.. to preach the gospel to the humble ..

Luke quote directly from Isaiah 61:1 but the quote is the wrong Hebrew word. It has a single typo. The word in Isaiah 61:1 is

Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek "anav"; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

Even King James translates the Hebrew correctly....!

but whoever wrote the book of Luke made a typo.... It says this :-

Lu 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor "ptochos" (aniy) ; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,

Again this shows us that whoever wrote the manuscript "Luke" into Greek was in fact a translated copy and not the original language. A Hebrew scribe would not make such a typo over the difference between "anav" and "aniy".

aniy, humble anav, meek

Anyone unfamiliar with a short stem or a long stem, could make the typo easily..
