human traditions of Scripture,

Q68: 75. Before Annas and the Court of Caiaphas

Show the Desire of Ages is inspired..

(1) Man made traditions

Little did Caiaphas realize its meaning. In this act, done to influence the judges and secureChrist's condemnation, the high priest had condemned himself. By the law of God he was disqualifiedfor the priesthood. He had pronounced upon himself the death sentence.A high priest was not to rend his garments. By the Levitical law, this was prohibited under sentence ofdeath. Under no circumstances, on no occasion, was the priest to rend his robe. It was the customamong the Jews for the garments to be rent at the death of friends, but this

custom the priests were not to observe. Express command had been given by Christ to Mosesconcerning this. Lev. 10:6.

By rending his garments, Caiaphas made of no effect the law of God, to follow the tradition of men. Aman-made law provided that in case of blasphemy a priest might rend his garments in horror at the sin,and be guiltless. Thus the law of God was made void by the laws of men.

Le 10:6 And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.

The command is written so small in this verse, yet human tradition overruled it.

How many other human tradition do we follow, overruling Scripture?

Ex 22:16 And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.

This is a judgement regarding the ten commandments of adultery, causing shameful marriage. Notice the two virgins are not stoned, but regarded as married, and required the blessing of the family.

Instead in human traditions, the Seventh Day Adventist members get so hot, that the poor SDA coupled shamefully married are disfellowshipped. How many couples have we lost because we overrule Scripture following human traditions?

Ex 23:10 And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:

This Scripture is about the ten commandments of "coverting property that belongs to the Lord"; is also overruled by human traditions of ignorannce...The Author has personally used this verse... The church came one day when the Author was head of Agriculture and asked how does the Church remove nematode infestation from their land, the Church used to make money from.

The Author requested the land be fallowed and placed under rest, since this verse has not been followed, the land has come under God's curse rather than God's blessing.

But the land is not just a literal symbol of soil, but also a spiritual symbol of human endeavour...every seven years as a Church, we should have a Jubilee festival helping the poor for a whole year. Again we do not follow the Scripture...at best we pick and choose the ones we like and say the rest do not apply anymore.

Ex 23:14 Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.

This Scripture is about a judgment concerning the first commandment of the ten commadments; "I am your Saviour".

Ho 13:4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

Here is a repeat of the first of the Ten Commandments, from the book of Yeshua, regarding Jesus as our Saviour.

Rather than say the "love feasts" of Jesus are abolished on His Cross, we need to view them as new wine in a renewed setting, as Jesus showed us using the Passover as an example:

Jesus changes the Passover from animal sacrifice for sin-offering to plant sacrifice for sin-offering, the fruit of the plant : flour and grape juice.Notice both are processed without much technology into flat bread and new wine. The lack of technology is impoortant, because God hates mankind changing things.Mankind and his so called technology is really a "sinful idol" in the eyes of the Lord.

So does the Lord's Ordinance point forward in time? Yes

Does the Lord's Ordinance point to another event Jesus would do in the future for his own? Yes

Mt 26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

Why doesn't Jesus drink wine in heaven? Because a High Priest is not allowed to...

Eze 44:21 Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner court.(KJV)

So Scripture on earth applies to Scripture in heaven and vice versa. A small point there is a literal sanctuary in heaven too.But notice, as believers on Jesus, we are waiting for the great wedding feast....at an appointed time, known only by the Father...

Do SDA people follow the love feasts of Jesus knowing that all the feasts point forward to different future events?

Again we follow human traditions, rather than Scripture.

There are many more traditions overruling Scripture, but the reader gets the idea...

Scripture tells you how Scripture should be read.

The former teachings (OT) and the latter teachings (NT) are similes of the former and latter rain of Jesus...

Many SDA read the latter rain teachings most, overruling the teachings of the former rain.Should not both teachings be in harmony with each other?Jesus does not change and His teachings are without error or change.

Beware of human traditions and human translations. Ask your tutor, the Holy Spirit for help.

How do we know we have the right understanding of Scripture, rather than a false understanding?

Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

What is law ?

Human tradition, even my SDA scholar expert in Greek and Hebrew, says (torah) law means the first five books of Moses, and nothing more. He follows human traditions, and was trained in a human school of education expertly following human traditions.

So what does Scripture say law means?

Jos 24:26 And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God,

Now Joshua, spelled Yeshua or Jesus, wrote all these words in a scroll of the law of Elohiym. Were Jesus' words added to the scrolls of Moses, becoming a larger collection of five books? No.The Scroll of Jesus is a sixth scroll, as a reader counting the scolls in the Bible will see.

2Ch 15:3 Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.

There are two Hebrew words related to each other:

"Yarah" (3384) "The active hands of the head of the Person!", is a Teacher teaching.

"Twrah" (8451) "The cross secures the head of the Person!", is the "teachings" of the Teacher.

Don't you love how easy Scripture is to understand? Now for a long time Israel has been without the true Elohiym, without a teaching priest, and wi thout teachings.

If you don't read Jesus' teachings correctly without the Holy Spirit as your teacher on earth, teaching you the teachings of Jesus, written in His former rain and latter rain, how is the reader, as a child, going to learn about Jesus?

Now what is testimony?

Ru 4:7 Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbour: and this was a testimony (tawdah) "witness" in Israel

Boaz takes off his shoe and passes it before the elders as a "witness" of a purchase transaction, concerning Ruth.

Isa 8:16 Bind up the testimony (tawdah) "witness", seal the law (towrah) "teachngs" among my disciples.

Notice the witness of the teachings of Jesus, is how the teachings impact upon the children who are taught by the teachings correctly, Jesus' disciples.

Isa 8:20 To the law (towrah) "teachings" and to the testimony (tawdah) "witness" : if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

So we judge our understanding of the truth by how we read the teachings of Jesus, and the witness of Jesus' disciples to His teachings. Shalom
