| Q62: 69. "On the Mount of Olives" Show the Desire of Ages is inspired.. (1) Let no man deceive you.. Turning to the disciples, Christ said, "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in Myname, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Many false messiahs will appear, claiming to workmiracles, and declaring that the time of the deliverance of the Jewish nation has come. These willmislead many. Christ's words were fulfilled. Between His death and the siege of Jerusalem many falsemessiahs appeared. But this warning was given also to those who live in this age of the world. Thesame deceptions practiced prior to the destruction of Jerusalem have been practiced through the ages,and will be practiced again. Let's go through the Holy Writings, showing the reader how man can be deceived:- The Hebrew word nasha 5377, reads according to the Ancient Hebrew pictograph: "Over the nations, pressing strong" This is the idea of a strong pressing upon mankind, from being in debt, having a mortgage, or being deceived. Isa 36:14 Thus saith the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you. Later writings in the NT show the messenger sent from Father-YHWH is Jesus, who destroys the proud with the Holy Spirit power from His mouth, by saying the Word. Thus Jesus does not deceive. Jer 29:8 � For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed. False prophets and false dreamers come. How do we avoid deception of this kind? Jer 29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. We must study Jesus' WORD in His teachings, both former teachings (OT) and latter teachings (NT). Mt 24:4 � And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. So in the end of time, mankind is deceived... Why even those who try to read translations, can be deceived... Only the words of Jesus, originally written in Hebrew, has no deception... not that the translations are evil, for they are not that bad, but the attempts at translation into English is confusing and fuzzy... It is best to align Words back to OT Hebrew, than bring the meanings forward through the Greek and finally the English. For example the Hebrew word "chen" translated as "Grace" actually is a broad term meaning "Beauty". The "X" in Greek seems a sound copy of the Hebrew word "III" which in English is spelled as a "ch" sound. It is interesting the "thorn" symbol in Hebrew is spelled in Greek with "X", and thus two different Hebrew words are combined into a single Greek theme. The way Jesus chose Kione Greek, to translate Hebrew into another language, is interesting and profound. It is as if, since language like Greek likes more words describing things, Jesus is allowing holy men to translate and simplify Hebrew into this process. Thus the Author finds, "Beauty" is a broad meaning, and has many narrower shades of meanings, such as "joy", "favour", "mercy", "character", "power", "grace" and s o forth. All these English terms aptly describe "beauty", so the understanding of "chen" as "grace" is fine, though it is a narrower meaning of the broad picture of one's beauty. Notice the Greek words build upon "Xapi" showing that "chen" was the root meaning for the Greek pictures. Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. We who have awaken from sleep in the Church, drinking extra wonders of Jesus via the Holy Spirit, are to reprove and wake others... We are also to pray using spiritual songs, and psalms, which written here in the Writings, prove the Psalms are prayers written for us to pray supporting Jesus with these words. For example, support Jesus daily with this prayer promise:- And another prayer promise:- There are over 150 Psalms or Prayers to choose prayer promises from, or Seeds of Jesus, which we sow in our heart every day, supporting Jesus with His words.This is how we should pray, not using our own human words, but first claim the power flow from Jesus' words, written in His teachings for you, than add your own words of joy if you wish. 2Th 2:3 � Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; The AntiChrist power began in Paul's time, and continues right though our time until the end of time, preaching Satan to come as "Christ" in the coming to earth, deceiving many. After this AntiChrist coming with power, wonders and signs, comes the real Jesus during His second coming, and only a small remnant watch and wait for Him. 1Jo 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.(KJV) This writing properly translated reads, Little children let no man deceive you, he that doeth straight is straight, even as Jesus is straight. If we add Satan or serve ourselves using our own Baal Master powers of self, we become crooked: 1Jo 3:8 He that committeth (do) sin (sin-offering) is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. Fo r this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Does Satan have a Church with sin-offerings, and His believers support Satan, being deceived they "see" themselves as "christian" ? Yes, sadly many do not realize Satan loves Churches to preach that sin-offerings to Jesus is OK....does not the Writings say, Jesus will forgive our sin-offering ? Yes...but the Writings also say this :- So we must not continue making sin-offerings unto death for Jesus to forgive... this proves we are not born of Jesus, and have no power from Jesus flowing through our lives. We are not properly trained by Jesus, we are weak soldiers of Christ, we need to read the teachings, support Jesus in prayer and really understand how living as Jesus lives really means. John speaks that believers in Jesus