( 121 ) De 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity , or for any sin , in any sin "chata'" that he sinneth "chata'": at the mouth of two witnesses , or at the mouth of three witnesses , shall the matter be established .
.. .. or for any sin in any sin .. in any sin that he sin ..
( 122 ) De 20:18 That they teach you not to do after all their abominations , which they have done unto their gods ; so should ye sin "chata'" against the LORD your God .
.. their gods so should ye sin ..
( 123 ) De 24:4 Her former husband , which sent her away , may not take her again to be his wife , after that she is defiled ; for that is abomination before the LORD : and thou shalt not cause the land to sin "chata'", which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance .
.. and thou shalt not cause the land to sin ..
( 124 ) Jos 7:11 Israel hath sinned "chata'", and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing , and have also stolen , and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff .
.. sin ..
( 125 ) Jos 7:20 And Achan answered Joshua , and said , Indeed I have sinned "chata'" against the LORD God of Israel , and thus and thus have I done :
.. and said Indeed I have sin ..
Here is a clue that sinning prevents power flow from Jesus to the sinner.
Achan made a private sin, but it impacted the public people. Jericho
fell because power flowed through Joshua, a type of Jesus, and the
relationship was completely connected. When Achan sinned the
connection of power stopped and people died fighting. This story
gives major support that the purpose of removing sinning from
our lives is not the sinning itself is the problem, but the sinning
spoils the flow of power Jesus our Saviour gives us in a
relationship to Him .
These OT people took the wrong stand on sinning. They lamented
"we have sinned"... Instead they should have said " we have
broken a flow of power with our GOD" and lament this...
The reason why they never did this, is because if you
don't have power that is divine to begin with you tend to
focus on what you can see and have which is the human..
So sinning became an human object... rather than what it
should be, a broken relationship to GOD..
Satan loves this concept of sinning, because it is based on human
achievement. The rules of do's and don'ts is Baal religion: "The home
secure authority". The home is your own soul. The secure is your
right to do as you please. The authority is your human efforts that flows
to nothing. Baal worship is everywhere, it's called legalism. Human
effort that flows to nothing.
Our focus should be on sinning as a relationship of power not an
object of rules, do this, don't do that. Than we see sinning as a broken
flow of power to Jesus and places the focus where it should be on
Jesus, our superior and me the inferior, who is a sinner.
Thus the purpose of removing our sinning is all about the restoration
of Jesus' power flowing through us. Shalom
( 126 ) Jg 10:10 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD , saying , We have sinned "chata'" against thee, both because we have forsaken our God , and also served Baalim .
.. the LORD saying We have sinned ..
( 127 ) Jg 10:15 And the children of Israel said unto the LORD , We have sinned "chata'": do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day . {seemeth...: Heb. is good in thine eyes}
.. unto the LORD We have sin ..
( 128 ) Jg 11:27 Wherefore I have not sinned "chata'" against thee, but thou doest me wrong to war against me: the LORD the Judge be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon .
.. sin ..
( 129 ) Jg 20:16 Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded ; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss "chata'".
.. at an hair breadth, and not sin ..
Here is the Bible definition for "chata" the missing of the mark..
Thus "chata" is about "missing". We are missing the "Strong" "basket of good
things" "outside". Have a look at the word "basket" in Hebrew.
Here is the Hebrew word "towb" "good" or "functional"
It means the "basket covering of things""secure" in the "home".
Thus the idea of "missing" with "chata" is we are missing out from the good
things of Jesus. His power, His love, His home, His companionship and his
relationship. This is what "chata" means. A relationship good things is what
we are missing out on. Not objects of rules broken, here and there. Such
a narrow definition is not defined in Scripture at all.
Thus "chata" is a relationship principle, meaning the good things we
are missing by our sinning.
( 130 ) 1Sa 2:25 If one man sin "chata'" against another , the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin "chata'" against the LORD , who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father , because the LORD would slay them.
.. .. sin ..judge him: but if a man sin ..
