Q18: Can we see God "Elohiym" and live?

Hypothesis: Can humans see Elohiym and live?

Method: See Bible verses presented

Introduction: Some faiths say that one cannot see Elohiym and live. Certainly humans cannot see Elohiym's face and live? However people can see Elohiym and live because Elohiym comes to them through the heavenly Medium. This study will support this presentation.

Conclusion: When people saw Jesus, His divinity was encapsulated within humanity, which was sustained by the Medium of the Holy Spirit, channelling normal powers coming from Father-Yahweh, rather than coming from Jesus alone. There were a few instances of Jesus divinity coming forth, in which people were blinded by the light of Jesus' power.

Discussion:

Example 1

(1) Ex 33:18 And Moses said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

Ex 33:20 And he (Yahweh) said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

  • Ex 33:21 And the LORD (Yahweh) said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
  • Ex 33:22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
  • Ex 33:23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

    This is a very strange example. There is no reference to any other member of GOD present. The rock "tswur" is a symbol of the Father, our salvation, is present only in symbolic form. There is only indirect evidence of the Holy Spirit, as administrators of burning rock and fire.

    Na 1:6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire "esh" , and the rocks "tswur" are thrown down by him. 7 The LORD "Yahweh" is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

    Moses was a very meek person, and Yahweh could talk to him directly in the tabernacle tent, or upon the mountain, as a friend to a friend, so his character was pure enough to withstand Yahweh's back, even perhaps without a medium's presence for filtrating Yahweh's glory? The cleft on the "tswur" rock, though would have done some shielding of His majesty, a symbol of the Father doing some shielding Himself?

    Example 2

    (2) Jg 6:22 And when Gideon perceived that he was the "messenger of Yahweh" (Son-Yahweh), Gideon said, Alas, O Lord "Adonay" GOD "Yahweh"! for because I have seen the "messenger of Yahweh" (Son-Yahweh), face to face.

    Gideon was an ordinary human, and we have other members of Elohiym present, the Holy Spirit would have acted as a filter allowing the messenger of Yahweh to be seen before Gideon.

  • Jg 6:20 "And the messenger of Elohiym " begins this passage.
  • Jg 6:21 Then the messenger of the LORD "Yahweh" continues to present Himself to Gideon.

    Example 3

    (3) Job 40:1 � Moreover the LORD "Yahweh" answered Job, and said, Job 40:2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty "Shadday" instruct him? he that reproveth God "Allowaah", let him answer it.

    Job 42:1 � Then Job answered the LORD, and said,...

    Job 42:5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

    In this passage Job hears Yahweh speak and declares it is the same as seeing Yahweh face to face. The experience would have been filtered via the Medium of the Holy Spirit, present throughout the Book of JOb.

    Example 4

    (4) Mt 17:2 [Jesus] .. was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

  • 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
  • 4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord �Adonay�, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
  • 5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

    It was obviously the Father -Yahweh speaking to Peter about His Son, Son-Yahweh. If we have two members of Elohiym here as functional descriptors of a Father and His Son, this picture makes the suggestion of simile pictures of the heavenly concept of Elohiym as a Family.

    The experience would have been filtered via the Medium of the Holy Spirit, present as symbols of the bright cloud overshadowing Jesus, the two heavenly men with Jesus, and the Father nearby.

    Example 5

    (5)2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

  • Mt 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

    Jesus is no ordinary human, and an extraordinary prophet, he is chief commander of the angels armies, the Son of Elohiym, and during the Second Coming, Jesus comes in victorious glory that destroys the wicked by even His light.

    Example 6

    (6)Joh 18:6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.

    Divinity flashed through His humanity, and the light of Jesus made the men fall backward to the ground. The encounter was brief, but unmistakable proof of His Power, yet those violent men lived; because the Holy Spirit living inside of Jesus was a medium encapsulating Jesus' divinity as He walked on earth normally in His humanity.

    Next we will consider the English word "trinity" and if we should use this word.
