| Q4: Seeking Salvation : Why Jesus died? Ge 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. The Hebrew repeats the last two words for a reason: Ge 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of function and dysfunction, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt dying die. (Ancient Hebrew) There are both verb and noun forms of this word, let's consider both: Ps 48:14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.(KJV) God is in control of life and the ending of life, ie death. Ex 10:17 Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.(KJV) Pharoah sees the plagues as a simile of death. Such a condition is in the hands of GOD. 2Sa 22:5 When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid; 6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me; There are some poetry similes here, when wicked men come all around us, and mock us, they are essenially causing a "hell" experience, which is a simile of "Death". This hell experience, the Hebrew word "shaowl", seems to be a total separation from GOD. Job 11:8 It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? Here GOD is highest in heaven, the opposite is "hell" the place where GOD doesn't exist. Ps 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. There is limits to how long members of Elohiym can be separated from each other, in this place where GOD is no longer together as one, but separated from each other. Thus in death, as in hell, the "relationship" dies, or ends. This is the meaning of "Death". Your relationship with GOD dies. The first death is a simile of sleep, because consciousness "dies", the separation of mind from body, so our thoughts sleep... The second death is a simile of non-existence, because no relationship with GOD and matter exists, so nothing remains, not even the atoms themselves. Many people are confused and see in death, as some eternal spirit that lives on. Yes there is an eternal spirit in us, but that is not ours, it is the Holy Spirit as a Being, that allows relationship to begin. When dust holds the hands of the Holy Spirit, administrating the powers of the Father, living happens. This is not what some extremely see as Panthesism, whatever that word means. God is not in matter, but His powers allow matter to exist. Beyond this, Scripture speaks of mysteries. The Holy Spirit functions as an agency or medium, allowing the Divine Power to flow. So in this sense, "living" is defined as "relationship with GOD". And death, must mean the ending of relationship with GOD, an eternal state of non-existence. Pr 5:1 My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: 2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and tha t thy lips may keep knowledge. 3 For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: 4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. 5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. 6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, Scripture makes poetry pictures of "wisdom" as a Being. There are two adminstrative functions of the Holy Spirit, to empower function or dysfunction. These two choices depend on your soul to choose, and thus which Ruler rules over your soul. As an administrator of your life and your living, you are free to choose which Ruler rules you. Just an a strange woman bent on fornication takes you to hell and death, so Satan is bent on making your soul of non-existence, as your choose to walk away from GOD in relationship. Your choice. Notice the poetry pictures of the Holy Spirit as an Adminstrator of your living is portrayed as "woman" with "mother like functions" caring for "her children". Pr 5:18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. 19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love. 20 And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? 21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings. 22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. Your Holy Spirit is an adminstrator of your living, a fountain, like a wife from your youth. This poetry passage has both maleness-love and femaleness-love, here showing us that all of GOD as a Divine Family is interested in loving you. But some of us allow the guilt of our own wickness to entangle us in the cords of our own sins. Reading further wonderful poetry of pictures of GOD and humans becoming wayward with wickedness, we read: Pr 6:20 My son, Here is a poetry parallel. Some religions of faith might say, this is saying one thing in two different ways. So the ten commandments of the Father is the same as the Torah Teachings of the Mother. And this is correct. The similes are written here for a reason. The Provider provides ten arrangements of words to describe love that provides and responds. The Responder administrates loving in the teachings, the finer details how to love in all its various ways with man, and his fallen ways. The Father-Provider provides love as ten principles. The Mother-Responder responds to that love with numerous examples of love in response, the torah teachings. Many do not see the Ten Commandments as instructions of the Heavenly Father, and the entire Torah Teachings as detailed instructions from our Adminstrator the Holy Spirit. Pr 6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. If you play around with another woman, other than the Holy Spirit and GOD with you in relationship, than you play around with Satan, who functions as both male and female to his followers. And so the similes of playing around with earthly woman in lust, is really a walking away from relationship with GOD. Pr 7:1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. 