation to make Jesus sin, Satan asked Jesus to worship "self" - Satan's world. But Jesus would not acknowledge that "self" as a world invented by Satan even exists independently without God, so said we can only worship GOD and remain supporting relational love.

EGW SC (2) The warfare against self is the greatest battle that was ever fought. The yielding of self, surrendering all to the will of God, requires a struggle; but the soul must submit to God before it can be renewed in holiness. SC p 44

The English terms "surrender", "submit", "yield" and "subdue" are all similar meanings to the Hebrew word "kabash". Surrender is the process of giving your will daily to Jesus, supporting His support, rather than you doing your own thing with your own human powers.

EGW SC (3) Many are inquiring, "How am I to make the surrender of myself to God?" You desire to give yourself to Him, but you are weak in moral power, in slavery to doubt, and controlled by the habits of your life of sin. Your promises and resolutions are like ropes of sand. You cannot control your thoughts, your impulses, your affections. The knowledge of your broken promises and forfeited pledges weakens your confidence in your own sincerity, and causes you to feel that God cannot accept you; but you need not despair. What you need to understand is the true force of the will. This is the governing power in the nature of man, the power of decision, or of choice. Everything depends on the right action of the will. The power of choice God has given to men; it is theirs to exercise. You cannot change your heart, you cannot of yourself give to God its affections; but you can choose to serve Him. You can give Him your will; He will then work in you to will and to do according to His good pleasure. Thus your whole nature will be brought under the control of the Spirit of Christ; your affections will be centered upon Him, your thoughts will be in harmony with Him. SC p 48

There is a daily communication dialogue inside your conscience mind, between you talking and Jesus listening, and Jesus talking and you listening. This communication channel is brought to you via the Holy Spirit, and is available to both wicked people and followers of Jesus alike. In the case of a follower of Jesus, His power flowing daily through you changes your character, you do what Jesus would do, and live how Jesus would live. Many of us hop between two rulers in our mind, our own Baal Master powers of self, doing as we please, and Jesus' powers flowing through us as a wonder with all its beauty and grace. We need to stop hopping between two masters, and choose Jesus daily as our Lord and Saviour. Let His powers master our lives.

Surrender is a daily pressing of your palms of doing, or your soles of walking, towards the Divine HOME, and you press for His power.

Lu 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith (Greek: pistis Hebrew :emunah ) "support" fail not: and when thou art converted (Greek:epistrepho Hebrew:shuwb) "turned", strengthen thy brethren. (KJV)

Peter was hopping between his own Baal Master powers of Self and Jesus as His Master all the time, and some say Peter was converted after this event. Maybe. The Hebrew word for this is "shuwb" to "turn", and is often translated as "repent", as if "repentence" is something we do only once, we are baptised only once, and thus saved by Jesus only once. That might be OK for "sin-offering", the event we accept as Jesus became the "sin-offering" as our Lamb for our "missing". But the battle over our minds and who rules our minds is a daily matter. We need hop over more strongly in our minds to Jesus, as Peter finally did.

EGW SC (4) Through the right exercise of the will, an entire change may be made in your life. By yielding up your will to Christ, you ally yourself with the power that is above all principalities and powers. You will have strength from above to hold you steadfast, and thus through constant surrender to God you will be enabled to live the new life, even the life of faith. SC p 48

The hardest thing to do is to support Jesus' words daily, so His support comes back to us. To achieve this, the follower of Jesus needs to memorise the words of Jesus in His teachings as prayers for the inner mind, so we speak them silently as prayers of promised power.

For example, walking past dysfunctional food, we can support Jesus by saying Lord lead me not into temptation by deliver me from all things dysfunctional. In seconds this support you claim in Jesus flows back to you and Jesus supports you back with victory and your eyes go elsewhere. A missing relationship, known as sinning, is simply when we do not support Jesus words of promised power. In Yeshua 13:6, when we forget to support Jesus; we rise in self exaltation, because we are filled with His power from a previous wonder. When you experience success from supporting Jesus' words of promised power, do not become happy and content...instead give away your fruits of joy to others, so you remain always hungry and thirsty for Jesus, for a tomato plant ony keeps on producing produce as long as someone picks the fruit off and gives them away.

EGW SC (5) More than this, Christ changes the heart. He abides in your heart by faith. You are to maintain this connection with Christ by faith and the continual surrender of your will to Him; and so long as you do this, He will work in you to will and to do according to His good pleasure. SC p 63

You are to maintain this connection with Christ by supporting His support. This is done by your will in continual surrender. The palms of your hand are "home with Jesus" pressed.

    "surrender"

EGW SC (6) Consecrate yourself to God in the morning; make this your very first work. Let your prayer be, "Take me, O Lord, as wholly Thine. I lay all my plans at Thy feet. Use me today in Thy service. Abide with me, and let all my work be wrought in Thee." This is a daily matter. Each morning consecrate yourself to God for that day. Surrender all your plans to Him, to be carried out or given up as His providence shall indicate. Thus day by day you may be giving your life into the hands of God, and thus your life will be molded more and more after the life of Christ. SC p 70

Every morning do the Science of Salvation, and throughout the seconds of your day, communicate with Jesus, Lord what words of support do I need now, for your support to come flowing in me?

