The Sinner makes shadows.

The sinner makes shadows

Strong's 6738. "tsel" Ancient Hebrew pictograph "The travelling authority".

If you ever watched a sundial, the shadow is indeed a travelling authority.

Ge 19:8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

Here we see the term "shadow under my roof" as the authority and protection of the "man in his own home".

A shadow is made from a light source, which is a form of authority. As the light comes around the other authority which is you, the light and your own authority, make as an image, a boundary of less light, called a shadow edge. This shadow which is made from from the relationship of two strong authorities, you and a larger authority such as sunlight, together make this boundary of travelling authority called a shadow.

Hence shadows are symbols of your own travelling authority, cast on the ground for all to observe and see.

Jg 9:12 Then said the trees unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us.

  • 13 And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?
  • 14 Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us.
  • 15 And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.

Here we see trees and their shadows as symbols of a person's travelling authority.

1Ch 29:15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.

If fact as believers in Jesus, we are on a journey through space, under the shadow of the travelling authority of earth, which moves under the hand of GOD.

Ps 17:8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

How comforting to be under the travelling authority of GOD. How He guards our lives, our own travelling authority, as the apple of His eye.

Ps 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Here is a beautiful Bible poetry parallel. The Father is the most High, and being under the travelling authority of the Shadday is a simile of also being under the travelling authority of the Father. They function like heavenly parents.

Ec 6:12 For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?

Now we begin to see a darker side of shadows, that when one's travelling authority is so far from a relationship with GOD, we are missing any sense of GOD's power in our life.

Isa 30:2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

How sad it is to love the travelling authority of the world, rather than the travelling authority of GOD...

Ho 4:13 They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.

Some of us love the travelling authority of others so much, we are prepared to commit adultery and whoredom with them!

Lu 1:79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Now following our travelling authorities to its ultimate conclusion, we enter the shadow of death, for we sit and darkness and now our shadow is a symbol of sinning. A record of what our travelling authority has done, or is currently doing. (The verse above follows the same Hebrew word in the Greek word, its equivalent: 'skia'.)

Ac 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

Instead our travelling authority is meant to be a symbol of Jesus power flowing through us, that even a shadow was enough to bring healing to those seeking a little of it's power.

Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

So why are we living so little in Jesus power, when all that travelling authority is willing to make a comforting shadow over us? Imagine tolerating the full Sonlight of Jesus, why even a shadow is enough travelling authority for us.

So my friend, how is your travelling authority? Do you seek to increase the relationship between yourself and your strong authority? Or are you walking away from Jesus and making your shadows so dark that they become a shadow of death, because of your missing the power of Jesus in your life. One who is missing God's power is sinning.

    How is your travelling authority?

To increase Jesus claim on us, we need to walk in a closer relationship with Him. If we walk too far away from Jesus, our own travelling authority will make a condition called the shadow of eternal death, for we are found missing Jesus power in our lives.

Where you might say is the cross over point? How much grace do I receive from Jesus before I feel no longer worthy of His Name? There is a mathematical answer for this place in your Saviour and your relationship, its called the focal point in Science. But such a place is different between individuals and Jesus, and it also depends upon how close and far you walk in a relationship to Jesus. There is no sinning too big He cannot forgive, and no distance where you can walk away totally from Jesus light. Jesus light seeks to gladden your dark recesses of your mind. He is the greatest shadow to be under. Under His wings you can be safely abiding. Shalom
