Q7: Step 2: What do shoots do? Hosea 14:6 His branches shall spread....
Once the roots get strong enough to fight the darkness, eating the Weathered Words of Life, a shoot emerges above the ground into the lightness, and thus begins the branches and coverings of the tree, a symbol of righteousness, the promise of power flowing within and the future expectancy of fruit.
This is a two stage salvation system, the roots eat the weathered words and drink the waters of life, while the shoots breathe in the prayers of air and face the Sonlight ready for the mystery of quickening, in which the tree makes food that refreshes itself with ongoing life. The roots overcome darkness and sinning by eating weathered words and drinking holy waters, while the shoots overcome the fierce battle with the Sonlight of tribulation and exhaustion in the dazzling Light, with prayer, transpiration cooling of the Holy Water and with shade, the canopy covering made by the tree as a result of co-working with the Lord of Trees.
There are thus two COMFORTERS to aid in this salvation system of trees, the Holy Spirit helps the trees with root development and overcoming all forms of sinning; and Jesus Christ who help us with prayers and the light of the Father, preparing the tree to endure the physical presence of the Father's world for eternity. To achieve this end, all principles of tree growth must be completed in the trees life cycle so the tree is able to make perfect fruit, pleasing to the Son and the Father.
Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the (Holy) Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Notice the Holy Spirit and you know each other more because you have accepted the breath of salvation provided by Jesus. Despite all the pleading by the Holy Spirit with wicked people, the wicked are not saved until they accept the breath of salvation that comes as a gift from only Jesus.
Ac 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV)
This continued work of growing in Jesus is called sanctification by scholars. We become co-workers with Jesus, and as branches we receive the good things of Jesus flowing through us from Him. This power is flowing through us as long as we abide in Him.
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Beware of becoming a self-powered Christian in Christ, reading the Bible and doing self-righteous acts using human power only. Such people are backsliding even while they go to Church.
Ho 11:6 And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels. 7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
Jesus will allow your branches to be pruned so they are more productive, or be burned or experience tribulation or vernalization so fruit will come, but notice from the verse before, much or our tribulation comes from our own backsliding, and the sword of the Holy Spirit through the Bible that wants to weather us into more humble agents for Jesus flowing through us...our pride becomes a stmbling block to GOD...beware of your own counsels when you pray to the Father Most High, that you learn to exalt God rather than self.
Hosea 11:8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim?....Hosea 11:9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man;....
Jesus does not give up easily on us....even though as branches we are wild, but He died for us while we were yet sinners...we are bought with a price...great is His faithfulness...
Romans 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
1Corithinians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.(KJV)
Lamentations 3:23 They are re-newed every morning: great is thy faithfulness.(KJV)
From the saddest Book in the Bible comes the most wonderful of Seed Promises of Jesus, our mercy like Sonlight is renewed every morning, GREAT is Jesus' faithfulness. As a branch with His power flowing through you turn your leaf to Him and bask in His awesome power until ye wilt under the experience despite prayer and cooling by the Holy Spirit. Shalom
