Q10: Ch:16. . In His Temple.. Show the Desire of Ages is inspired..
(1) Subdue = Surrender.. Only Christ can cleanse the soul temple. But He will not force an entrance. He comes not into the heartas to the temple of old; but He says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him." Rev. 3:20. He will come, not for one day merely; for Hesays, " I will dwell in them, and walk in them; . . . and they shall Page 162 be My people." " He will subdue our iniquities; and Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of thesea." 2 Cor. 6:16; Micah 7:19. His presence will cleanse and sanctify the soul, so that it may be a holytemple unto the Lord, and "an habitation of God through the Spirit." Eph. 2:21, 22. Ro 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted "subdued" ( in Greek hupotasso 5293) (in Hebrew is kabash 3533) themselves unto the righteousness of God. Jesus dwells in us and walks in us, this is what "subdue" means, the "pressed palms" (walk over) "our home pressed". Ellen white terms in some places "subdue" with an English term "surrender", which really means we allow GOD to subdue our fallen flesh and take control of us... We do this only because we have faith, GOD can do it, and because we "Trust" GOD.. The Hebrew word "chacah" means to "Trust" ...we are to only "trust" in GOD, but "cling" or have "confidence" in man... De 32:37 And he shall say, Where are their gods (elohiym) "heavenly powers", their rock (tsuwr) "Father bedrock" in whom they trusted, We must trust our heavenly Father, the bedrock of our salvation. Jg 9:15 And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow Christian trees ask the LORD of trees to be their king, and to trust in His shadow...no mention of Jesus' shadow being of no value.. 2Sa 22:3 The God (Elohiym) "heavenly power" of my rock (tsuwr)"Father bedrock"; in him will I trust The Father is the bedrock of our salvation. Ps 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: The Father covers us with His feathers, under His wings, we trust, which is actually the Holy Spirit's wings, but who carries the shadow of the Father to us..being under a shadow is a good thing, it's cooler and less intense experience of GOD over us.. Ps 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to "cling" to a man. Trust Jesus rather than man.. Isa 30:2 That walk to go down into Egypt,... trust in the shadow of Egypt! Do not trust the shadows of mankind and their technology. Many theories of faith make "surrender" into some extreme salvational step real Christians do and fake Christians don't. But there is no such salvational step to Jesus like this found in the Holy Writings. See Salvational Steps to Jesus We ar e to allow Jesus to subdue us, it is His work to walk over us, we only have to allow Him to come in and do as He pleases... So the act of a willing heart, ensures the subdue process Jesus does in us actually takes place every day. Jas 4:7 Submit "subdue" yourselves therefore to God. Many people say once we come to Jesus, since His work on the Cross abolished many things, we no longer need to dwell under the shadow of Jesus? Does the NT really support this idea? There are only 7 verses that speak of shadows in the NT, and none really speak about shadows being of no value. (2) Jesus our help-mate.. When the last spark of hope seemed to bedead, Christ had healed them. The burden was so heavy, one said; but I have found a helper. He is theChrist of God, and I will devote my life to His service. Parents said to their children, He has saved yourlife; lift up your voice and praise Him. Job 6:13 [Is] not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me? Notice there is a eternal Being, a help mate, living in all humans, the Holy Spirit, who is a channel of Jesus and the Father, who are both help-mates for humans.. Ps 38:22 Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation. The word "salvation" here is related to "yeshua", Jesus functional name in the OT is "salvation", the same functional name in the NT. Jesus is also our helper. Ps 63:7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. Notice Jesus is our helper under the shadow of His wings... In the Eden garden, the help-mate for Adam was Eve, came from Adam's flesh, expressing femaleness love, was a genetic clone, but expressed love differently to the gender male, making her help different as a personality. We should also find evidence that the Father and the Son, both also express femaleness love, as well as maleness love; because they are both help-mates for us humans. See Godhead expressing femaleness love (3) When Jesus is rejected.. Since the whole ritual economy was symbolical of Christ, it had no value apart from Him. When the Jews sealed their rejection of Christ by delivering Him to death, they rejected all that gave significanceto the temple and its services. Its sacredness had departed. It was doomed to destruction. From that daysacrificial offerings and the service connected with them were meaningless. Like the offering of Cain, they did not express faith in the Saviour. In putting Christ to death, the Jews virtually destroyed theirtemple. When Christ was crucified, the inner veil of the temple was rent in twain from top to bottom, signifying that the great final sacrifice had been made, and that the system of sacrificial offerings wasforever at an end. When you reject Christ, you are also rejecting the memorial feasts that celebrate His work in us.And conversely, if you reject the love-feasts of Jesus you are also rejecting Jesus. This is what the SOP is saying. We are to catch the spiritual significance of the temple services. (4) A Sanctuary built by the Branch.. i> Men reared the Jewish tabernacle; men builded the Jewish temple; but the sanctuary above, of which theearthly was a type, was built by no human architect. "Behold the Man whose name is The Branch; . . .He shall build the temple of the Lord; and He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon Histhrone; and He shall be a priest upon His throne." Zech. 6:12, 13. Zec 6:12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: Why is Jesus called "The Branch"? Because Hebrew writes names as functions, not descriptions... Jesus grows as a simile how plants grow, and we Christians also grow as trees grow spiritually... We need to learn and appreciate the poetry pictures of gardening so we can appreciate the LORD of TREES. Eze 15:6 Therefore thus saith the Lord (adonay) GOD (Jesus-YHWH) ; As the vine (gephen) "grape vine" tree (ets) "tree" among the trees of the forest, Jesus is a simile of the grape vine tree...do not reject Him and your abiding in Him, in His ongoing sap that grants you ongoing living.. Ge 40:10 And in the vine were three branches: Notice the grape wine comes with three branches of GOD.. Jg 9:12 Then said the trees unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us. Christian trees invite Jesus, the grape vine to rule as King and Priest over the children of the forest. Job 15:33 He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive. Jesus cast off anyone from Himself as the Grape-vine, who Jesus does not want growing in His power, hypocrites, those who allow their propensities to bring forth deceit and wickedness. Notice Jesus the Branch (the Grape Vine) shakes off any who do not enjoy His sap, and reject Him as a Source of ongoing living. This poetry picture is mentioned in Job and mentioned in Romans. The same salvation concept continues the same way throughout, because Jesus is the author of the former teachings (OT) and the latter teachings (NT). For more, See epi-genetics and propensities Ps 80:14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; Notice Jesus the Branch is referenced as the "vine" the "Son" and the "Son of Man", all literal aspects of an eternal Son on the right hand of His Father, sent as a vine to earth with salvation flowing through Him for us on the earth... but the Jews received Him not, not even in the time of Moses and David... Ps 128:3 Thy wife ... shall be as a fruitful vine A woman is a simile of the wine, and a simile of Jesus... indeed the verses after speak of Jesus blessing Zion, who enjoy the femaleness love of Jesus, the love that is fellowship love, as a gender female was designed in the Garden of Eden to show mankind. The vine is also a simile of us growing Jesus in us for others to enjoy...sadly many verses speak of lamentations of us as an empty vine with no fruit. Study the verses for yourselves, all of them.
