( 11 ) Ex 32:34 Therefore now go , lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin "chatta'ah" upon them.
.. I visit I will visit their sin-offering ..
Notice the sin-offering is not a simple process of praying to Jesus and expecting
forgiveness in a simple gesture of mercy. The Father sends His Son Jesus as a
messenger to visit the believers to visit the sin-offering. In the Day of Atonement
Scripture gives detailed clues as to the complexity of the sin-offering process.
Sinning was divided into two groups, some sinning was atoned by the
sin-bearer, and some sinning carried by Satan who caused the sinning in the
sinner.
Le 16:9 And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
10 But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.
When Jesus visits the believers after they make a sin-offering some are saved and others die from plagues as a result of their sinning. Why do many die if the
sin-offering was made on their behalf ? Below is the answer as a spectrum for
all types of believers :-
(1) Believers are forgiven but consequences follow despite forgiveness, and
believers reap what they sow.
(2) Believers are not necessarily saved, both wheat and tares have religious
piety, but only those in Jesus are saved while these in Baal are not. The
believers who follow Baal implicitly are removed by tribulation plagues.
(3) Believers are forgiven but even those saved can experience tribulation
plagues as happened to Job for example.
So when Jesus visits the sinner to see what you have done with His
sin-offering for sins on your behalf, judgement will condemn you or
afflict (humble) you depending upon how you live with the gift of the sin-offering.
( 12 ) Ex 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands , forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin "chatta'ah", and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children , and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
.. and transgression and sin-offering ..
Notice GOD is a GOD of mercy, forgiveness and grace clearing the guilt, transgressions and sin-offerings upon His children.
( 13 ) Ex 34:9 And he said , If now I have found grace in thy sight , O Lord , let my Lord , I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people ; and pardon our iniquity and our sin "chatta'ah", and take us for thine inheritance .
.. our iniquity and our sin-offering .. Note : use of grace for sin-offering
( 14 ) Le 4:3 If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people ; then let him bring for his sin "chatta'ah", which he hath sinned , a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering "chatta'ah".
.. .. then let him bring for his sin-offering ..the LORD for a sin sin-offering ..
( 15 ) Le 4:8 And he shall take off from it all the fat of the bullock for the sin offering "chatta'ah"; the fat that covereth the inwards , and all the fat that is upon the inwards ,
.. the bullock for the sin sin-offering ..
The high priest made atonement for his own sinning using a bull. The Hebrew
word for sin-offering "chataah" has a "bull letter" or "aleph" in the word.
The bullock offering acknowledges the strong authority of Jesus to remove
sinning from the believer.
( 16 ) Le 4:14 When the sin "chatta'ah", which they have sinned against it, is known , then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin "chatta'ah", and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation .
.. .. sin-offering ..a young bullock for the sin-offering ..
( 17 ) Le 4:20 And he shall do with the bullock as he did with the bullock for a sin offering "chatta'ah", so shall he do with this: and the priest shall make an atonement for them, and it shall be forgiven them.
.. the bullock for a sin-offering ..
( 18 ) Le 4:21 And he shall carry forth the bullock without the camp , and burn him as he burned the first bullock : it is a sin offering "chatta'ah" for the congregation .
.. bullock it is a sin-offering ..
( 19 ) Le 4:23 Or if his sin "chatta'ah", wherein he hath sinned , come to his knowledge ; he shall bring his offering , a kid of the goats , a male without blemish :
.. sin-offering ..
( 20 ) Le 4:24 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat , and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the LORD : it is a sin offering "chatta'ah".
.. LORD it is a sin-offering ..
Then the priest offering goats for the sinning of the people..
