( 71 ) Ex 32:30 And it came to pass on the morrow , that Moses said unto the people , Ye have sinned "chata'" a great sin : and now I will go up unto the LORD ; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin .
.. said unto the people Ye have sinned a great sin-offering ..
I shall make an atonement for your sinning .
Notice here are two Hebrew words for sin closely in one verse
with the concept of making an atonement, which has to mean the other
meaning of sin, the sin-offering, or transference of sinning upon a sin-bearer
who would eventually be Jesus, the only sin-bearer qualified to do this.
"chata"
"chataah"
Notice the difference in these two words, "chata" and "chataah".
The "chataah" word has a "person" letter, meaning Behold the person !
It is not rocket Science to know what "chataah" means then.
Behold ! The sin bearer who comes to remove our sinning !
Is there any verse that suggests this phrase ?
Well this OT verse is talking about atonement, and uses the "chataah" word,
In the NT we have this verse...
Joh 1:29 .... Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
"ide" the Lamb "amnos" of God "theos", which "ho" taketh away "airo" the sin "hamartia" of the world "kosmos"
"Hen" "Behold"
"tsaphah" "Behold"
There are two similar Hebrew words that were translated into the Greek "ide", and possibly "Hen" was chosen
Both Hebrew words have a "Person" Behold pictograph in them.
So this verse in John, very much says that Greek "hamartia" is the Hebrew
"chataah" for Behold ! The sin Bearer, Jesus.
Hence "chataah" really means "sin-offering". I chose this word as an English
equivalent because it carries a chata word in English, "sin" and has additional
meaning, the "sin-offering" Hence the word "chataah" has a broad meaning
of meaning ones "errors" from sinning, but more importantly the transference
of sinning unto a sin bearer, the Lamb of God, namely Jesus.
( 72 ) Ex 32:31 And Moses returned unto the LORD , and said , Oh , this people have sinned "chata'" a great sin , and have made them gods of gold .
.. Oh this people have sin ..
Notice the two word read strangely in some contexts, but this is because
Hebrew is structured differently from English.
....Oh, this people have sinned "chata" a great sin-offering "chataah"....
A strange context, why did the people by sinning greatly, also make a great
sin-offering ? It makes sense in a way, because Jesus said, he who is forgiven
little, loves little but he who is forgiven much loves much.
Lu 7:47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sin-offering "chataah",
which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much:
but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
Notice the change in the Greek to bring into the sin-offering idea.
Mary had done much sinning in the past, thus her sin-offering required
for her sinning would be much, while Simon's sin-offering was little,
hence he loved Jesus less. I liked the way Jesus explains this, but its
also a contradiction. What really happens is Mary feels her sinning
is much, and needs a bigger sin-offering than Simon, who has little
gratitude for his forgiveness, of what he perceives as little sinning
compared to Mary, hence you see his self exaltation here ? Jesus
was able to explain things as a child, while at the time time
making a truth statement.
If you start seeing chataah, and hamartia as a sin-offering,
the NT scriptures change in application of meaning....Shalom
( 73 ) Ex 32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses , Whosoever hath sinned "chata'" against me, him will I blot out of my book .
.. unto Moses Whosoever hath sin ..
( 74 ) Le 4:2 Speak unto the children of Israel , saying , If a soul shall sin "chata'" through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done , and shall do against any of them :
.. saying If a soul shall sin in ignorance..
So far we have not seen a verse to explain the application of sinning
and why GOD pays particular attention to sinning...
Even ignorant sinning is important to GOD...Why ?
( 75 ) Le 4:3 If the priest that is anointed do sin "chata'" according to the sin of the people ; then let him bring for his sin , which he hath sinned "chata'", a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering .
.. .. priest that is anointed do sin ..his sin which he hath sin ..
( 76 ) Le 4:14 When the sin , which they have sinned "chata'" against it, is known , then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin , and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation .
.. When the sin which they have sin ..
( 77 ) Le 4:22  When a ruler hath sinned "chata'", and done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD his God concerning things which should not be done , and is guilty ;
.. sin ..
( 78 ) Le 4:23 Or if his sin , wherein he hath sinned "chata'", come to his knowledge ; he shall bring his offering , a kid of the goats , a male without blemish :
.. Or if his sin wherein he hath sin ..
( 79 ) Le 4:27  And if any one of the common people sin "chata'" through ignorance , while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done , and be guilty ; {any one: Heb. any soul} {common...: Heb. people of the land}
.. of the common people sin ..
( 80 ) Le 4:28 Or if his sin , which he hath sinned "chata'", come to his knowledge : then he shall bring his offering , a kid of the goats , a female without blemish , for his sin which he hath sinned "chata'".
.. .. Or if his sin which he hath sin ..for his sin which he hath sin ..
