Steps To Christ, The Work and the Life, witnessing to others

Q:9 The Steps of Christ

Show 'Steps To Christ' is inspired.

Chapter 9: The Work and the Life.

Ellen p.78" When the love of Christ is enshrined in the heart, like sweet fragrance it cannot be hidden. Its holy influence will be felt by all with whom we come in contact. The spirit of Christ in the heart is like a spring in the desert, flowing to refresh all and making those who are ready to perish, eager to drink of the water of life.

Love to Jesus will be manifested in a desire to work as He worked for the blessing and uplifting of humanity. It will lead to love, tenderness, and sympathy toward all the creatures of our heavenly Father’s care.

When you support Jesus with a flow of His power, and Jesus does support you back, the love of providing and responding begins to reach out into the wider community, for that is what mature love does. It's a light shinning in a dark place.

Ellen p.79" But in His infinite love He chose to make us co-workers with Himself, with Christ and the angels, that we might share the blessing, the joy, the spiritual uplifting, which results from this unselfish ministry.

Many churches see religion as some belief process, with little for humans to do... But in reality, we have to support Jesus daily, respond to His providing, but this begins with hope, for the unseen powers that hasn't flowed yet. Many take this to mean faith is blind, so they walk in Jesus doing good in their own humans powers of self, without supporting Jesus or His words of promised power. But that is not what faith means. Faith is a support concept. You must work together with Jesus. You are a co-worker with Him in relationship.

For more see Relationship means co-working

Ellen p.80" If you will go to work as Christ designs that His disciples shall, and win souls for Him, you will feel the need of a deeper experience and a greater knowledge in divine things, and will hunger and thirst after righteousness. You will plead with God, and your faith will be strengthened, and your soul will drink deeper drafts at the well of salvation. Encountering opposition and trials will drive you to the Bible and prayer. You will grow in grace and the knowledge of Christ, and will develop a rich experience.

When you support Jesus, and Jesus supports you back, you become as Jesus was on earth, a light for others.

You will not remain a 'babe in Jesus' drinking milky doses of His teachings, you will grow up in Jesus more and more, wanting a deeper flow of His Power through you, doing his wonders of beauty in others. This becomes the love demonstrated in others as public miracles of His beauty or grace.

Ellen p.81" Those who endeavor to maintain Christian life by passively accepting the blessings that come through the means of grace, and doing nothing for Christ, are simply trying to live by eating without working. And in the spiritual as in the natural world, this always results in degeneration and decay. A man who would refuse to exercise his limbs would soon lose all power to use them. Thus the Christian who will not exercise his God-given powers not only fails to grow up into Christ, but he loses the strength that he already had.

Once all the training is nearly completed, a desire arises to go and test your supporting of Jesus on others who also need to support Jesus in order for His wonders of beauty to flow through them, as it does through you. Thus the training stops and the witnessing of Jesus begins, privately at first in you, and later pubically through you for others.

Ellen p.81"If the followers of Christ were awake to duty, there would be thousands where there is one today proclaiming the gospel in heathen lands.

What does Jesus' version in 'Steps to Christ' say about 'The Work and the Life'?

Yashua 9:1 Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.

2 The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.

3 They shall not dwell in the LORD'S land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, ...

The danger in witnessing is when we go to the world as a Church, the Church becomes like the world...we become whoring... trapped in all kinds of things, such as technology snares.

Yashua 9:5 What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?

Doing the feasts unto Jesus, does not help them appreciate Jesus flowing in them at all, the Church does human activities without appreciating what those things mean in the inner life with Jesus.

Yashua 9:7 The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.

The Church is so 'dumbed down' the spiritual mad is considered mad...The concept of visitation is not useful to any who come to Church, so they stay away instead..

Verse 8 is especially interesting:-

Yashua 9:8 The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God. (KJV)

Reader can't see it?

Yashua 9:8 .. the Pastor is a technogology-snare of entangled on His road...

In other words our Pastors are trapped by technology snares they are entangled and useless leading the Church...

Yashua 9:10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.

The Church at first is like grapes, but than went following their own Baal master powers of human works that mean nothing to GOD.

Yashua 9:14 Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb (rechem) "compassion-centre" and dry breasts (shad).

The church experiences a miscarrying compassion-centre of recreating new characters, and dry breasts, so the flow of teachings no longer empowers them.

This is describing a dyfunction use of the Holy Spirit. And is also written differently by Jesus in His latter rain teachings:

Mt 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

A Church wanting to experience Jesus, stops supporting Jesus, falls asleep, and the functional work of renewing the breath of salvation in them via the compassion centre miscarries, and the flow of milk from the teachings dries up.The becomes a boring place, no power, no miracles, no teaching enflame people with fire, no Holy Spirit. No witnesing.

Yashua 9:16 Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit:...

The Church is smitten, their root dries up, they bear no fruit, the Holy Spirit leaves them, they give nothing, take noting and become so rich in need of nothing, Jesus will spue them from is mouth.

Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Notice again Jesus describes our 'Work and Life in Jesus' in negative terms, so we can catch what we are doing wrong.

What is the Church doing wrong?

  • (1) 'becoming worldly' - verse 1
  • (2) 'wrong feasts' verse 5
  • (3 ) 'inspired ones are foolish' -verse 7
  • (4) 'trapped in technology snares' verse 8
  • (5) 'Pastors entangled' - verse 8
  • (6) 'do Baal and self' - verse 10
  • (7) 'Holy Spirit dies up' - verse 14

Our Churches have become worldly, they abolish Jesus feasts and do social feasts instead, they can't stand inspired ones, they are mad, the Church is trapped in muscial technology snares, the Pastors are entangled, the people do their own things following their Baal master powers of human works, and sadly the Holy Spirit has dried up, no milk for Jesus word does anything for them.

Notice Ellen White's version of 'Steps to Christ' work and life in Him, is written is a more positive manner, but both speak of the same science of salvation, just differently.

Ellen p.83" You are not to wait for great occasions or to expect extraordinary abilities before you go to work for God. You need not have a thought of what the world will think of you. If your daily life is a testimony to the purity and sincerity of your faith, and others are convinced that you desire to benefit them, your efforts will not be wholly lost.

You can be useful to GOD at any stage of training and growth. Fruit is valuable from a lowly plant or a huge tree, all hve within the life germinating principle of the Divine Family Power of living. Thus any support you do is valued by GOD, where you work and what you do.