do not make "sin-offerings unto death" to Jesus to daily forgive. However John does speak of a "sin-offering not unto death"...What does He mean by this? John is speaking of relationship to Jesus, and the ups and downs of relationship can be at times missing Jesus' power, but not a breaking away of relationship. Thus some missing is overlooked by Jesus because His light covers you and your missing as long as you come close to Him in relationship. For more on this see (2) Signs of the time of the end.. Christ gave His disciples a sign of the ruin to come on Jerusalem, and He told them how to escape:"When ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.Then let them which are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it departout; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, thatall things which are written may be fulfilled." This warning was given to be heeded forty years after, atthe destruction of Jerusalem. The Christians obeyed the warning, and not a Christian perished in the fallof the city."Pray ye that your flight be not in the winter; neither on the Sabbath day," Christ said. He who madethe Sabbath did not abolish it, nailing it to His cross. The Sabbath was not rendered null and void byHis death. Forty years after His crucifixion it was still to be held sacred. For forty years the discipleswere to pray that their flight might not be on the Sabbath day Jerusalem is a simile figure of the Church of Jesus. When we see armies surround the Church literally, and then back off, we are to flee to the mountains and get ready for the time of the end.We are to pray such a time does not happen in winter or on the Weekly Sabbath. The Spirit of Prophecy says ... At the time of the siege, the Jews were assembled at Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Tabernacles, and thus the Christians throughout the land were able to make their escape unmolested. Without delay they fled to a place of safety--the city of Pella, in the land of Perea, beyond Jordan. {GC 30.2} The fleeing occurs during the "Feast of Tabernacles", when believers are to live in "booths" as simile of being redeemed from the world by Jesus. The feast is not meant to be a memorial of redemption pointing back in time, but a practicing of redemption pointing forwards in time. Upon the retreat of Cestius, the Jews, sallying from Jerusalem, pursued after his retiring army, and while both forces were thus fully engaged, the Christians had an opportunity to leave the city. At this time the country also had been cleared of enemies who might have endeavored to intercept them. At the time of the siege, the Jews were assembled at Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Tabernacles, and thus the Christians throughout the land were able to make their escape unmolested. Without delay they fled to a place of safety,�the city of Pella, in the land of Perea, beyond Jordan. {GC88 30.4} Notice both the wise and foolish virgins are doing the love feast. The foolish are asleep thinking they are already saved, while the wise virgins are watching for the signs to be saved again by Jesus. The feast of Tabernacles is a practice run of redemption in tents in the mountains, and thus every Christian was saved by obeying the sign they saw, as Jesus said. How is this a sign for us today? "The decree enforcing the worship of this day is to go forth to all the world, in a limited degree, it has already gone forth. In several places the civil power is speaking with the voice of a dragon, just as the heathen king spoke to the Hebrew captives." Signs of the Times, May 1888 Letter. We have to investigate what civil powers inflict "compulsary religious laws" upon us as believers? These are signs of civil power making threats upon our religious freedom.What is the sign of the time of the end to flee to the mountains? Why is this an important sign? Because weekly Sabbath keeping, is a sign of God's special power. Da 1:12 Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink Daniel and his friends were able to bargain civil powers regarding health issues. Da 3:7 Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. When civil music is played the people were forced to worship an image to the Government. In Babylon, when and how would this event happen? Daniel does not give further details. Eze 3:15 Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days. Here the captives dwell in Babylon near Telabib , "Which was a place by Euphrates where the Jews were prisoners" 1599 Geneva Bible notes. Eze 4:6 And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year. Dwelling in Babylon (meaning confusion) and in Jerusalem (meaning Church), we become end of time believers in confusing Church assemblies. How do we know which signs to avoid and which signs make us guard the true Church? Eze 5:5 � Thus saith the Lord GOD; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her. The "Church" is surrounded by world nations and becomes corrupted by the world, refusing to follow Jesus teachings anymore. Eze 5:17 So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.