One of the very bad things about being bad is
how far you wander away from God and
towards Satan, you become a serial rapist
or a serial killer, and take innocent life..
( 442 ) Isa 59:15 Yea, truth faileth ; and he that departeth from evil "ra`" maketh himself a prey : and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment . {maketh...: or, is accounted mad} {it displeased...: Heb. it was evil in his eyes}

( 443 ) Isa 65:12 Therefore will I number you to the sword , and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter : because when I called , ye did not answer ; when I spake , ye did not hear ; but did evil "ra`" before mine eyes , and did choose that wherein I delighted not.

( 446 ) Jer 1:16 And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness "ra`", who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods , and worshipped the works of their own hands .

( 447 ) Jer 2:3 Israel was holiness unto the LORD , and the firstfruits of his increase : all that devour him shall offend ; evil "ra`" shall come upon them, saith the LORD .

( 448 ) Jer 2:13 For my people have committed two evils "ra`"; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters , and hewed them out cisterns , broken cisterns , that can hold no water .

This is a very interesting verse.
It describes two sinning processes that cause self-indulgence.
(1) The first is they forsaken me; the fountain of living waters.
Notice the words, they have forgotten Jesus, the Saviour, who is
the fountain of living waters.
There is a saying of Jesus hmself about this idea:-
Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall
never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a
well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Notice Jesus is a fountain of living waters.
Who is the living water ? Water is a symbol of the Holy Spirit.
Isa 44:3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty,
and floods upon the dry ground:
I will pour my spirit upon thy seed,
and my blessing upon thine offspring:
Mt 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of
the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened
unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man
be born of water and of the Spirit,
he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Re 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say,
Come. And let him that heareth say, Come
. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will,
let him take the water of life freely.
Thus the water of life is a flow of GOD's power administrated by
the Holy Spirit. So bad people forget the voice of the Holy Spirit
in their conscience and refuse to hear it anymore, thus they
comitt the sinning condition in which GOD cannot reach them.
Mr 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost
hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
It is a fearful thing my friend, not to hear the Holy Spirit
talking to your soul no more, for your ears are so numb you cannot hear
your eyes so blind you cannot see and your mind so poisoned you
cannot think anymore. Sorry for you...Shalom.
The second sinning process of self-indulgence is this:-
....and hewed them out cisterns , broken cisterns , that can hold no water
They build human powered wells of "living water themselves"...
as if such a concept was possible...they live the lie, that Baal
can offer them the stairway to heaven, that their own goodness
is sufficient to appease God and grant them entry into His
presence, or that they think they can buy their way into
heaven with money....
God's power is not for sale. God's love is not given
to the selfish. God's grace cannot be purchased.
Ye need only listen to GOD to enter in.
But this requires you eo be willing to be humble.
To listen and submit your will to Jesus.
How hard it is for a rich man to give up his
will, and allow Jesus a chance....
( 449 ) Jer 2:19 Thine own wickedness "ra`" shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil "ra`" thing and bitter , that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God , and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts .

( 450 ) Jer 2:27 Saying to a stock , Thou art my father ; and to a stone , Thou hast brought me forth : for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face : but in the time of their trouble "ra`" they will say , Arise , and save us. {brought...: or, begotten me} {their back: Heb. the hinder part of the neck}
