Faith study, amen, examples of community pronoun preference in Hebrew

HYPOTHESIS: What does Faith mean?

This is the "verb form" and has the same meaning as the "noun form" we looked at in the last webpage. This form of support is commonly translated as "believe".

DISCUSSION: Some contexts:-

Context (1) : Our first passage is about Abraham's support in the LORD.

Ge 15:6 And he believed (aman) "supported" in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

How does Abraham support YHWH, to be counted as one being straight?

Ge 12:4 � So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him:

Abram hears YHWH speak and departs into a strange land as requested by God.

Ge 13:17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

Abram walked over the promised land in his tent, showing support to God's word of this promised land.

Ge 14:20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

Since God supported Abram in battle for Lot, Abram supported God with tithe and offerings.

Ge 15:3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.

In a vision, Abram hears GOD and talks to Him, thus supporting God with words.

Ge 15:8 And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

Abram asks for a sign of GOD, supporting his words.

Ge 15:17 � And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.

The burning came in two simile pictures, a furnace and a lamp, and was the sign Abram needed, for GOD was supporting His words, with a promised burning.

This "promised burning" came to Abram, as the Father's messenger, in burning form like an angel, was Jesus, the Father's Son, who would continue the Family of God's love over the earth.

Context (2) : Consider how others relate to our support to God, will other people support us, as His witness?

Ex 4:1 � And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe (aman) "support" me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.

Moses asks GOD for a sign, so the brothers will support Moses, who is supporting GOD. And this sign becomes Moses' rod that changes into a serpent.

Context (3) : Consider our heavenly Father as a supporter..

Nu 11:12 Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father (aman) "as a Supporter" beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?

Notice the function of a "supporter" is a simile of heavenly parents, who nurse the children, but sadly the children grow proud of their "man" or Jesus who feed them, and wanted the "flesh foods of Egypt".

Context (4) : Now consider who do NOT support GOD as they should..

  • Nu 12:7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful (aman) "supportive" in all mine house.
  • 8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
  • 9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.
  • 10 � And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
  • 11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.
  • 12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.

    Moses is supportive with YHWH-Jesus. This is contrasted with Aaron and Miriam, who are not as supportive.

    The passage is about Miriam and her disease of not "supporting the Lord", so why Aaron saying lay not the sin upon us, let not her flesh be dead as he who comes for his mother's womb? This is either Aaron making reference to male babies being half dead, as his sister is now half dead with leprousy, or it is the unusual way Hebrew writes the masculine over the presence of feminine, even when both are together in context.

    Is there another example of this pronoun masculine preference?

    Ps 91:1 � He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High ( Father) shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Shadday).

  • 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
  • 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
  • 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings...

    In this passage the Most High is the Father, who is in a secret place, is made as a shadow by the Shadday, or Holy Spirit. How can the Father be under His wings? Does the Father have wings like a bird? Or is the Holy Spirit, who functions as the Shadday, functions as a bird with her wings?

    Ho 4:19 The wind (ruwach) "Holy Spirit" hath bound her up in herwings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices. (KJV)

    The masculine reference to the Father is written in preference to the feminine presence of the Shadday or Holy Spirit, because when both personalities of love are present, the masculine personality takes preference.

    Is there another example of this community pronoun preference?

    Lu 13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! (KJV)

    The only writings Jesus is supporting here is this OT simile:

    De 32:11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

    The word "fluttereth" is also used in Gen 1:2, for the functioning movement of the Holy Spirit, thus Jesus is making a simile of himself, as a nursing supporter, both as a father and a mother. Yet while this passage refers to the Holy Spirit and her wings of protection, Jesus makes the simile refer to Himself and His wings of protection.

    Is there another example of masculine pronoun preference?

    Ge 49:25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty (Shadday), who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: (KJV)

    Here the picture simile is the Shadday with breasts and womb, as the Hebrew word "Shadday" actually means, is also equated to the functional role of the heavenly Supporter, our Father.

    This is suggesting the "heavenly Supporter" comes in two functional roles, the "supportive strong one in heaven" (or on earth we say "father") and the "supportive strong bonder in heaven's home", (or on earth we say "mother"). This suggests Hebrew is about functional aspects of action, not descriptions of things. This is why the Author says love is a family concept of heavenly supporters, one who functions with "maleness-love" and the other who functions with "femaleness-love". This does not mean the members of the Godhead are gender male or gender female. Such references do NOT exist in the Holy Writings. Whether GOD chooses to manifest the Family in ways earthlings understand, is up to the Family of Elohiym.

    Context (5) :

  • De 1:32 Yet in this thing ye did not believe (aman) "support" the LORD your God,

    The children of Israel did not enter the promise land, except for Joshua and Caleb, all the others did NOT support GOD.

    How was Israel, to support GOD?

  • De 1:34 And the LORD heard the voice of your words,...
  • De 1:43 So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear,...

    So it is important to remain in partnered relationship to GOD via Jesus our Saviour, that you

  • support Jesus by speaking His words
  • speak your own words that demonstrate your support to GOD

    Context (6) : God: a supportive Family

    De 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful (aman) "supportive" God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

    How can the word "aman" mean "believe" in some contexts and "faithful" in others? But if we make the word consistent in meaning, as all words do, with a basic meaning, than we see GOD is a Supportive God, and the Family of Elohiym who supports us, wants man to support Elohiym back.