(KJV) The first universal sign upon the "corrupted Church" is a famine. Eze 6:4 And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols. This is followed by technology collaspe. (Idols are similes of technology). Eze 6:8 � Yet will I leave a remnant, that ye may have some that shall escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries. Out of the "corrupt church" comes a "remnant of true followers of Jesus". Eze 7:1 � Moreover the word of the LORD(Father-YHWH) came unto me, saying, Now the Family of GOD goes through the end of time, to add further details:- Eze 8:6 He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations. There are many 'great abominations' in the "corrupted church" detailed by GOD to the "Son of Man" a simile of Jesus. Eze 8:16 And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east. One of the great abominations is the worship of the rising sun. Here is a photograph of an SDA church the Author stumbled upon during an important meeting, and staying there overnight, I could captive the orientation of the building to the sun early in the morning. Are there other buildings ignorantly or deliberately doing this? The Holy Writings detail how sanctuary structures are to be built, yet architects seem fit to build as they please.The people may not know these things, but technology becomes a snare. That's what idols do, they entrap the unwary. 1Jo 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. You will also notice inside, steps leading up to the Altar, which prayers and sayings are offered. Ex 20:26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.(KJV) The Holy Writings say not to build steps in the Sanctuary either. This quotation by Ellen White, refers to the USA Blair Bill, passed in 1888, was prevented from becoming National Sunday Law by A T Jones (an SDA scholar) who went to Congress to protest. Thus we say the first seige of the Roman army has happened, when Jerusalem was surrounded with National Sunday Law decrees. A second Roman Army seige will soon come, and this time the National Sunday Law decree will be successful throughout the USA, and eventually the entire world. What will the Jews think of this in literal Jerusalem, who worship YHWH on Sabbath each Saturday? What will the Seventh Day Adventist's think when they worship Jesus on Sabbath each Saturday? (3) Let us be watching .. Thereare those who claim to know the very day and hour of our Lord's appearing. Very earnest are they inmapping out Page 633 the future. But the Lord has warned them off the ground they occupy. The exact time of the secondcoming of the Son of man is God's mystery. We are not only to look forbut to hasten the coming of the day of God. 2 Peter 3:12, margin. Hadthe church of Christ done her appointed work as the Lord ordained, the whole world would before thishave been warned, and the Lord Jesus would have come to our earth in power and great glory Because we know not the exact time of His coming, we are commanded to watch. "Blessed are thoseservants, whom the Lord when He cometh shall find watching." Luke 12:37. The evil servant says in his heart, "My lord delayeth his coming." He does not say that Christ will notcome. He does not scoff at the idea of His second coming. But in his heart and by his actions and wordshe declares that the Lord's coming is delayed. He banishes from the minds of others the conviction thatthe Lord is coming quickly. His influence leads men to presumptuous, careless delay. They areconfirmed in their worldliness and stupor. Earthly passions, corrupt thoughts, take possession of themind. The evil servant eats and drinks with the drunken, unites with the world in pleasure seeking. We do not know when the "time of the end" begins.When the "second Roman seige" begins, we do not know, but it will come soon, and cause immediate changes upon the earth. Notice the "church" can hasten the day of the end, if we do as we are told to do, take the gospel to all the world, as a witness of Jesus to them,and then the end of time will begin. Noah did not know when the "time of the end" would begin, and as soon as the ark was finished, the animals gathered in, the food brought aboard..they knew the "time of the end" was close.When GOD shut the ark's door upon them, the close of probation, Noah and the families inside knew the "time of the end" began that day. When a universal famine begins on the earth, followed by the USA passing "compulsory Sunday worshipping", we will know the "time of the end" has began that very day. Notice we are commanded by Jesus to be watching... what does that mean? Sit around sleeping, like the careless servant, taking up world pleasures as we wait?How many Seventh Day Adventists live and sleep in the cities, coming to Church Assemblies every Sabbath, waiting for Sunday Laws to begin.Will such an event finally wake them up from their worldliness, and will God give them time to get ready...move out of the cities then...is that how the parable is t old? Re 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. The Seventh Day Adventist Church used to be known as the "three angels church" for Jesus raised such an assembly to preach the three angels messages before they come upon us.Indeed for the reader they are listed here. But notice what happens if we add more writings to these messages... Can you see the message here both literally and spiritually?We are to leave the cities of Babylon, and spiritually watch for the Coming of Jesus.And get ready for the "time of the end". We tell others, by visiting the cities, not by living in them. The purpose of living in the country, is several fold:- That's what "watching" means, not sitting around sleeping and watching, but being busy getting ready for Jesus, training as a soldier and watching...Not only does the "time of the end" begin, but so does the "dragon come to your door begin" and we must be ready. Even though SDA assemblies worship Jesus on Saturday as Sabbath, just as in Ezekiel's time in Ez 8:6, the people face towards the sun to worship at 9:30 am.
