Here is a classic story of Baal worship. All Israel assembly on Mount
Carmel. Baal was a god of rain, thunder and lightning, so it was fitting for
Elijah to ask the strongest god to send lightning down to burn the bullock
on the altar. No fire matches were to be supplied. Satan would gladly
have fallen like lightning, but God did not allow this, because God was
challenged as to who is the strongest authority on planet earth, and against
GOD, Satan doesn't stand a chance.
There will come a time when Satan will bring down fire from heaven
in front of TV cameras, onto the earth, but Jesus will not care then,
for He has His own remnant, and allows the multitude to be deceived
for mercy and probation will be closed at the end of time.
Notice all the efforts of the Baal priests, the jumping, screaming, praying
cutting themselves until blood flowed from their backs, all this
"home secured authority" came to nothing.
