Did the masters kill themselves as their King did?

Here the term is used as a verb, implying other masters mastered unto a king or ruler..

Why does KJV assume the evil men pursue birds with a net ? They would pursue other men or masters with a net, as if catching birds or other animals... like a evil game of hunt...
(50) Pr 1:19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain ; which taketh away the life of the owners (baal) thereof.
... the life of the masters (baal) thereof.
