What happens if one hardens their heart ? And the heart grows cold
and stoney and hard ? PRIDE !!!
Notice if sinning is defined as missing a target ( a person)
and trusting is defined as clinging to a target ( a person)
THAN hardening one's heart is defined as a relationship
of one person becoming distant to the other person.
Notice sin in the Ancient Hebrew scripture is not
a trangression of some torah rule, though this is implied...
Sinning is all about missing a person's hand...(Jesus)
Trusting is all about holding a person's hand..(Jesus)
Hardening the heart is about resisting to reach for Jesus' hand.
Why does the Bible say GOD hardens Pharoah's heart ?
This is to show the child parent relationship with it's stronger
authority. Who is the child here ? Pharoah. Who is the parent ?
GOD is, the stronger authority. When a child refuses to hold
the hand of it's parent, who's to blame ? The child ? yes, but
how do you record the statement ?
My child's heart is hardened against me, the parent ? This
statement shows the child as the stronger authority ....
The parent hardens the heart of the child. This statement shows
the strong authority, and the child who is challenging the strong
authority with rebellion. We are used to a different style of
writing sentences, where the objective noun and subject noun
are written as cause and effect. In Hebrew, nouns are not written
this way. The nouns are really completed actions. In Hebrew
nouns are really verbs.
So when it says "God hardened Pharoah's heart" in Hebrew
the actions are "The strong shepherd of authority completed the
relationship of Pharoah, who wanted his home authority
all to himself".
( 15 ) Ex 7:3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart "leb", and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt .
.. And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, mind ..
( 16 ) Ex 7:13 And he hardened Pharaoh's heart "leb", that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said .
.. And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, mind ..
( 17 ) Ex 7:14 And the LORD said unto Moses , Pharaoh's heart "leb" is hardened , he refuseth to let the people go .
.. unto Moses Pharaoh's heart, mind ..
( 18 ) Ex 7:22 And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments : and Pharaoh's heart "leb" was hardened , neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said .
.. enchantments and Pharaoh's heart, mind ..
( 19 ) Ex 7:23 And Pharaoh turned and went into his house , neither did he set his heart "leb" to this also.
.. house neither did he set his heart, mind ..
( 20 ) Ex 8:15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite , he hardened his heart "leb", and hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said .
.. was respite he hardened his heart, mind ..
Notice the sentence clearly is written differently as we understand..
Pharoah hardened his own heart....