2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Notice GOD follows his own laws and rules. And expects you to do the same. Pr 7:27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.(KJV) So if you despise the Holy Spirit, as the "mother functions of GOD caring for you", than you choose to end your relationship with GOD, and in "hell" you choose to no longer exist. Pr 8:1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? Does not the Holy Spirit speak to you via the conscience? Do you not hear? Pr 8:23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. The Holy Spirit was eternal from the beginning, set up for a reason to adminstrate function or dysfunction in humans who can choose. Pr 8:27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: The Holy Spirit was there when a member of GOD created the heavens and the earth as a creation. Pr 8:32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Now the Holy Spirit asks us to harken to the caring of GOD. Pr 8:36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.(KJV) So death is really the despising of the Holy Spirit, who chooses to no longer administrate the living in you, and so you die. Mr 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: Here the NT says the same thing. if you despise the Administrator of Living, you choose to end relationship, so you die. Now we are ready to establish why Jesus died, since we have a complete picture of "hell" and "death" and the "Holy Spirit" with "mother like functions like a woman". When all these exist in "Relationship", man becomes "living energy". The Holy Spirit who is partnered to you, records your character development and encourages you daily to develop a character from GOD. Ec 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?(KJV) The glory of the Holy Spirit covered Adam and Eve, that they saw themselves as not naked. Ps 104:2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: 3 Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind (Holy Spirit): (KJV) Sin is primarily missing relationship with GOD. Jg 20:16 Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss (chata) (Hebrew word often translated as "sin" meaning "miss").(KJV) When Adam first missed relationship with GOD, a broken relationship formed and the Holy Spirit shrank around them, exposing their nudity. This daily dying consequence from missing (Gen 2:17) , implies that there is a two stage breaking of relationship with GOD. The first stage is called a "sleep of death" when the Holy Spirit stops recording your character, and that very day your thoughts perish. Ps 146:4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. (KJV) In the grave, the corrupted law in the DNA continues in some cells, and so the energy continues for a while as "dying energy". The second stage is called a "death of non-existence". In this process "divinity" leaves everything, including the atoms, which if "divinity" leaves the atoms, the atoms cease to exist. So ab solutely nothing is left, when "divinity" leaves. The KJV describes this in translation as a "plague" and Jeff Benner as "a striking". Here is the verse that speaks of the third coming of Jesus to earth. Zec 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. Notice the wicked are punished according to their deeds, and eventually when "divinity" leaves them, the flesh falls from their form, until nothing remains, no thoughts, no records, no atoms, nothing. Some might protest, what about the eternal burning of GOD? God is an eternal burning, and the righteous are made "fire-proof" to endure the burning and live forever in this burning, happily and gladly to be with GOD, and not perish. Ps 84:11 For the LORD God (is) a sun... (KJV) Re 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. Re 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.(KJV) So the wicked who also endure the presence of burning, but who are not made "fire-proof" are consumed by the eternal love of GOD. There are TWO ways man can be saved: Ex 19:8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. This salvation process is based on obedience to the Father's Ten principles of Love. Ga 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. Nobody can be saved by obeying this law since we are already under condemnation from Adam's first sin, which caused a daily dying of our DNA, so we are born with inherited potential missing. Ro 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; So Jesus offered to rescue mankind, as the law demands, "life for life". Some think as Christians we confess our sins unto our sin bearer Jesus, and his Death forgives our sins. So than they see Jesus' Death as "cheap grace" so they live a life of sinning, and hope in Jesus Death. Many say Jesus Death abolished the Father's moral laws, and so this allows sinners to do sinning, because of Jesus who died for their sinning? Does salvation work like this? NO!!! The law doesn't say "death for death", but "life for life", in other words it is the "life" that is exchanged for the sinner, not the death. Ex 21:23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, (KJV) The law doesn't say, one must die so that other can live, though it seems to assume this? So sacrifice is not the solution, this is misunderstood. Doesn't God say I desire mercy not sacrifice? (Hosea 6:6) The countless killing of animals has misled many to conclude "death" is the solution to "sin". But the law says, in the context of the Holy Spirit as a mother of living, one must exchange your eternal life so another can have eternal life. So what in mankind as "nephesh" or "living energy" is there, about "life"? Divinity is an uncaused cause, but it not about life. So what are we missing here? Now consider the "sleep of death". So in the first death, what dies? Have we missed something about death? Now consider the "second death". Now some religions say Jesus never pre-existed and so a sinless Son of the Father, came and died for our sins. So in this image, Jesus lies in the grave in death, and the Father's Divinity prevents the body of the sinless Son of God from decaying. Funny? than Jesus never fully died if this is the case? If the relationship ends in death, as defined, than the "Father's divinity" has to leave as well, so why didn't Jesus body decay? Maybe Jesus pre-existed ? The relationship with GOD ends, and so Jesus dies in the fullest sense, as humans do. Now according to the Sola Scriptoria definition of why Jesus died: Ex 21:23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, (KJV) Is there any exchange of "life for life" ? No. It is just a sacrifice, one dies so MAN can live. Maybe we have the wrong Scripture verse explaining why Jesus died? Maybe, so which religion answers the question? Why Jesus died? Which law of the Father do we refer to ? Maybe Jesus pre-existed, and is eternally divine just as the Father and the Holy Spirit is. That means Jesus has a "Relationship" with other members of Elohiym. Such a relationship is necessarry as this is a generator of love, a love that provides and responds and is collected by the eternal Son of GOD. When Jesus experiences the "Second death" process, notice the image pictured here: Jesus lies in the grave, with two relationships. The "divine relationship" becomes broken, and it is the separation of the members of GOD that cause the "second death" process, causing the Son of GOD to cry out: Psalms 22:1 My Strong Authority, My Strong Authority why are you leaving Yashuah, the words of my roaring? The "human relationship" also is broken, and the Holy Spirit stops the character development and the thoughts of Jesus perish that very day. The body of Christ does not decay because His own divinity empowers the body to remain living, a mystery not fully understood. Such a verse in Ps 16:10, proves Jesus is divine. There is an eternal exchange in relationship here, for Jesus is permanently encapsulated within humanity, and the exchange is "eternal life for eternal life". When Jesus rises from this infinite sacrifice of love, His body retains the consequences of broken DNA laws from missing, and we see the scars in the Divine Son of God who lay down his life for His friends (John 15:13). Finally the one who caused this mischief, must also pay the penalty, your eternal life for His eternal life. And so Satan has his eternal living removed, so the Son of Man is crowned the final victor of this law, and that the Father's laws are just and eternal. Some consider the "spirit" leaves the body and endures a portional punishment in a different location from the grave.This "spirit" thing is seen as eternal, and talks and feels the torment before entering a different dimension of heaven. It seems to be talking about the changes to "spirit/your words" when we experience the second birth, made possible by Jesus and the Holy Spirit. "Verse 16" The Holy Spirit itself beareth witness with the Holy Spirit administrating our character, that we are the children of Elohiym. It boils down to one word, you choose...In English I would prefer not to have polysemy in my words, otherwise we ponder confusion, and you are doing this...so please choose a word to define your meaning....a single word is best... If you ask me, in every place in the OT and NT the word "ruach or ruwach or pneumia" this word means "Holy Spirit, a Being functioning as a "medium". The personal expression of this duality of function is the Shadday, a Being who expresses femaleness-love as a simile of a Mother. This medium is created by Shadday, one Bible text speaks of "wind being created". This "Medium" was called forth before earth's creation, before universe formation, because GOD needed a universe that would allow for function and dysfunction if that was asked for, hence our factors and constants are finely tuned for life. 121 decimal places of precision in fact. Technically a medium is not a Being or even a thing, hence often referenced by the KJV as "it". In other times as the Shadday behind the duality "it" is referenced as "she" or "her" and in the presence of community divine members as "he" and "his". All of these references are quite normal for Hebrew. If we look at mediums, they are simply a process for the movement and change of properties to energy transfer from one place to another, ie "wind is the movement of kinetic energy in media (air) relative to space and time. Where does this energy come from? the Provider, via the Responder. Thus mediums require TWO divine Beings to function properly, a Source or Provider and a Responder or Conditioner. Regardless of how we see all this mystery, this "Stuff I Ponder", I usually term it divinity, things too great and big for me to understand. Divinity lives and has relationship with Man, in the word termed "nephesh". OK, so what word do we use to term "Us" that is important to GOD and our relationship, that is worthy of eternal life? Such a thing must be sinless and divine. Why sinless and divine? Because if this thing is made "alive again" in the presence of the divine burning, it would cease to exist, if it was not divine, as divinity is divine. I would term this "spirit/your words" thing "character". There are two sources of character development in man. The word "character" does not exist in Hebrew, the