Money peter did not have, but He did have Jesus' power..
( 359 ) Ac 7:16 And were carried over into Sychem , and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money "keceph" of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem .
.. for a sum of silver ..
( 360 ) Ac 8:20 But Peter said unto him , Thy money "keceph" perish with thee , because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money .
.. unto him Thy silver ..
You cannot purchase God's grace, power or love with money
God's mercy cannot be purchased with human symbols of human power..
Money can become a symbol of gratitude for salvation. Money can be
used to express gratitude for forgiveness to ignorant sinning in your life.
But money itself does not guarantee salvation...only if you remain
faithful to Jesus does, bearing His fruit.
This is difficult to explain, when one is loving Jesus and His
salvation out of obligation with money for penitence...
Contrast with the one loving Jesus because the person loves
Jesus, out of humble gratitude for Jesus power flowing through Him.
I ask Jesus all the time in my conscience, how can I know
you are with me ? By your fruit ye shall know Me, He says.
You see if your money you pay to Jesus is not reducing your
sinning or making you feel more humble, mournful and meek;
than you can be sure that such religion is Baal, a heart effort
that flows to nothing. Jesus relgion is the heart effort of Jesus
flowing through you, giving you all the good things of Jesus
to you. Can you see the difference here. One is "self powered"
the other is "Jesus powered". Shalom