Here are simple pictures of "surrender" or "subdue" as a process of salvation:-

What support was this woman doing? The "palms of her hand", gets near the "home garments of Jesus" and she "presses". The spark received, results from a process called "surrender".

"It only takes a "spark", to get a fire going"..

It is also a process of faith, the way we support Jesus. What words did she support?

Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Servant of righteousness arise with healing in his corners of His garment; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. (Ancient Hebrew)

This verse, changed by Jeff Benner, shows the Hebrew, and the woman supported Jesus' words in the OT, and using her palms of her hand, went to the "home of Jesus" and pressed. When she supported Jesus correctly, Jesus supported her back, with a flow of His power. O wonder shalom !

We are making the child like process of having a relationship with Jesus, too complicated...it's really very simple, and both "faith and surrender processes" happen simultaneously, when the woman went to Jesus. The same child like simplicity exists in the Steps of Jesus, in Yeshua 14:1-2. Only the stiff necked ones want difficult ways to find Jesus, and so the SOP gives it to us. Children have no trouble is receiving Jesus power in their lives daily, and we must learn the same.

Mt 9:27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.

What words of support did these men speak?

    Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Isa 42:7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Lu 4:21 And He began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

The blind men heard these words, and supported the fact the "son of David" came to open the eyes of the blind, to loose them out of prison.

28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe (pisteuo) "support" ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.

29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith (pistis) "support" be it unto you. (KJV)

And so the palms of Jesus' hands, comes towards the eyes of the blind men, and presses power unto them.

Surrender is the process of receiving Jesus.

In this picture of "surrender" the child's palms are over the "home of Jesus" and she presses to hold Him. Jesus palms are over the "home of the child" and He presses back. As you support Jesus, He supports you back.

This is how blessings from Jesus come to those of "child like faith".

    "Palms home press"

When you have "Jesus" you are home. "Home is a Person", sure it might also be a place, but when the thief supported Jesus on the Cross, that very day the thief was in Paradise. "His palms found Home, and He pressed". This is the Hebrew meaning of "surrender".

When your palms press on something, you care deeply, and that something responds by pressing into your love, this is surrender.

"Patting a dog" is a "mother nature simile" of how we humans, "surrender to the Master's love". With the same "child like faith", we must do the same. Shalom

Yeshua 14:1 O sinner, return unto the LORD thy Elohiym; for thou hast fallen by thine guilt. (Ancient Hebrew)

The process of turning to Jesus correctly causes "surrender" of your will, to Him.

Mt 13:4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

When you receive the "words of promised power", sow them in your heart, do not procrastinate, or waste missed opportunitues. Support Jesus correctly and He will support you back.

Mt 13:5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

Guilt, propensities and Baal Master powers of self, need breaking up, to receive the "words of promised power" into your heart. The "words of Jesus" plough deeply if you let them. Do not expect a half baked attempt to get His flowing in you very far. Learn the Salvational Steps to Jesus carefully.

These New Testament pictures of how to maintain a relationship to Jesus, are shown to the reader because this is Hebrew sola scriptoria. There are no other easy pictures of the former and latter rains of Jesus, falling on us in ways even a child can understand.

Do not be swayed by human attempts explaining revival. Hebrew sola scriptoria shows the process of salvation in Jesus, the former growth of us sowing His Seed, and the latter growth of us as His seedling.

There might be other similes of salvation, such as money, the lost coin, but other "object lessons" are not as common as "agricultural object lessons". The Hebrews lived as nomads on the land of blessing, and so Scripture comes to us as poetry with these object lessons as similes for us to learn. Shalom

A thought on 9 June 2020 from God.. With your palms, take the words of Jesus, to the home of your heart, and press them for a flow of His power. Doing this is daily surrender. So easy a child can do it.

A thought on 10 June 2020 from God.. With your palms, take the "manna", to the home of your mouth, and press teeth to "eat" receiving, a flow of His power. Eating food shows surrender simply.

A thought on 2 July 2020 from God..

    On our wedding anniversary day:-

A woman presses her palms home toward her husband so there is a pressing of relational power flowing between them. Many have twisted the term "surrender" or "submit" as an excuse to control the other, so one personality rules over the other personality. But this is not how relational love works.

God does not require you to give up your decision processes when you press unto Him, but the pressing is so you flow joyfully in relational power. Not doing things using your own power. Shalom

Finally some treasured quotes by the "Hebrew to English" translator:-

    (1) From the manger to the cross, the life of Jesus was a call to self-surrender, and to fellowship in suffering. Desire of Ages

This webpage is an excellent page for reading.

    (2) Even the disciples failed of understanding all that Jesus desired to reveal to them; but from time to time, as they surrendered themselves to the Holy Spirit's power, their minds were illuminated. Desire of Ages

See how the SOP defines surrender.

    (3) Had this been given, they would have remained as unbelieving as before. If they were not convinced by what they had seen and heard, it was useless to show them more marvelous works. Unbelief will ever find excuse for doubt, and will reason away the most positive proof. Desire of Ages

Finally, this webpage shows us how to surrender and be saved by Jesus, but many will not accept it. Your message is "too deep" they say, and so they walk away, even walking away from "knowing God".