word is assumed to live inside the medium, that thing administrated by the Holy Spirit, that is empowered by the Father. Who owns "character"? Nobody does. Technically not you. Technically not GOD. Character is the "stuff" humans choose to sow in their DNA that comes from divinity, when we support GOD, sowing His seeds of personified power in our minds, the DNA changes this epigenetically into a pattern of behaviour and our character develops from divin ity. How is this character development made possible? By Jesus, who exchanged His divinity for our fallen DNA flesh of character on the cross, laying down one life and another. An infinite exchange, a supreme act of love. There are two sources of character...the manmade character comes from our Baal master powers of self, in which we pretend to make on our own, apart from divinity, we assume we can self love, and be good and follow the laws in our own human strength, so our DNA has an epi-genetic record of good and pious things, that mean nothing to GOD. Such a character is not divine, it is human attached to fallen DNA, and if it were to experience the divinity of burning would burn into non-existence. The other source of character... comes from the womb of the Holy Spirit, via Jesus, when we choose to become divine clones of Jesus, sowing His seeds of power into us by choice, one seed promise at a time, until we become a unique collection of love elements we have chosen to sow, that makes us similes of Jesus , clones of Jesus, but not the same personality of Jesus, all people are free to choose which seeds of power we wish to sow. This character developed makes us straight, as we hold Jesus hand, and become as He is. Now to some technical parts: Can character talk or think or act apart from flesh? no Where is character stored during the sleep of death? In heaven by the Holy Spirit or Shadday. If this is true, how and where is character stored before it is assembled again in living beings? Character is just DNA code, in a single word "information", unique only to you and GOD, because relationship made it, and technically nobody owns relationship. There are several references to books, the book or remembrance, the book or life. This tells us the "information" is recorded for all to see. When Satan see us missing divinity, he assumes we are missing proper character development, and thus are wicked, so He fights over every "character" recorded in the books. Am 4:11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. 12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel. 13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.(KJV) We are plucked as refined metals from the furnace of love. Note also the created wind. Zec 3:2 And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? Here the same theme with Satan fighting over the "character" recorded in heaven. In this sense perhaps "character" talks, and is made known, Satan fights over it, and the Lord does to, but "character" is not "living" it's just code, or information. If we have a look at "ruwach" as a Hebrew word, the ancient Hebrew pictographs read "The Head Secure Outside" What is the Head? Often refers to man, or GOD, the secure tent peg picture is the Father's providing, and the Outside means, the medium is outside all over the earth, like a covering. If we have a look at "Shadday" "The pressed door active" is a picture of a Responder pressing mankind in the door actively. Which door? The door of heaven. The pressing letter is a picture of teeth, so this pressing also cuts and hurts. If we look at the word Nephesh: "Over the nations, the mouth pressed" is simply a picture describing how the living energy is made, GOD's mouth pressed into mankind, this divinity mystery and we became like GOD as living energy. The letter "nun" "over the nations" is also a picture of "sperm or seed", and this refers to the Seed that GOD wants to give us over the nations of mankind... what seed? Ps 2:11 Serve the FATHER-LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the SEED-Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.(KJV) The Hebrew/Arabic word here "BR" means "grain or seed", the "Home Head". This picture is very significant, because Jesus calls himself the seed, that dies for man. A seed contains DNA information for growing functionally in divinity for ever, in other words "character". Notice this verse: From summit, the home head, the home head strongs, via the Divine Family Powers, the heavens and the earth. The picture of "home head" is written twice in Gen 1:1. Why does the Seed create earth and heaven? To replace the "characters" lost in heaven from sin. Scripture alludes to one third of "characters" lost from heaven, and GOD wants to replace them with jury members that "sin" is wrong, and Satan and his angels false. How many "characters" fell from heaven? Probably 12 billion or so, hence why the SEED needs to sow and grow more "characters" like HIM. Hence why earth needs time. Sorry for the long windy discourse Dave, I love writing too. But I have coined a single term for this divine thing that leaves the body when we die, it is just information or character. now it is misleading to call it spirit, because that implies polysemy and confusion. English loves details and invent words for different meanings, whereas Hebrew is broad and ponders confusion. So you need to develop a single English word to embrace what you mean by spirit, as I have done. Such a word like "character" works for me, and this is the "spirit" that the Holy Spirit witnesses to the Father, why we are allowed to become adopted children of Elohiym. Shalom my friend.