    That makes sense. This is what parents do for their children. The parents support their children and in turn they want the children to support them back.

    Notice how our Elohiym supports:-

  • Elohiym guards His covenant..
  • Elohiym guards the commandments

    This makes GOD a God of Order, of logic, and a follower of natural laws, which were created by God in the first place. While God is not bound by His own laws, God is a supporter of those laws, and thus we can trust God.

    Context (7) : Support God's commands

    Ps 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed (aman) "supported" thy commandments.

    If you are in relationship to Jesus, you will support His commandments. And to remain in relationship with the Father, you must also support His commandments. The difference between the two is not that Jesus abolished entire commandments upon the Cross as many believe, assuming such an abstract word exists in Hebrew, which it doesn't. Notice the next verse:

    Ps 119:67 � Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

    The translated word here for "word" is "imrah", which is "Jesus personified". The Author will show the reader translations for "imrah" in verses using "Jesus personified" rather than the KJV of "word".

  • Ps 12:6 The "Jesus personified" of the Father-LORD are pure "Jesus personified" words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
  • Ps 119:11 � Thy "Jesus personified" have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin (chata) "miss" against thee.
  • Ps 119:50 � This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy "Jesus personified" hath quickened (chayah) me.
  • Ps 119:123 � Mine eyes fail for thy salvation (Yeshua), and for the "Jesus personified" of thy righteousness.
  • Pr 30:5 Every "Jesus personfied" of God (Eloah) "the Father" is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

    When the person who supports Jesus with His words personified, does this with genuine care, Jesus promises to quicken you with ongoing living. The OT functional name for "Jesus personified" is "Yeshua" or salvation, as shown in the Holy Writings here. Notice the last Holy Writing verse is strange, the "Jesus personfied" words of the Father is pure. This is like equating Jesus as the Father, or the Father as the "imrah" the Word personified. There are false theories of support that say the Father YHWH is all there is in heaven, the Jews claimed to worship only "one God", and this was why Abram was called from the worship of "many gods". Is this true? No..

    Ge 20:13 And it came to pass, when ELOHIM (with plural verb) caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said unto her, This is thy kindness which thou shalt shew unto me; at every place whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.

    "So contrary to the expected rule of Elohim getting a singular verb, here Elohim gets a plural verb. Because of this plural verb, we could literally translate this phrase "gods caused me to wander". From this verse alone it indeed appears that Abraham worshipped multiple gods whom he believed had caused him to wander from his father's house. However, this hardly fits the overall picture."

    Gordon has a theory of faith that says the majority of passages over rules the meaning of minor problem ones, whereas a true Bible scholar must fit all Bible contexts into a single overall picture...Every Bible context must make sense. It seems even Abraham knew Elohim meant a "Heavenly kind of powers".

    Is there any Holy Writings that equate Jesus directly with the Father? yes

  • Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
  • Joh 1:1 � In the beginning was the Word (imrah) "Jesus personified", and the Word (imrah) "Jesus personified" was with God (Elohiym), and the Word (imrah) "Jesus personified" was God (Elohiym).

    Both these holy writings show Jesus personified as words, are the same words as the Father in heaven.

    Context (8) : Avoid deception..

  • Pr 14:15 � The simple believeth (aman) "support" every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

    No wonder simple people are easily deceived, because they support authorities based on so little evidence. Should we trust our Government right up to the end of time, when Sunday worship of naturalism comes and when Evolution as a Religion reigns globally?

    Context (9) : A Bible picture of faith

  • Isa 22:23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure (aman) "supportive" place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.

    This Holy Writing clinches the study for so called "faith" , what simile picture is "faith" like a nail on the wall in the Father's house? Makes no sense does it ? But if we say the "saved one is like a nail in a supportive place on the wall of his Father's house", that makes perfect sense, for nails firmly support something that hangs from it, like a picture.

    Context (10) : A witness is a support

  • Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD-JESUS, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe (aman) "support" me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God (el) "Strong Authority" formed, neither shall there be after me.
  • 11 I, even I, am the JESUS-LORD; and beside me there is no saviour (yasha).

    This writing says to support "Jesus-YHWH" who is not formed as a Strong Authority, later on, nor is our "yasha" later on, but is the only "Saviour" now.

    False theories of faith, say YHWH is the only heavenly Being, our Father. A saviour like human son was created later on in Mary's womb, violates this Holy Writing here. The Father-YHWH cannot be our Saviour, because the Father did not die for sinners, so the Saviour referenced here must be Jesus-YHWH.

    The "yasha" who saves, has to be Jesus-YHWH now in this verse, and to experience salvation we have to support His words, even from OT times.

    Isa 53:1 � Who hath believed (aman) "supported" our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

  • 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

    We have to support Jesus words and the way He grew up in human likeness as the Son of Man, as this passage says, becoming our Sin-offering sin-bearer.

    Next we look at New Testament places where the Hebrew word (aman) was used, but translated as "believe" from the Greek word (pisteuo).
