( 190 ) 2Ch 29:24 And the priests killed them, and they made reconciliation "chata'" with their blood upon the altar , to make an atonement for all Israel : for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel .
..And the priests them, and they made sins with the blood upon the altar ..
Here is a strange context. How can priests by killing animals by sinning,
become a sin-offering for the altar ? The priests are using goats for a
sin-offering, but when they kill the goats, the sinning of the goat blood
is placed upon the altar as a sin-offering....Does this make sense ?
Did the goats do any sinning ? No, goats can't be morally capable
of sinning, even though some animals are capable of doing
dysfunctional things, the "wind" or character of animals is not
recorded against them.
Ec 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward,
and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
Hence only for mankind, does the wind of man, our character go upward.
This means it is recorded for records by the Holy Spirit.
But when the blood of innocent animals is prepared for a sin-offering,
the blood is the blood of sinning. Interesting. Somehow some act made
the blood sinful. The verse before tells us the answer..
2Ch 29:23 And they brought forth the he goats Innocent animals brought
for the sin offering, for a sin-offering 'chataah'
before the king and the congregation; before all the people and king
and they laid their hands upon them: the priests confessed sinning on the goats
24 And the priests killed them, and the priests killed the goats
and they made sinning with their blood and with the sinful blood of the goats
upon the altar, upon the altar
to make an atonement for all Israel: atonement was made for all Israel
for the king commanded that the burnt offering the voluntary offering
and the sin offering and the sin-offering 'chataah'
should be made for all Israel for all Israel.
Now the context makes sense...but it tells us more about
sinning and the sin-offering aspects of these Hebrew words.
