Lot and man made doors of kindness

( 1 ) Ge 19:19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight , and thou hast magnified thy mercy "checed", which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life ; and I cannot escape to the mountain , lest some evil take me, and I die :

.. and thou hast magnified thy kindness .. The concept first comes to us from Lot wanting to flee to a door of man made protection, rather than God's door of protection the cave in the mountain. Notice Lot was used to man made doors of kindness ? if you can call man made doors kind.... Remember Sodom he was told to run from ? So He grumbles over God's door of kindness and wants to go to Zoar, a human door of kindness....Notice how kind GOD is even to humans that do not do as He requires...

( 2 ) Ge 20:13 And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father's house , that I said unto her, This is thy kindness "checed" which thou shalt shew unto me; at every place whither we shall come , say of me, He is my brother .

( 3 ) Ge 21:23 Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son , nor with my son's son : but according to the kindness "checed" that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned . {that thou...: Heb. if thou shalt lie unto me}

( 4 ) Ge 24:12 And he said , O LORD God of my master Abraham , I pray thee, send me good speed this day , and shew kindness "checed" unto my master Abraham .

.. this day and shew kindness ..

( 5 ) Ge 24:14 And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say , Let down thy pitcher , I pray thee, that I may drink ; and she shall say , Drink , and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac ; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness "checed" unto my master .

.. that thou hast shewed kindness .. Notice the test was for a woman to open her door and offer shelter, board and food to a stranger....a test of kindness..

( 6 ) Ge 24:27 And he said , Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham , who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy "checed" and his truth : I being in the way , the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren .

.. my master of his kindness ..

( 7 ) Ge 24:49 And now if ye will deal kindly "checed" and truly with my master , tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand , or to the left .

( 8 ) Ge 32:10 I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies "checed", and of all the truth , which thou hast shewed unto thy servant ; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan ; and now I am become two bands . {I am not...: Heb. I am less than all}

.. not worthy of the least of all the kindness ..

( 9 ) Ge 39:21 But the LORD was with Joseph , and shewed him mercy "checed", and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison . {shewed...: Heb. extended kindness unto him}

( 10 ) Ge 40:14 But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness "checed", I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh , and bring me out of this house : {think...: Heb. remember me with thee}
