Interesting, Man has no power over the life force (spirit) inside us,
nor control of the Holy Spirit inside of us...
In Hebrew the word spirit means wind.
There is two kinds of wind referenced by ruwach....
(1) the wind of man, is the character of man (administrated by the Holy Spirit)
(2) the wind of GOD, is the character of GOD (administrated by the Holy Spirit)
Notice the word is not polysemy, but similar meanings
depending upon the viewpoint of the word in context.
Here both views are in the one verse.
Man has no power over his character to retain his character.
This suggests to me, that character is something that comes from
GOD, and if never ours to begin with. Why we can choose which
character traits we wish to develop, by our differences in talents
and skills and freedom of choice, but the divinity part of our
character comes from the Holy Spirit. Moral values, therefore;
are not of human origin.
So much for Satan's humanism religion that man has basic
goodness inside himself, and that somehow the idea of sharing
is an evolutionary trait to survival, is lot of bunkum. According
to this Bible passage here, character is of divine origin.
We are born with divine moral character traits, but these
things are not of human, or inherited origin, they are traits of GOD
administrated by the Holy Spirit and increased when Man allows
GOD's power to increase his or her character as they freely choose
to have a quickening process in their life.
( 20 ) Isa 58:4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate , and to smite with the fist of wickedness "resha`": ye shall not fast as ye do this day , to make your voice to be heard on high . {ye shall...: or, ye fast not as this day}
.. with the fist of wicked ..
